In the game's '''What If Sagas''', an alternate timeline shows Dr. Gero sending an android built in Gevo's image (Android 16) back in time to kill Kid Goku during the Red Ribbon Army War. Android 16 encounters Kid Goku and Android 8 (Eighter) after the fall of Muscle Tower. Android 8 fights alongside Goku to protect him, and they eventually defeat Android 16, who acknowledges the power of their friendship.
