== Biography == Dobby meets Mark in the JLB lunchroom, where she develops an immediate liking for him, partly out of sympathy for how others mock him following his failed marriage attempt with Sophie. Their relationship begins with a flirtatious encounter in the office supply closet. Coming from a well-off family (Seasonal Beatings), Dobby is quirky and unconventional, with a unique sense of style and interests in video games and fantasy role-playing. She is also more empathetic, caring, and like-minded toward Mark than Sophie ever was. However, her outgoing personality, love of adventure, and acceptance of social niceties often clash with Mark’s neurotic and risk-averse tendencies, ultimately straining their relationship. Dobby is headstrong, quick to pick up on social cues, and navigates challenging social situations well despite her self-proclaimed awkwardness. She has an offbeat charm, exemplified by moments such as her use of "personal cheese" in the lunchroom when she and Mark first meet (Spin War). Her great taste in music is noted by Jeremy, and she dislikes olives (Quantocking II). Throughout their relationship, various hurdles—including rivalries with Gerrard and Jeremy—complicate their happiness. Dobby considers Gerrard a close friend, but their dynamic is affected by his unrequited feelings for her. After Gerrard’s death in Series 8 (Jeremy Therapised), Mark and Dobby’s relationship faces further challenges. Despite their moments of compatibility, Mark's anxieties and insecurities undermine their connection. In the final stages of their relationship, Dobby plans to move in with Mark, but a disastrous weekend in the Quantocks, during which Mark brings Jeremy along, derails their plans. Soon after, Dobby accepts a job offer in New York and moves there with her ex-boyfriend Simon. Later, at Super Hans' wedding, Dobby is seen dating a man named Gregory (Gregory’s Beard).
