Dodoria initially served under [[King Cold]] as a member of the Cold Force, alongside Zarbon and the [[Captain Ginyu|Ginyu]] Force, before Cold passed control to his son Frieza. Upon Frieza's rise to power, the Cold Force was rebranded as the Frieza Force, and Dodoria became one of Frieza's two highest-ranking generals, the other being Zarbon. With his high power level, Dodoria was not only an enforcer for Frieza but also one of his closest attendants.

According to Toyotarou's interpretation in ''Dragon Ball Super: Broly'', Dodoria and his subordinates killed Tora and his team after being contacted by Leek about the order to return to Planet Vegeta. This mirrors events from ''Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku'', where Dodoria was sent to Planet Meat to eradicate Team Bardock, as they were potential survivors of Frieza's plan to exterminate the Saiyans.

==== Frieza Saga ====
Dodoria accompanies Frieza and Zarbon to Planet Namek in search of the Dragon Balls, which Frieza intends to use to achieve immortality and maintain his dominance over the universe. Dodoria helps Frieza collect the Dragon Balls by brutally torturing and slaughtering the Namekians to extract information.

When Vegeta arrives on Namek to pursue his own agenda of collecting the Dragon Balls, Dodoria's scouter detects Vegeta's power level at 24,000. Dismissing it as a malfunction, Dodoria doesn't believe Vegeta could be stronger than him.

As Frieza continues his rampage, three Namekian warriors appear to defend their people. Dodoria mocks them for their initially low power levels, but he is shocked when they power up and easily defeat Frieza's low-level soldiers. Dodoria then brutally slaughters the three warriors on Frieza's orders. When the village elder [[Moori]] destroys the scouters to prevent further tracking of the Dragon Balls, Dodoria kills him after he reveals the location of the village's Dragon Ball but refuses to disclose the locations of others.

Dodoria attempts to kill Dende, but [[Gohan]] intervenes, knocking Dodoria into a house, allowing [[Krillin]] and Gohan to rescue the young Namekian. Enraged, Dodoria chases them but is temporarily blinded by Krillin's Solar Flare technique, allowing them to escape.

Assuming he has killed them with his Maximum Buster attack, Dodoria heads back to Frieza. On his way, he is ambushed by Vegeta, who has decided to betray Frieza and achieve immortality for himself. Dodoria, realizing Vegeta's increased power after his near-death experience on Earth, tries to bargain for his life by revealing the secret behind the destruction of Planet Vegeta.

Vegeta, intrigued by the information, listens as Dodoria explains that Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta out of fear of the Saiyans' potential. However, Vegeta has no intention of sparing Dodoria and ruthlessly kills him with a Finish Blaster as the general attempts to flee back to Frieza.

Dodoria makes several brief appearances in ''Dragon Ball Super'', particularly during the Golden Frieza Saga. In a flashback scene, Dodoria is seen alongside Zarbon and the Ginyu Force when [[Sorbet]], one of Frieza's loyal subordinates, laments the significant losses suffered by the Frieza Force after the defeat on Namek. Dodoria is shown in silhouette, symbolizing his role in the once-powerful Frieza Force.

Additionally, Dodoria is mentioned in connection with [[Tagoma]], a soldier in Frieza's army. Tagoma recalls a time when he witnessed Frieza, Dodoria, and Captain Ginyu together. Sorbet later references Dodoria's power level, comparing it to Tagoma's, which leads to Frieza harshly reprimanding Tagoma for suggesting that his elites ever displayed such cowardice.

In the ''Super Dragon Ball Heroes'' promotional anime, Dodoria appears in the Supreme Kai of Time Saga as one of the competitors in the Super Space-Time Tournament. Dodoria plays a significant role in the film ''Bardock - The Father of Goku'', where he is depicted as one of Frieza's top two henchmen alongside Zarbon. In the film, Dodoria and his elites are sent to Planet Meat to eliminate Bardock and his team of Saiyan fighters as part of Frieza's plan to exterminate the Saiyan race. Dodoria and his men successfully kill most of Bardock's team but leave Bardock himself severely injured, assuming he would soon die from his injuries.

Frieza, however, decides to eliminate the entire Saiyan race by destroying Planet Vegeta. Dodoria and Zarbon are the only two witnesses to Frieza's Supernova attack, which obliterates the planet and its inhabitants.

Dodoria appears in ''Dragon Ball Super: [[Broly (Dragon Ball Super)|Broly]]'' during a flashback set on Planet Vegeta. Dodoria appears during the fifth Time Machine Quest in ''Dragon Ball Online''. In this quest, he is seen attacking a Namekian village with Frieza. Afterward, he is sent to pursue Krillin, Gohan, and Dende. After being defeated by Vegeta, Dodoria's corpse is discovered by [[Towa]], a powerful sorceress from the future. Towa revives and brainwashes Dodoria using a green Time Breaker stone, turning him into a giant. However, despite this enhancement, Dodoria is once again defeated and killed by the Time Patrol.

In ''Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2'', Dodoria plays a significant role in the "Ruckus on Planet Namek Saga." The story takes place in Age 762, during the Frieza Force's assault on Namek. After Gohan intervenes to save Dende, history is altered by Towa's Dark Magic, causing both Zarbon and Dodoria to pursue Krillin, Gohan, and Dende. The Future Warrior from Age 852 is sent to ensure the trio's escape.

* Initial Pursuit: As in the original history, Krillin uses Solar Flare to temporarily blind Dodoria. However, Zarbon blocks the escape route, allowing Dodoria to recover. The [[Future Warrior (XV2)|Future Warrior]] arrives just in time to help Krillin, who instructs Gohan to flee with Dende. Zarbon orders Dodoria to chase after Gohan and Dende, while he deals with the Future Warrior and Krillin.
* Future Warrior's Intervention: The Future Warrior aids Krillin in escaping, and they later find that Vegeta has attacked Dodoria, allowing Gohan and Dende to escape. Vegeta, still suspicious of the Future Warrior's identity, wonders who they are as they vanish, having returned to Age 852 after correcting history.
