When two Rabbit Mob henchmen are defeated by Goku, they call for reinforcements, prompting Monster Carrot to arrive on the scene in person. Despite having an opportunity to escape, Goku and Bulma remain to confront the feared mob leader. Upon his arrival, Monster Carrot greets Bulma with a handshake, which she rejects and slaps away. Laughing, he declares, "You touched me," and uses his powers to transform Bulma into a carrot with a burst of smoke.

Goku hesitates to attack, worried that harm might come to the transformed Bulma. However, Yamcha and Puar intervene, stealing the carrot-Bulma from Monster Carrot. With his leverage lost, Monster Carrot is easily defeated by Goku and forced to restore Bulma to her human form. As punishment, Goku binds Monster Carrot and his gang and takes them to the Moon. There, they are ordered to make treats for children as a reference to the Japanese folktale ''The Rabbit in the Moon''. Goku promises to retrieve them after a year of good behavior.

==== Tournament Saga ====
Monster Carrot's stay on the Moon is abruptly ended when [[Master Roshi]] destroys it during the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament to prevent Goku from transforming into a Great Ape. In the ''Dragon Ball: Adventure Special'', Akira Toriyama mentions that Monster Carrot and his followers were left drifting in space after the Moon's destruction.

In an additional panel, Monster Carrot and his gang are seen watching [[Merus]] fly past the Moon, indicating they somehow returned to Earth's Moon after its restoration. For reasons unknown, they continue to make treats on the Moon, possibly having embraced their new lifestyle.
