===Background===
Mechikabura was originally a candidate for the position of Supreme Kai of Time, competing with Chronoa for the title. At that time, Demigra, [[Gravy]], and [[Putine]] served under him. To determine who would become the new Supreme Kai of Time, each candidate was given a [[Tokitoki]] egg to raise. Mechikabura attempted to accelerate the growth of his Tokitoki using dark magic, but this distorted the egg, causing various problems. He then tried to raise a fake copy named [[Dogidogi|Dokidoki]], which also failed.

Due to his malicious actions, Mechikabura was sealed in a space beyond time, where he established the Dark Empire and became the Dark King. Later, Chronoa sealed him within the Crack of Time. With his absence, the Dark Empire became the smaller Time Breaker faction, led by Towa, who sought to revive him.
