== Trivia == * North's signature color is red. * William Joyce was inspired by Sean Connery's portrayal of [[James Bond]] for North’s character, stating: “There’s no way you can be Santa and not have extraordinary technology at your disposal,” and, “I always saw Sean Connery as Santa Claus. He’s got to have a little of James Bond in him.” * North’s sleigh is an automated carriage pulled by huge reindeer. The artists designed it as a mix between a snowmobile and an F-14 jet fighter. * North speaks almost all bug languages, as well as fluent hamster and leech. He uses this skill to communicate with children’s pets to determine their place on the naughty or nice list. * He loves some Irish accents but often needs subtitles for movies featuring them. Similarly, he requires subtitles to understand the "Jersey Shore" kids. * If North hadn’t become a Guardian, he might have pursued gardening, landscape architecture, social work, or directing feature films. However, he ruled out directing TV, retail, and politics, finding the latter two too pushy. * Patrick Hanenberger revealed that North is more closely aligned with Father Christmas figures from around the world than the commercialized American version. For instance, the German Knecht Ruprecht punished misbehaving children, grounding North’s character more in mythology. * William Joyce explained North’s origins, stating: “I came up with the idea in the 3rd grade after seeing my first James Bond movie with Sean Connery. I thought Santa Claus must be as cool as Sean Connery and imagined his life as a super cool spy and bandit. He wasn’t always good but became a hero, similar to [[Robin Hood]], protecting underprivileged kids and making their lives imaginative and joyful.” [[Category:Characters]] [[Category:Male Characters]] [[Category:Humans]] [[Category:Immortals]] [[Category:Movie Characters]] [[Category:Dreamworks]] [[Category:2010s Characters]] [[Category:2012 Character Debuts]] [[Category:Good Characters]] [[Category:Heroes]] [[Category:Guardians]] [[Category:Bandits]] [[Category:Magic Users]] [[Category:Geniuses]] [[Category:Toy Users]] [[Category:Weapon Masters]] [[Category:Rise of the Guardians]] [[Category:Portal Users]] [[Category:Summoners]] [[Category:Intangibility Users]] [[Category:Invisibility Users]] [[Category:4th Wall Aware Characters]] [[Category:Swordsmen]] [[Category:Tier 7 Characters]] [[Category:Tier 7-B]] __INDEX__
