In "Survival of the Hottest," a heatwave hits Los Angeles, prompting the students at Hollywood Arts to seek relief. Beck suggests going to Venice Beach in his Airstream RV. Trina overhears the plan and invites herself, much to everyone's annoyance. Once there, Cat leaves to find a bathroom while the rest of the gang prepares to go to the beach, only to discover they are trapped in the RV because a 7,000-pound motor home is blocking the door. The group initially waits for Cat to return and move the vehicle, but they start to become desperate for water. They eventually find out that Trina had a bottle of water hidden in her bag but had only left a cap's worth after drinking most of it. When Cat finally returns and opens the door, Trina is the first to jump out, and they all rush to enjoy the beach.
