==Trivia== *Like his ''Z'' movie counterpart, Broly's name is a pun on the vegetable broccoli. *This version of Broly is shown to be around Vegeta's age in the movie, making him slightly older than his original counterpart who was the same age as Goku. This version of Broly as an adult also lacks a tail, while the original counterpart was implied to retain his tail. *Broly is one of the three surviving full-blooded Saiyans from Universe 7 to never die throughout the series. The others being Onio and Tarble. *In ''Xenoverse 2'', Broly is given lines in his Super Saiyan (Full Power) form, despite only screaming, roaring, and grunting during his fight with Gogeta in the movie. *Broly wears Ba's ear as a makeshift sash around his waist, reminiscent of his original Dragon Ball Z incarnation's red sash. *Broly and Gogeta's battle could be an homage to the intro of ''Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3'', where his ''Z'' counterpart is seen fighting Gogeta. **Interestingly, Gogeta used the Super Kamehameha as his last move against both versions. * Broly is ironically similar to Goku in many ways: **Both are powerful gentle-hearted Saiyans who value friendship. ** Both grew up in the wildness and were trained by a father figure whom they care greatly for. ** Both acquired their Super Saiyan forms after a loved one was killed by Frieza. **Both have very limited education and are somewhat childish in nature due to their respective upbringings. *Although Broly from ''Dragon Ball Super'' and Broly from the Broly Saga are two different characters with opposite personalities, it is to be noted that the latter version's characterization in one of the what-if storylines for ''Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors'' depicted a then-amnesiac Broly with a similar personality to the one in ''Dragon Ball Super'' (which occurred several years after that game's release), which might have implied that this would have been Broly's initial personality had he not suffered from the extreme trauma that occurred shortly after his birth (as Broly's amnesia suppressed his traumatic memories enough to restore his sanity, allowing him to form a friendship with Mr. Satan who manages to calm him down after his memories resurfaced upon encountering Goku during the World Martial Arts Tournament). Interestingly enough, the Broly from the Broly Saga initially turning out gentle-hearted like Broly from ''Dragon Ball Super'' was briefly hinted at in Paragus's flashback to his and Goku's birth in ''Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan'', where the medics briefly note while discussing their respective power levels at birth that Goku, despite being born with a mere power level of 2, nevertheless was shown to have the feistiness of a typical Saiyan warrior by crying the loudest while praising him for it, while Broly by contrast was barely even crying at all (and only did so in response to Goku's crying). **Ironically, Frieza also played a major role in both the Broly from the Broly Saga and the Broly from ''Dragon Ball Super'' gaining their Legendary Super Saiyan states, as it was heavily implied in ''Shin Budokai - Another Road'', and to a lesser extent ''Shin Budokai'' that Broly gained his Legendary Super Saiyan form as a result of Frieza's attempted genocide of the Saiyans and him surviving it, while in ''Super'', Frieza triggered the transformation by murdering Paragus and then inferring the latter had been killed by a stray ki blast while Goku and Broly were still fighting. **On a similar note, just before Goku finishes off Broly in Hell in ''Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai'', Goku briefly muses the possibility of Broly and Goku being friends in another realm, which unintentionally foreshadowed how the incarnation of Broly in ''Dragon Ball Super'' befriended Goku in the ending of his film. *As the Broly from ''Dragon Ball Super'' is a gentle-hearted Legendary Saiyan, he shares similarities with his Universe 6 counterpart Kale, as both are Legendary Saiyans with gentle-hearts who have trouble controlling the power of their Legendary Super Saiyan forms, though Kale has achieved some manner of control upon achieving her Super Saiyan 2 equivalent and Goku believes Broly can do the same with training (presumably due to recognizing the similarities between Broly and Kale). **Both Broly and Kale value their friendships (Broly with Ba, Cheelai, & Lemo while Kale values her sisterly bond with Caulifla). However, their protectiveness can lead them to go overboard or even rampage (Broly was prepared to kill the drunken Daigen for his disrespectful behavior towards Cheelai had Paragus not intervened, and Kale has a fear of abandonment in at least the anime which has resulted in a history of jealousy towards individuals she fears may lead Caulifla to abandon her). ***On a similar note, Kale's manga incarnation had some similarities to Broly, in particular both unleashed their Legendary Super Saiyan states after a close one of theirs was attacked by Frieza, and both even proceeded to attack Frieza afterwards (Kale being aware of Frieza's attempt while Broly did so out of mindless rage). **Kale also differs from Broly in that she is more civilized, well mannered, and has a relatively meek personality, while Broly is more primitive, lacking in social graces, and more prone to violence, due to being trained to be a warrior by his father. However these difference actually match how Saiyans are in their respective universes as Universe 6 Saiyans are more evolved, with their civilization, and homeworld of origin still intact, and tend to be gentle-hearted and righteous, while Universe 7 Saiyans tend to be less civilized, live on adopted homeworlds due to the Saiyan civilizations that existed on Planet Vegeta and Planet Sadala of Universe 7 being destroyed, and are generally more prone to violence and brutality, despite having the capacity to become gentle-hearted and righteous. ***Kale is also female which fits with female pure Saiyans being more commonplace in Universe 6, while canonically Broly and all known pure Saiyan survivors in Universe 7 are male.
