Kandi (Formerly Harper) is Alan's second ex-wife in Two and a Half Men She is portrayed by April Bowlby. == Appearance == Kandi is a stunning young lady possessing long reddish-brown locks, azure eyes, fair complexion, and an attractive figure. She dons revealing attire and also sports a necklace adorned with a green heart pendant. Her beauty, especially her ample bosom size, attracts numerous men. == Personality == Kandi is portrayed as a 22-year-old fool. Sweet, pretty and innocent, Kandi is stupid and loves to sleep with older men (which would explain why she's with Charlie Harper, Alan and her and Judith Harper-Melnick's divorce lawyer). Walden Schmidt, couldn't believe Alan was married to her. Although Kandi is dumb, she was smart enough to sign her and Alan's divorce papers before accepting a role as an investigative reporter on a television programme called "Stiffs." Kandi seems to have issues with her father, as she always sleeps with older men. However, when her father shows up, they seem to have a great relationship. Due to their similar low intelligence, she and Jake got along well. However, Kandi's intelligence was so low that she actually made Jake look smart. Unlike Alan's divorce from Judith, Kandi and Alan still became friends afterward and were happy when they saw each other again, even though they hadn't seen each other in six years. == Biography == Kandi's family background is largely a mystery throughout the series. She is the daughter of Mandi and Andy. Kandi inherited her attractive appearance from her mother and her intellectual shortcomings from her father. So far, Kandi has only been wed once, a marriage that ended in divorce. This union occurred in 2006, following their hasty elopement to Las Vegas after Alan Harper's brother, Charlie Harper, called off his own wedding to Mia. Prior to her marriage to Alan, Kandi engaged in casual sexual relationships with her ex brother-in-law. Kandi's ex mother-in-law, Evelyn Harper, shows a preference for Alan's first wife, Judith, despite Evelyn's dislike for Judith. Evelyn harbors negative feelings towards Kandi due to her perceived lack of intelligence. Despite this, Kandi has a close bond with her stepson, Jake Harper, who shares her intellectual quirks. Kandi is first introduced in the third season as a dimwitted 22-year-old named Kimber, with whom Charlie Harper had an affair. In later episodes, Kandi was renamed Kandi. She returns because Charlie hasn't called her back about his new relationship with Mia. Kandi confronts Alan about it, and he tells her that she will find someone to love and care for her. Kandi and Alan begin a relationship together. Alan doesn't want to flaunt Kandi because he's worried about what people will think of her. Alan starts paying all of Kandi's bills and accessories. At the end of an episode of the third season, Kandi moves in with Alan. Alan gives Kandi a job as his assistant. Alan and Kandi get into an argument, which leads to Alan's ex-wife Judith Harper inviting Kandi out for a drink to gossip about Alan. Kandi and Judith return home drunk, where Kandi leaves Alan and moves in with Judith. Alan and Kandi reunite, but Judith kicks Kandi out for her affair with her ex-husband in their hot tub. Kandi and Alan are chosen as the best man and maid of honor at Charlie and Mia's wedding. Following Charlie and Mia's decision to cancel the wedding, Kandi and Alan decide to get married instead. Four months into season four, Alan and Kandi purchase a condo after Alan wins half a million dollars. Kandi kicks Alan out and files for divorce for reasons unknown. They engage in a custody battle over their dog, Chester, reminiscent of Alan and Judith's dispute over Jake. Judith provides Kandi with her ex-lawyer, ensuring Kandi retains custody and receives alimony from Alan. It appears that despite their divorce, Alan and Kandi maintain a friendship. Kandi returns to the Harper's residence for Christmas since her boyfriend is spending the holiday with his wife and children. Judith's fiancé, Herb Melnick, develops feelings for Kandi. Kandi performs piano and sings out of tune, even singing the incorrect lyrics to Christmas songs. In her last scene, Kandi auditions for a detective role on a new show called "Stiffs". It's revealed that Kandi is ending her marriage to Alan due to his body hair, including ear, nose, and chest hair, and most importantly, because she desires children and he does not. Alan decides to reconcile with Kandi and they plan to have a child upon receiving a phone call. Kandi secures a role on the TV series but signs the divorce papers before accepting it, ensuring Alan receives nothing from her in the settlement. Kandi moves out of her condo and is not mentioned again, with Alan stating he has been married twice. Kandi makes a brief return in season 10 episode I Scream When I Pee. She reaches out to Alan via email, expressing her desire to see him. She admits she wants Alan back, calling him "the best she ever had," but Alan declines, citing his loyalty to Lyndsey. Later, Kandi invites him over, pretending to be depressed, but he once again rejects her. She reflects that Alan's rejection has only made her desire him more, though she acknowledges it wouldn't be if he were to reject her. She suggests they should just have sex, as he mentioned her explanation made sense, which frightened him. Kandi visits Lyndsey's house and clarifies that there was no affair between her and Alan. They bond over their mutual surprise at Alan's rejection and admit they're not great in bed. After (for reasons unknown), Kandi has sex with Lyndsey, and they both agree to keep it a secret from Alan. == Trivia == * Her character on the crime series "Stiffs" subtly pays homage to her real-life counterpart, April Bowlby, who has made cameo appearances on both CSI and CSI: NY. * Although April Bowlby is recognized as a principal figure in the fourth season, her status is listed as a guest appearance. * Kandi attended sixth grade on two separate occasions. * She confided in Charlie in the third season that she was under the influence during her SATs. * While employed as Alan Harper's receptionist, she dozed off in the restroom, struggled with the phone, and even used his X-ray machine to peek inside a Chimichanga. * Jake found it comical that Kandi would be his stepmother, stepsister, and cousin: her father, mother, and uncle Charlie were all involved in her romantic relationships. Jake's jest inadvertently hinted at her eventual marriage to Alan. * She is among a select few women who have dated both Harper brothers. * Kandi is fifteen years younger than Alan Harper and seventeen years younger than Charlie. * In the finale of Season 12, "Of Course He's Dead Part 2," Kandi receives a call from Alan while attending a premiere for an unknown number of seasons of Stiff's. * Kandi is among the many women whose last names remain undisclosed, including Berta, Isabella, Mia, Melissa, Rose, Sherri, and others.
