Statistics Reduction is the functional inverse of Statistics Amplification, decreasing an opponent's overall parameters such as physical or magical strength, defense, or speed to hinder their fighting capabilities.

The effects of these abilities are usually temporary and can be reapplied or stacked in rapid succession to prolong and enhance their effectiveness. Statistics Reduction is most commonly seen in video game series.

The effects of Statistics Reduction are solely limited to reducing the raw stats of an opponent. The ability to eliminate an opponent's special powers should be categorized under Power Nullification. Adding additional inhibiting effects, such as poison or paralysis, should be classified under Status Effect Inducement.
