Reactive Evolution is the ability to evolve in response to threats and adverse situations, allowing the user to develop new ways to address these challenges. This evolution can manifest in various ways:

  • Developing new powers or abilities
  • Developing new resistances
  • Enhancing existing attributes. If only the latter occurs, the term "Accelerated Development" is more appropriate to avoid redundancy.

This ability is similar to Adaptation but differs in that the powers and resistances gained through Reactive Evolution are more varied and extreme. Adaptation typically involves optimizing existing resources to survive environments or occasionally acquiring new abilities or resistances. In contrast, Reactive Evolution ideally enables continuous evolution over time, providing new abilities or resistances, whereas Adaptation has clear limits.

Although Reactive Evolution is often always active, its beneficial effects do not always activate automatically and should be evaluated based on feats and scaling.

Assuming that someone with this power can acquire any ability is a No Limits Fallacy. The extent and complexity of Reactive Evolution depend on demonstrated feats and scaling, considering existing countermeasures in the setting on a case-by-case basis.
