Appearance[edit | edit source]
Brett’s appearance and personality add to his unique character on the show. He has a casual and somewhat lazy demeanor, often wearing simple, everyday clothing that reflects his laid-back approach to life. His interests in cricket and Australian rules football are strong enough that he’d rather watch sports than attend to family responsibilities, like helping Kim pick out an outfit for their daughter's first day on Neighbours.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Brett’s personality is complex. He seems devoted to his dog, Cujo, often treating her better than Kim, which humorously underscores his priorities. His infidelity with various characters, including his boss and even Kim’s friend Sharon, shows a lack of loyalty to Kim, which contrasts with his otherwise friendly and easygoing nature around his in-laws, Kath and Kel. Despite his repeated affairs, he maintains a surprisingly friendly bond with Sharon, even earning her nickname, "Shazz."
Overall, Brett’s personality combines charm and irresponsibility, making him both humorous and flawed within the family dynamic.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Brett works at Computa City and is married to Kim throughout the series. They live together with their daughter, Epponnee-Rae, but Kim frequently stays with her mother, Kath, and stepfather, Kel, due to ongoing marital issues. Brett and Kim’s relationship lacks a deep connection, leading Brett to have multiple affairs, including one with Kim’s close friend, Sharon.
Brett serves as Kel’s best man at his wedding to Kath, and he maintains a good relationship with both Kath and Kel. By the second season, he and Kim decide to try for a baby to strengthen their marriage, and Kim gives birth to Epponnee-Rae Charlene Kathleen Darlene Craig in the season finale.
Brett shares a complicated history with Sharon, as they briefly dated before he met Kim. Sharon has pursued him ever since, and in the fourth season, Brett sleeps with her. Kim catches them together, and despite his marriage to Kim, Brett admits he still has feelings for Sharon. In one episode, Kath dreams of a future where Kim and Brett split up, and Brett marries Sharon, with whom he has triplets. Brett occasionally affectionately calls Sharon “Shazz.”
A fan of cricket and Australian rules football, Brett often prefers watching sports over family activities, like helping Kim choose an outfit for their daughter's debut on Neighbours.
In Da Kath & Kim Code, Brett is drawn to his boss, Kelly, and cheats on Kim with her. Although Kim takes him back, he continues the affair. Despite his aspirations at Computa City, Brett ultimately loses his job and later works at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
In Kath and Kimderella Brett initially stays in Melbourne after his divorce from Kim, who moves back in with her mother, Kath. While Kath wins a holiday trip to Italy, Brett remains behind, eventually flying to Papilloma with Kel and Epponnee-Rae after they see Kim’s wedding on the news. Brett is shown watching MasterChef with Kel when he realizes Kim is getting married again. Upon reaching Papilloma, Brett and Epponnee-Rae interrupt Kim’s wedding to Julio, revealing the chaotic dynamics within the family.
