Mr. Energizer
Mr. Energizer is a mascot used by Energizer he was created as a solution to Energizer's need for a new mascot in countries where the Energizer Bunny could no longer be used after the 1992 legal settlement with Duracell. As part of this agreement, the Energizer Bunny retained its exclusive presence in the U.S. and Canada, while Duracell's Bunny had rights in the rest of the world.
Mr. Energizer is portrayed as a sleek, athletic, and anthropomorphic character who embodies energy and endurance. His design emphasizes human-like qualities, often seen performing impressive physical feats like running, lifting, or engaging in high-energy activities, reflecting the long-lasting power of Energizer batteries. In contrast to the playful, toy-like Energizer Bunny, Mr. Energizer presents a more serious, superhero-esque persona aimed at showing strength and vitality.
Energizer began using advanced animation techniques such as stop-motion, and later CGI, to bring Mr. Energizer to life in commercials. These ads showcased him in various scenarios where his boundless energy stood out, usually in dramatic or adventurous contexts. Carlos Alazraqui, known for his versatile voice work, provided the voice for Mr. Energizer in several of these ads, giving the character a bold, confident tone.
In some Latin American countries, both the Energizer Bunny and Mr. Energizer coexisted due to local marketing strategies, but Mr. Energizer remained the primary mascot for most international markets outside of North America.
