===The Wolverine=== After 2006, Logan returns to the Canadian wilderness, attempting to live a quiet life while grappling with the guilt of Jean Grey's death and the trauma from his past. He only leaves the forest for essential supplies. Following a bar fight, Yukio tracks him down and brings him to Japan to meet Yashida, the head of the Yashida Corporation and a man Logan saved during the Nagasaki bombing. Yashida offers to transfer Logan's immortality to himself as he is dying of cancer. When Logan refuses, he encounters Yashida's son, Shingen, and his granddaughter, Mariko, whom he later saves from a suicide attempt. That night, while dreaming of Jean, Logan is injected with a robotic parasite by Viper, which impairs his healing abilities. The next morning, he attends Yashida's funeral, where he protects Mariko from Yakuza assassins with the help of Kenuichio Harada. During the confrontation, Logan discovers that his healing factor is not working as effectively as it used to. After getting Mariko to safety, Logan follows her onto a bullet train, where he fights and defeats more Yakuza assassins. They then take refuge in a local motel, where Logan stands guard outside in the rain while Mariko sleeps. Exhausted and injured, he passes out from his wounds and has a hallucination of Jean. When he wakes, Mariko has found a veterinarian to treat his injuries. Logan and Mariko later hide in Yashida's house in southern Japan. As they grow closer, Logan shares details about his past, including his experiences in war and his relationship with Jean. Yukio has a vision of Logan's death, foreseeing him with his heart in his hand, but she is unable to warn him in time. Mariko is captured by the Yakuza, who reveal that they were hired by her corrupt fiancé, Chief of Justice Noburo Mori. Logan and Yukio confront Noburo at his luxury apartment, where Noburo discloses that Shingen was originally behind the kidnapping. However, Shingen's plans were thwarted when Logan intervened, leading to Shingen's fall into a pool. At Yashida's home in Tokyo, Wolverine discovers the parasite attached to his heart and begins to extract it. Shingen arrives and fights Wolverine, but dies in the process, restoring Logan’s healing ability. Wolverine, now fully healed, kills Shingen. Wolverine and Yukio then track Harada and Viper to the Yashida Research Center in northern Japan to rescue Mariko. At the center, Wolverine faces attacks from Harada and the Yashida family's ninja clan. Viper places Wolverine in a machine designed to extract his immortality and introduces her associate, the Silver Samurai, who can cut through Wolverine’s adamantium claws. Mariko escapes from Harada and directs the machine towards the Silver Samurai, which shatters when hit by the Samurai's sword, freeing Wolverine. The Silver Samurai, revealed to be Yashida, drills through Wolverine's adamantium claws and successfully extracts his immortality. Mariko stabs Yashida, causing him to fall to his death. As Wolverine’s bone claws regrow, he has a final hallucination of Jean before passing out. Logan bids farewell to Mariko, who has taken over as CEO of the Yashida Corporation. He then boards a plane with Yukio, who remains his bodyguard. As Yukio suggests that they can go anywhere they want, they depart for an unknown destination. Two years later, in 2015, Logan encounters Magneto and Charles Xavier at an airport. They inform him about a new threat aiming to eradicate all mutants. Between 2015 and 2023, Logan's bone claws were once again coated in adamantium, likely with Magneto's assistance.
