* He's unaware of Charlie's references to sexuality while he's tending to his garden, yet his gardening activities actually enhance his sexual life. 
* The character was initially called Greg in the early episodes of Season 2, but as he became a regular in Season 4, his first name was changed to Herb, suggesting it might be his middle name.
