==== Meeting Spider-Man ==== One day, while delivering blueprints to Oscorp, Max Dillon found himself caught in the chaos of a police chase involving Alexsei Sytsevich. As he struggled with his hands full of blueprints, a random pedestrian bumped into him, causing the papers to scatter onto the road. At that moment, a taxi, thrown into the air during the chase, came hurtling toward Max. Just as it seemed he was in danger, Spider-Man swooped in and saved him. After the taxi crash, Spider-Man helped Max to his feet and asked if he was alright. The bewildered Max stammered in awe at the fact that he was speaking to Spider-Man, who joked about how his costume made it obvious. Spider-Man then webbed up Max's blueprints, remarking that they looked important, and called him by name. Surprised, Max asked how Spider-Man knew his name, to which the hero replied that it was written on his nametag. Max confessed that he felt like a "nobody," but Spider-Man reassured him that he was a "somebody." In a lighthearted moment, Spider-Man asked Max to lick his glove, which he did, and then used the glove to comb Max's hair, further boosting his spirits. Spider-Man told Max that he needed him as his "eyes and ears in New York," which thrilled Max. Before swinging off to continue the chase, Spider-Man promised to see Max later. This encounter left Max ecstatic. Being acknowledged by Spider-Man, a famous hero, made him feel seen and valued for the first time. Over the following months, Max became obsessed with his "friendship" with Spider-Man. He devoted his life to the hero, even calling into a radio station to defend Spider-Man against criticism. During the call, Max recounted how Spider-Man had saved him, embellishing the story by claiming that they had become friends afterward. This moment solidified Max's deep, albeit one-sided, connection to Spider-Man.
