===X-Men Origins: Wolverine=== During the Vietnam War in the 1970s, the last conflict Logan and Victor fought in, Victor attempts to rape and kill a young Vietnamese woman. When soldiers from his platoon and their commanding officer try to intervene, Victor kills the commanding officer and savagely attacks the soldiers. Logan comes to his brother's aid, reluctantly assisting Victor by unsheathing his claws and preparing to fight, revealing their powers to their unit. For this serious act of insubordination, both Logan and Victor are sentenced to death and placed before a firing squad. They are shot but survive due to their regenerative healing factors. Surviving the execution, they are imprisoned. Their unique abilities soon catch the attention of Major [[William Stryker (X-Men Film Series)|William Stryker]], who visits them in their cell. Stryker offers them a way out by joining his special team of mutants, Team X. Logan and Victor agree, joining five other mutants—Wade Wilson, Agent Zero, Chris Bradley, Fred Dukes, and John Wraith—on covert missions around the world. On one mission, under Stryker's command, Team X is sent to Lagos, Nigeria, to retrieve a mysterious meteorite, later revealed to be adamantium, from a diamond trafficking operation. They attack a compound, defeat the security forces, and obtain the rock from the compound's leader, discovering it originates from a remote village. Upon reaching the village, Stryker and the team interrogate the villagers about other rocks like the one they found, learning that the rock fell from the sky as a meteor. Stryker wants more information and has Wade Wilson, the only one who can communicate in the villagers' language, interrogate them. When the village chief refuses to reveal the origins of the meteorites, believing them to be sacred, Stryker orders his team to attack the villagers. Victor is directed to kill the chief, and chaos ensues as the team starts killing civilians. However, when the mutants begin attacking, Logan intervenes to stop them. After a heated argument with Victor, Logan quits the team, refusing to kill innocent people. He is disgusted by the murders committed by his teammates, Stryker's willingness to harm civilians, and Victor's acceptance of it all. Logan walks away, ignoring Victor's calls, and abandons the group. With his departure, Team X disbands, leaving only Agent Zero and Victor loyal to Stryker. Six years later, Logan is living in western Canada in a cabin in the Canadian Rockies, working as a lumberjack. He is in a relationship with Kayla Silverfox, a schoolteacher. After years of warfare, Logan seeks a peaceful life. Kayla uses her power to calm Logan, helping him manage the nightmares of his past. One day, Agent Zero and Stryker visit Logan at his job to inform him that Bradley and Wade have been killed. Stryker asks Logan if he remembers Agent Zero, to which Logan replies by asking if Zero still shoots first and asks questions later. Zero pulls out his gun, shoots Logan's cigar, then asks if Logan still chews on cheap cigars. When Stryker tells Logan he has a job for him, Logan replies that he already has a job. Zero taunts Logan by asking if his job as a lumberjack pays 18 grand a year. Logan corrects him, saying it pays 18.5 grand a year, adding that he hasn't had to kill anyone recently. Zero asks if Logan misses it, and Logan, irritated, says he does now, before Stryker orders Zero back to the car. One night, Kayla tells Logan a story from her Native American heritage about a spirit named Kuekuatsheu who fell in love with the Moon but was tricked by the Trickster into stepping into the mortal world, from which he could never return. Kuekuatsheu was forever separated from the Moon, forced to look at her and howl whenever he saw her. While Logan is at work one day, Victor attacks Kayla. Sensing Victor's presence, Logan rushes to Kayla's abandoned car but arrives too late. Finding Kayla dead and recognizing the claw marks on the car, Logan realizes this was Victor's doing. That evening, Logan tracks down Victor in a bar and, consumed by rage, attacks him. After a brutal fight, Victor breaks Logan's bone claws on his left hand before leaving. The next morning, Logan wakes up in an emergency room where Stryker is present. Stryker offers to help Logan get revenge on Victor with an experimental procedure. Logan agrees but makes it clear his only focus is revenge. Before undergoing the adamantium procedure, Logan requests new dog tags with the name "Wolverine" on them, inspired by the story Kayla told him. Stryker infuses Logan's bones with adamantium, and he briefly flatlines. Moments later, he revives and escapes the facility after overhearing Stryker's plan to erase his memories to use his DNA for a future project. Logan flees and eventually hides in a barn. The elderly couple who owns the barn offers him food and shelter. Initially cautious, they soon warm up to Logan, giving him their son's jacket and letting him use their motorcycle. However, after offering him breakfast, Agent Zero kills the couple. The barn is bombed, but Logan escapes on the bike. After a daring chase, he takes down Zero's helicopter. After killing Zero, Logan seeks out the remaining members of Team X. He finds John Wraith and Fred Dukes in Las Vegas. Seeking revenge for Kayla's death and Stryker's betrayal, Logan questions Dukes about Stryker's activities. A misunderstanding leads to a boxing match between Logan and Dukes. Logan wins and interrogates Dukes, who reveals information about a mutant and former prisoner of Stryker named Remy LeBeau, known as Gambit. Logan and Wraith find Gambit in New Orleans and ask him about Stryker's Island, where mutants are held for Stryker's new project, Weapon XI. '''Gambit's Encounter and Battle with Victor''' Mistakenly believing Logan intends to take him back to the Island, [[Gambit (FOX)|Gambit]] attacks. Shortly after, Logan discovers Wraith's lifeless body with Victor crouching nearby, collecting DNA samples. Enraged, Logan knocks out Gambit and fights Victor. Logan gains the upper hand and is about to kill Victor when Gambit, having regained consciousness, attacks Logan from a rooftop. This distraction allows Victor to escape. After subduing Gambit again, Logan clarifies his intentions and convinces Gambit to take him to the Island. With Gambit's help, Logan arrives at Three Mile Island. There, he confronts Stryker, who reveals that Deadpool is part of his plans and that Kayla is alive and had been reluctantly working for Stryker the entire time. Victor, watching from a nearby room, listens as Stryker explains that he and Victor conspired to capture various mutants. They tricked Logan into undergoing the adamantium bonding procedure by faking Kayla's death. Stryker had recruited Kayla to seduce Logan and create an incident compelling him to undergo the procedure. Feeling betrayed, Logan likens Kayla to the Trickster who deceived him and decides to leave. Hearing Kayla's screams moments later, Logan rushes back to the facility and engages Victor in battle again. Logan defeats Victor, pinning him down and preparing to kill him. However, Kayla intervenes, persuading Logan that killing Victor would make him no better than Stryker, emphasizing that Logan is not an animal. Despite Victor's taunts, Logan listens to Kayla and chooses to spare Victor, knocking him out instead. '''Aftermath and Confrontation with Weapon XI''' Following the fight between Victor and Logan, Kayla reveals that she followed Stryker's orders because her sister, Emma Frost, is being held captive on the island with other mutants. Some of these mutants' powers were combined into Deadpool (Weapon XI). Kayla explains that she faked her death to help free her sister, a promise Stryker ultimately broke by continuing to hold Emma hostage for her mutant abilities. Despite her involvement in the deception, Kayla assures Logan that her feelings for him were genuine. Logan, understanding her predicament, agrees to help her free the mutant prisoners. After liberating the prisoners, Logan and the mutants are confronted by Weapon XI, controlled by Stryker. Logan instructs the others to find another way out while he engages Weapon XI to keep them safe. As they clash, Weapon XI uses the powers he obtained from various mutants, including Cyclops' optic beams, Wolverine's healing ability, John Wraith's teleportation, Chris Bradley's technopathy, and Wilson's retractable blades. Logan climbs a nuclear reactor's cooling tower with Weapon XI in pursuit, using Wraith's teleportation ability. Logan puts forth his best effort but ends up pinned down. Just as Weapon XI is about to decapitate him on Stryker's command, Victor intervenes, pushing Weapon XI away and saving Logan. Victor declares, "Nobody kills you but me." Logan and Victor team up against Deadpool, who teleports around them. They eventually manage to catch and stab him, but Deadpool teleports to the other side of the reactor. During the fight, Deadpool's optic blasts activate, endangering both Logan and Victor. Deadpool fires his optic blasts at Logan, who blocks them with his adamantium claws. Victor attacks Deadpool, but Logan falls over the edge of the reactor, digging his claws into the wall to climb back up as Victor is blasted by Weapon XI. Logan returns to the fight just as Deadpool is about to kill Victor. He jumps and slashes Weapon XI through the neck, decapitating him. Weapon XI's head falls into the reactor, his optic blasts still active, cutting through the reactor as his body tumbles below. '''After Defeating Deadpool''' After defeating Deadpool, Logan helps Victor out of the hole and coldly informs him that their relationship is over, stating he wants nothing more to do with him. Victor insists they can never truly be done, reminding Logan that they are still brothers and that brothers always look out for each other, before jumping off the side of the reactor cooling tower. As the reactor begins to break down, Logan jumps off the ledge and collapses upon landing. Just as a piece of the reactor is about to crush him, Gambit saves Logan by breaking it apart. They briefly part ways, with Gambit helping the children while Logan tends to Kayla. Logan carries Kayla a few steps before Stryker shoots him in the back. Enraged, Logan sprints toward Stryker but is shot in the head with adamantium bullets, causing him to fall unconscious and lose much of his long-term memory. As Stryker is about to kill Kayla, she uses her power to order him to leave, and then dies. Logan wakes up, having forgotten everything and everyone, including Gambit and Kayla. He finds Kayla's corpse and gently shuts her eyes before parting ways with Gambit. In a post-credits scene, Wolverine is seen drinking at a bar in Japan. When the bartender asks if he is drinking to forget, Wolverine replies that he's actually drinking to remember.
