==== First Clash with Spider-Man ====
After his transformation, Max Dillon, now Electro, awakens in the morgue, confused and terrified by what has happened to him. Stumbling into the city, he inadvertently charges up on electricity at Times Square, which causes a commotion among the police and New York citizens due to his strange appearance and new abilities.

Initially frightened and trying to reassure everyone that he means no harm, Max is suddenly captivated when he sees himself on the Jumbotron. For the first time in his life, people are finally noticing him. When Spider-Man arrives, Electro is shocked that his hero does not remember him. However, after reminding Spider-Man of their previous encounter, the hero appears to recall who he is. Spider-Man tries to calm the situation and succeeds in convincing Max to talk. Unfortunately, a police sniper fires at Max, causing him to retaliate. This leads to Electro being humiliated in front of the crowd by Spider-Man. As the crowd mocks him, the voices in Electro's head manipulate him into believing that Spider-Man has deceived and lied to him. Enraged, Electro attacks Spider-Man and appears to defeat him.

After seemingly defeating Spider-Man, Electro's anger and the manipulative voices drive him to take revenge on the public. However, Spider-Man returns and ultimately defeats Electro by dousing him with water, leading to Max being sent to Ravencroft Institute.

==== Escaping from Ravencroft ====
Max is taken to the Ravencroft Institute, where he is experimented on by Dr. Ashley Kafka in a basement. Electro threatens Kafka multiple times, declaring his intention to "kill the light" and bring about "a world without power, a world without mercy, and a world without Spider-Man." After being asked who he is, Max ominously replies, "I'm Electro," while demonstrating his power by blasting a hole through the doctor's glasses.

After Harry Osborn is ousted as CEO of Oscorp, he visits Electro at Ravencroft. When Harry finds Max in the basement, he begins to talk to him. Although Max initially threatens to kill Harry, the young Osborn convinces him to think bigger, claiming that they do not have much time and that he needs Max's help. This is possibly the first time anyone has ever told Max they needed him, and he is visibly moved by Harry's words.

When the guards attack Harry, he gives Max more power by tasing him. Electro then transforms into pure energy and incapacitates all the guards in the room. Appearing in front of Harry, Max initially hesitates, but Harry reassures him that they are already friends, convincing Electro to join forces. With a newfound resolve, Max agrees, and the two vow to kill Spider-Man together.

==== Infiltrating Oscorp ====
Electro receives a new suit to help control his powers, and with Harry's assistance, they successfully break into Oscorp and confront Menken. Harry leads Menken to the last of the spider venom, hoping it will cure his disease. In the meantime, Electro takes control of New York's electrical grid, which he designed, planning to use it to further his goals.

==== Second and Final Battle with Spider-Man ====
At some point, Electro learns that Spider-Man is actually Peter Parker. He shuts down most of the city's power to draw Spider-Man out for a final confrontation. After modifying his web-shooters with Gwen Stacy's help, Spider-Man leaves Gwen to face Electro alone. During the battle, Electro taunts Spider-Man and proves resistant to his initial attacks, including water. However, Gwen intervenes by hitting Electro with a NYPD car, temporarily stunning him.

After a brief argument, Spider-Man and Gwen agree on a plan to overload Electro and make him explode like a battery. As Electro recovers and resumes his attack on Spider-Man, the hero successfully webs up multiple power plugs. Following Spider-Man's command, Gwen activates the power, causing Electro's energy to be drained. In his final moments, Electro screams in pain before exploding into pieces.
