Fissionism is a supernatural ability to separate/split the target into two or more unequal parts.

The ability differs from deconstruction, which breaks the target into smaller parts that don't necessarily remain functional. Fissionism works differently, as it splits the target into multiple configurations that nevertheless retain their coherent form. A common example of this ability is the splitting of a fusion between two people into their original states.

Often this ability is able to split things according to a certain pattern. This can be the age, size, etc. of the target. An example would be splitting a person into a good and evil personality based on their morality.

Note: Splitting something into semi-identical parts of the original target could generally be considered a form of duplication.
