Purification

Purification is the act of removing contaminants from a person or object. This can mean cleansing evil spirits or filtering out materials within a substance, such as reverse osmosis in water purification. In the former case, this can be seen as a form of Soul Manipulation or Spiritual Healing and can counter Possession. Purification can also be used to remove status effects.

Types of Purification:

1. Material Purification:
   • Removes poisons, pollutants, and materials from a specific object or substance.
   • Examples: Melting metal ore to obtain its pure form, using reverse osmosis to purify water.
2. Spiritual Healing:
   • Cleanses the body and mind of evil spirits, removes curses, or eliminates dark energy.
   • Examples: Celebi purifying shadow Pokémon, Algol creating Soul Calibur from shards of the cursed Soul Edge, Mung Daal using a treadmill to exorcise a demon chicken that possessed Chowder.
3. Removal of Status Effects:
   • Cleanses individuals of status effects, including poisons, paralysis, confusion, sleep, and various other ailments.
   • Examples: Full Heals in Pokémon, Senzu Beans in Dragon Ball, Remedies in Final Fantasy, Aqua from Konosuba, Arle Nadja with the spells Purifa and Condia, and Pokémon that can use Refresh and Rest.

Possible Uses:

• Counter Possession: Removing evil spirits from possessed individuals.
• Healing: Eliminating curses and dark energy.
• Restoration: Filtering out contaminants and purifying substances.
• Status Recovery: Curing various status effects such as poison, paralysis, and confusion.

Limitations:

• Scope: The extent of purification may vary depending on the user's power and the nature of the contaminants or evil spirits.
• Energy Requirement: Some forms of purification might require significant energy or specific conditions to be effective.
• Resistance: Certain curses or dark energies might be resistant to purification efforts.
