Sealing
Sealing is typically the ability to trap or seal one or more objects within another object, though its applications vary. The mechanism behind the sealing process differs across fiction, whether through magic, chi, or other means, but the end results are similar. When used as an attack, sealing techniques can often bypass physical durability entirely.
Types:
Physical Sealing: This involves sealing physical objects, including living beings, within a containment item or another person. When used against a living being, the power can be very potent, especially if the user can perform the technique freely. However, many cases require preparation or impose drawbacks to balance this power. When a living being is sealed within another, the host becomes the container for the sealed target. The effects on the host and the sealed target vary depending on the fiction, as do the consequences if the container is destroyed.
Attribute Sealing: This type involves removing or locking attributes or concepts of a target, such as sealing their magic, chi energy, movement, or consciousness. This form of sealing denies the target use of these aspects rather than placing them in another object. The effects can be temporary or permanent, depending on the user's ability.
Soul Sealing: Usually categorized under soul manipulation, this involves sealing a being's soul, often with significant consequences for both the sealed entity and the host or object containing the soul.
