Shapeshifters are characters who can freely alter the shape and form of their bodies, allowing them to assume a wide range of identities for purposes such as impersonation or adaptation.

Characters who qualify as Shapeshifters are those who can transform their bodies into various forms at will and maintain these transformations with consistency and control. This includes characters who can change their appearance, size, and even species, not just through temporary or external power-ups, but through inherent abilities.

Examples of true shapeshifters include:

Characters who only slightly modify their forms, mutate over time, or have limited or uncontrolled transformations fall under the Transformation Users category instead. Examples of non-qualifying characters include:

  • Mario (Mario series): Uses power-ups to change forms, but does not inherently have shapeshifting abilities.
  • Acacia (Toriko): Mutates over the course of the story rather than shapeshifting at will.
  • Saiyans (Dragon Ball) and werewolves (folklore): Transformations are linked to specific triggers or conditions rather than being freely controlled shapeshifting abilities.
