Appearance

Maron is a young woman with a slender, curvaceous figure, long blue hair, blue eyes, and a noticeably well-endowed physique. She is frequently seen wearing a bright red dress with low-cut straps, white socks, and white gym shoes, often paired with a green military-style jacket. She also sports pink nail polish. When swimming, she opts for a revealing yellow bathing suit. During her time at Korin's Tower, she briefly dons a short-skirted cheongsam.

Personality

Maron is air-headed, ditzy, and often comes across as naïve or even unintelligent. This is humorously illustrated when Korin struggles to read her mind during a card game, remarking, "I've seen party balloons with more on their mind."

Although Maron is generally kind and shows concern for others, such as her repeated efforts to help Gohan, she can be shallow and self-centered. She often uses her attractiveness to her advantage, showing little awareness of how her behavior might come across. For example, she refers to Chi-Chi and Bulma as "old ladies" or "middle-aged ladies," seemingly oblivious to how offensive the comment is. In the Japanese version, this comes off as genuine cluelessness, while the English dub portrays her remarks as more mean-spirited.

Maron is also forgetful, struggling to remember basic facts—such as who Goku is, despite Krillin mentioning him multiple times. She has a tendency to flirt with other men even while dating Krillin. For instance, she makes flirtatious comments toward Yamcha and kisses Gohan, though the first incident might have stemmed from her misunderstanding their relationship due to Krillin's shy behavior. Despite her flirtations, Maron demonstrates care for Krillin and repeatedly expresses affection for him.

Master Roshi, unsurprisingly, is infatuated with Maron due to her attractive appearance and revealing outfits. Maron is mostly oblivious to his advances, though she does once react with shock when he gropes her, calling him worse than Chi-Chi, whom she previously criticized.

Maron’s attention span and memory are notably short. When Krillin declares himself unworthy of her, Maron immediately accepts another man’s offer for a ride, leaving without hesitation. While she later returns, professing her love for Krillin, she eventually leaves again, this time with multiple boyfriends she had forgotten about, never returning to Krillin’s side.

Garlic Jr. Saga

Maron first appears as Krillin's girlfriend.

During her visit to Kame House, she offends Chi-Chi by calling her a "jealous old lady" when Chi-Chi arrives demanding to know Gohan's whereabouts. Later, while Maron and Krillin are ocean diving, the Black Water Mist infects the nearby population. They avoid infection because they are underwater kissing as the mist's initial wave hits Kame House. When an infected Master Roshi attacks Maron, she defends herself by smashing a lawn chair over his head. She is later cornered by infected Chi-Chi and Bulma but is saved by Icarus before the two women can attack. Maron insists on joining Krillin and Gohan on their mission to stop Garlic Jr., even threatening to dump Krillin if he refuses.

Before heading to The Lookout to confront Garlic Jr. and the Spice Boys, Krillin leaves Maron at Korin Tower for her safety. There, she meets Korin and Yajirobe, convincing them to cook for her and even engaging them in a poker game.

After Garlic Jr.'s defeat, Krillin breaks up with Maron, believing she is too good for him. Maron reveals that she would have agreed to marry him if he had asked, but before Krillin can reconsider, she leaves with a muscular man in a sports car who offers her ice cream, driving off in delight.

Androids Saga

Maron briefly returns, searching for Krillin, who is away battling the Androids. She confesses to Master Roshi that Krillin is the only boyfriend she ever truly loved. While staying at Kame House, Roshi tells her about the Red Ribbon Army and Goku's role in its downfall, as well as the creation of Dr. Gero's androids.

When Maron asks who will protect her from the monsters, Roshi and Oolong laugh at her (in the Japanese version, she admits she doesn't understand Roshi's story, shocking him and Oolong with her naivety). Eventually, Maron grows bored waiting for Krillin to return and leaves with a group of admirers. She is never seen or mentioned again for the remainder of the series

Trivia

• Maron shares her name with Krillin's daughter, Marron, introduced later in the manga. Akira Toriyama clarified that Marron was not named after Maron. Both names share a pun based on "chestnut" (French: marron), suggesting they are separate uses of the same wordplay.
• The name "Maron" has additional puns, such as resembling "moron," reflecting her ditsy nature, and "melon," a slang term for large breasts, which aligns with her well-endowed figure.
• Maron closely resembles Bulma, sharing a similar body shape, face, and hair style, although Maron's hair is light blue with gray eyes, differing from Bulma's greenish-blue hair (or purple in the manga) and bright blue eyes. Their personalities are also distinct; Maron is ditsy and mellow, whereas Bulma is a hot-tempered tech genius.
• Like Bulma in Dragon Ball, Maron provided fan service during her appearances in Dragon Ball Z, as Bulma's fan service was toned down in the later series.
• Maron bears similarities to Mint from Dragon Ball. Both are blue-haired filler characters who briefly serve as love interests for Krillin, though Mint is younger and has darker blue hair.
• In "Battle in Kami's Lookout" and "Fight With Piccolo," Funimation credits Maron's voice actress, Leah Clark, as "Maron Clark."
• In Dragon Ball Super, Maron is referenced in episode 94. During a reunion, Android 18 threatens to kill Android 17 for saying "Maron" instead of their daughter Marron's name. This suggests that 18 is aware of Maron and Krillin's past relationship, as Krillin also appears nervous.
• A woman resembling Maron appears in Future Trunks' flashback in "Unwelcome Discovery," huddling in fear with a young girl. However, the woman has brown eyes instead of Maron's gray eyes.
• Another character similar to Maron appears in "Black Fog of Terror," a little girl among the first infected by the Black Water Mist.
• A blue-haired woman resembling Maron debuts an episode before her, reacting fearfully to Porunga's appearance.
• Maron frequently insults Chi-Chi and Bulma by calling them "old ladies" or "middle-aged ladies," leading to recurring comedic quarrels. Interestingly, Chi-Chi is one year younger than Krillin, Maron's boyfriend.
• In Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai, Marron's name is mistranslated as "Maron."
• In the Japanese version of "Transformed at Last," Krillin foreshadows Maron's debut by saying he plans to get a girlfriend after returning to Earth. This line was changed in the English dub to express homesickness.
• In the Japanese version, Master Roshi offers to motorboat Maron's breasts upon meeting her, a gesture toned down in the English dub to Roshi asking for a kiss. Ironically, Roshi later motorboats Krillin's wife, Android 18, in anime filler.
