Appearance[edit | edit source]

Buyon is a large, round-bellied pink monster with a big tail and two antennae on his head. In the anime, his eyes are orange, and his tongue is green, adding to his grotesque and alien appearance.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Buyon is depicted as a mindless and savage creature, acting on instinct rather than intellect. He exhibits no capacity for communication or complex thought, relying solely on his natural abilities and brute strength to attack his opponents. Despite his ferocity, he is not particularly intelligent and lacks strategy in combat. His primary motivation appears to be consuming anything that comes near him, as seen when he attempts to devour both Goku and Android 8. Buyon’s role as General White’s "secret weapon" suggests that he is more of a tool for destruction than an autonomous character.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Background[edit | edit source]

Buyon originates from an unnamed planet inhabited by Jigglers. He eventually found his way to Earth, where the Red Ribbon Army captured him. After the construction of Muscle Tower, he was placed on the fifth floor, serving as a deadly deterrent for any intruders attempting to breach the tower. Accessible only via a trapdoor from the sixth floor, Buyon became General White's ultimate line of defense.

Dragon Ball – Red Ribbon Army Saga[edit | edit source]

Buyon is introduced when Goku and Android 8 are dropped into the fifth floor of Muscle Tower through a trapdoor in General White's office. The monster initially proves to be an indestructible foe, with Goku's attacks, including a powerful Kamehameha, being deflected harmlessly by Buyon's blubbery body. Buyon also possesses the ability to emit electrical blasts from his antennae, making him a multi-faceted threat. He comes close to devouring both Goku and Android 8 during the battle.

However, Goku cleverly exploits Buyon's vulnerability to extreme cold. After creating a small hole in the wall of the tower, he exposes Buyon to the freezing air of the surrounding environment, freezing the monster solid. Taking advantage of this weakness, Goku shatters Buyon with a single decisive kick.

Buyon's notoriety was well-known among the Jingle Villagers, who had heard rumors of a fearsome beast within Muscle Tower, raising their concerns for Goku's safety.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes – Supreme Kai of Time Saga[edit | edit source]

An alternate version of Buyon competes in the Super Space-Time Tournament alongside notable Red Ribbon Army figures, including Mercenary Tao, Ninja Murasaki, Colonel Silver, General White, General Blue, and Major Metallitron. Despite their efforts, Buyon and his team are eliminated during the first round, leading to the erasure of their space-time.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Buyon is the first opponent in the series to take a direct hit from a Kamehameha without sustaining any damage.
  • He is also the first confirmed extraterrestrial being Goku ever fought.
  • It is implied that Suno's father was referring to Buyon when he mentioned the monster inhabiting Muscle Tower, rather than the kindhearted Android 8.
  • Although Buyon's species, the Jigglers, originates from outer space, it remains unexplained how Buyon ended up living on Earth.
  • Buyon's name is likely derived from the Japanese term buyobuyo (ぶよぶよ), which translates to "flabby" or "soft."
  • His name also resembles "Bouillon," a type of broth, which may reference the word's root meaning "boil."
