Appearance

Jack's character design was created by Shuji Maruyama. He has sharp purple eyes, fair skin, and spiked blonde hair, with two longer strands framing his face. His signature accessories include a neckband reminiscent of Yugi Muto’s, a belt buckle, and earrings shaped like the letter "A," symbolizing his last name. Jack wears a long white trench coat with purple lining and spiked shoulders over a deep-cut white shirt, paired with grey pants and white boots. During Turbo Duels, he dons a sleek, white motorcycling suit designed similarly to his coat, along with a standard white helmet.

Personality

In the English dub, Jack speaks with a Cockney accent, shortening words like “little” to “lit’l” and pronouns like “my” and “me” to “moi” and “mei.” He frequently uses motorcycle-themed puns.

Jack shares some personality traits with Seto Kaiba—especially early on. He begins the series as arrogant and self-centered, viewing opponents as mere tools for entertainment. As "The King" of Turbo Duels, he follows a philosophy of relentless pursuit, intentionally placing himself in tough spots to dramatically crush his opponents with comeback strategies. However, after losing to Yusei, Jack begins to reflect on his ideals and embarks on a journey to become a true Duelist. His character arc gains momentum after meeting Carly Carmine, prompting him to acknowledge his past mistakes and work to repay those he once disregarded.

Unlike Kaiba, Jack becomes more expressive and emotionally open over time. Although initially manipulative—even using friends to get what he wants—he matures and grows more considerate. He takes pride in entertaining audiences during Duels and is known for his dramatic flair. He refers to himself in the third person and often proclaims to the crowd, “There is only one King—and that is me!” In the dub, he’s also called “The Master of Faster” and “King of Cards,” often exclaiming, “Let’s kick this Turbo Duel into overdrive!” and, after victories, “Who’s the Master of Faster? Who rules the Duel? That’s right, it’s me, Jack Atlas!”

During his Duel with Rex Goodwin, Jack declares he no longer seeks to reclaim his title as King, instead fighting to protect Carly and his friends. After Goodwin’s defeat, he joins Yusei and Crow in aiding others, though he retains a gruff and often insensitive demeanor—especially evident in his last conversation with Carly before leaving the city.

Outside of Dueling, Jack struggles with basic life skills and has been fired from multiple jobs in a single day. He also has poor financial habits, once spending 3000 yen ($30 USD) on a cup of coffee and running up a 36,000 yen ($360 USD) tab at the same shop—much to Crow’s annoyance. Jack has a deep love for ramen, a passion dating back to his childhood with Yusei and Crow at Martha’s home.

He believes Dueling is a battle between souls and sees the use of dark, manipulative cards as unworthy of true Duelists. His strong Duelist pride is shown when he reacts with outrage upon learning that Rex Goodwin manipulated his past victory over Dragan, leading him to angrily confront Lazar and shout at Leo.

In the dub, Jack's personality is portrayed as more antagonistic, with his redemption arc downplayed significantly. For instance, he falsely frames Rally with the stolen Duel Runner chip—a crime Rally committed on his own in the original Japanese version, where Jack remains unaware. Dub Jack retains a harsher and more arrogant demeanor even after his supposed change, whereas his original counterpart shows genuine remorse and a desire to grow.

Biography

Background

Jack Atlas was born in Satellite and orphaned during the catastrophic Zero Reverse incident, which claimed the lives of his parents. As a child, Jack was a solitary figure who kept to himself and rarely interacted with other children. His life began to change when he met Yusei Fudo and Crow Hogan, forming a close bond with them. The trio was raised by a kind woman named Martha, who became a maternal figure in their lives.

During their teenage years, Jack, Yusei, and Crow met Kalin Kessler. Together, they formed a group known as The Enforcers (Team Satisfaction in the original), aiming to rise above the harsh conditions of Satellite by becoming its top Duelists. Their group gained notoriety by defeating Duelists across all the zones of Satellite. However, Kalin eventually became consumed by the power and prestige of their success, turning increasingly aggressive. His obsession peaked when he forced a young boy into a Duel and assaulted him after winning.

Disturbed by Kalin’s descent into brutality, Jack and Crow left the team. Later, when Kalin went on the run from Sector Security, Yusei reached out to Jack for help. Reunited, the former teammates found Kalin holed up in an abandoned storage facility, attempting to battle Sector Security. The group tried to reason with him and stop the conflict. When Kalin continued his assault, Yusei intervened to protect a wounded officer, while Jack and Crow restrained Kalin in a separate room. Yusei tried to take the blame, hoping to shield Kalin from arrest, but ultimately failed. Kalin was captured, and The Enforcers disbanded.

In the aftermath, Jack and Yusei often spent time with other Satellite residents like Nervin, Blitz, Tank, and Rally. Around this time, Jack acquired the powerful card Red Dragon Archfiend, which would later become his signature card.

In a pivotal moment, Jack Dueled Yusei and defeated him. Afterward, he offered Yusei a cryptic lesson, stating that victory couldn’t be achieved by simply using Monster, Spell, or Trap Cards alone—but by uniting them with something greater. He pointed to his heart and said, “All you need to amass yourself in victory is right here.” At the time, Yusei didn’t understand the meaning behind Jack’s words.

Eventually, Jack and Yusei grew apart due to differing ambitions. Jack sought fame and greatness, dreaming of becoming “King.” He often isolated himself in an abandoned theater where he sat on a makeshift throne, distancing himself from his old friends. Though he rarely interacted with them, he still looked out for Rally on occasion—once stepping in to save him from bullies, though leaving immediately afterward without speaking.

It was in that theater that Jack met Lazar, an emissary of Rex Goodwin. Lazar convinced Jack that the birthmark on his arm signified a special destiny and that he could fulfill his dreams by going to New Domino City. To do so, he would have to steal Yusei’s custom-built Duel Runner and his prized Stardust Dragon card, then escape through the trash pipeline connecting Satellite to New Domino.

Jack agreed. He tied up Rally and placed him in a small boat, setting him adrift in the sea. He lured Yusei to the scene, forcing him to choose between saving Rally or stopping Jack. As Yusei jumped into the water to rescue Rally, Jack seized the opportunity to take Stardust Dragon and the Duel Runner. He escaped into New Domino City through the underground pipeline, leaving behind his friends—and the life they once shared.

At an unspecified point, the Duel Runner Jack stole from Yusei broke down. In the English dub, his new machine, Phoenix Whirlwind (known as Wheel of Fortune in the Japanese version), is depicted as the same Duel Runner rebuilt and heavily modified.

After arriving in New Domino City, Jack quickly rose to fame, becoming the reigning Turbo Dueling Champion. He moved into the estate of Rex Goodwin, who worked to obscure Jack’s true origins from Satellite. Branded as the "King of Duelists," Jack became a celebrity, beloved by the citizens of New Domino. His popularity was so immense that he and his ace monster, Red Dragon Archfiend, were both turned into action figures.

At some point, Jack faced Bolt Tanner in a Turbo Duel and defeated him in a single turn—a feat he would later repeat against Dragan during a Duel King title match.

The Fortune Cup

Two years after his rise to fame, Yusei entered New Domino City to reclaim his stolen Stardust Dragon card. Jack agreed to face him in a rematch, but their Duel was suddenly interrupted by the appearance of a mysterious red dragon—later identified as the Crimson Dragon. Following this, Rex Goodwin revealed that Jack was one of the "Signers," chosen warriors destined to prevent the resurrection of a dark god foretold by a Pre-Incan prophecy.

Although troubled by the fact that he technically lost to Yusei, Jack went along with Goodwin's plans. He decided that if he could defeat Yusei in an official setting, it would validate his title once and for all. In a symbolic gesture of sportsmanship and rivalry, Jack returned Stardust Dragon to Yusei, ensuring that they would Duel as equals in the upcoming Fortune Cup.

As Yusei climbed his way through the tournament, defeating every challenger, he finally earned the right to face Jack for the title of King of Turbo Duels. Before the match, Jack recounted the events of the past two years that led to his rise and acknowledged the cost of his ambition. Now, standing face to face with his former friend, Jack asked Goodwin to release Rally and the others, declaring that there was no longer any need to keep them as leverage. Once Yusei saw his friends freed on the broadcast, Jack affirmed, “There’s nothing holding us back now.”

During the Duel, Jack refused to let Yusei win easily. He revealed that in order to pursue the path of the King, he had sacrificed everything—his home, his friends, and his past. He believed that the Crimson Dragon's birthmark had been the catalyst for all of it. Now that Yusei had the same chance to become King without making those sacrifices, Jack couldn’t accept it. He felt Yusei needed to experience loss to earn the title.

As the Duel intensified, the Crimson Dragon appeared once again, whisking Jack, Yusei, Luna, and Akiza into another dimension where they were shown visions tied to their destinies. Jack urged Yusei to press on, believing that their Duel was the key to unlocking the Dragon’s power. He unleashed a devastating combo in hopes of finally defeating Yusei, but Yusei anticipated it and managed to counter with his own strategy.

In the climax of the match, Yusei's Stardust Dragon launched a final assault, destroying Red Dragon Archfiend and bringing Jack’s Life Points to zero. Jack’s Duel Runner was totaled in the crash, sending him hurtling into a guardrail. He was thrown from the wreckage, badly injured.

As Jack was carried away on a stretcher, Yusei was crowned the new King of Turbo Duels. Despite his defeat, Jack offered words of encouragement and wisdom to Yusei, marking the beginning of a new chapter—not just for Yusei as a champion, but for Jack as a man seeking redemption.

Dark Signers

After his loss to Yusei, Jack was quietly transferred to Domino Hospital to recover away from public scrutiny. While recuperating with a broken arm, Carly Carmine—disguised as a nurse—snuck into his room, hoping to secure an exclusive interview. However, before she could speak with him, Trudge, now under the influence of the Dark Signers, suddenly appeared and challenged Jack to a Duel.

Unable to hold his cards due to his injury, Jack asked Carly to assist him during the match. Working together, they managed to defeat Trudge, though the intensity of the battle caused part of the hospital to explode. As Jack collapsed from exhaustion, he asked Carly to sneak him out before reporters swarmed the scene. Thinking quickly, she disguised Jack as a covered corpse on a gurney and wheeled him out unnoticed.

Jack awoke later in Carly’s apartment after dreaming about a mysterious gathering of the Dark Signers. When Carly entered to check on him, she discovered he had already left. Tracking him to the monorail station, she found him attempting to leave the city. Rather than let him go, Carly convinced Jack to visit an amusement park with her to unwind—though her original intention was still to get that interview. However, after seeing how deeply Jack was hurt by the loss of his title to Yusei, her motives shifted.

During their time together, Jack began to open up, expressing guilt over betraying his friends and shame for letting Goodwin manipulate him. Carly told him that the real Jack Atlas—the one who cared, who was human—was returning, and that the false King Yusei defeated was just a mask. She encouraged him to make amends and, in the dub, urged him to apologize to Yusei. Jack put on his coat, nodded in agreement, and vowed never to let himself be used again.

While at Carly's apartment, Jack received a call from Mina Simington and flew with her to Satellite, where they arrived just in time to witness Yusei’s battle with Kalin. During the Duel, Yusei was critically injured and carried away by Crow for medical attention. Jack demanded the helicopter land, but Mina reminded him he had no Duel Runner and nowhere to go. Frustrated, Jack was forced to return to New Domino City and wait for the Dark Signers’ next move.

Back in the city, Jack and Mina warned Carly to stay out of the conflict and, to protect the truth, Jack destroyed the memory chip in her camera. Once Goodwin had Jack’s Duel Runner repaired, Jack told Mina that he would head to Satellite—not to follow the “Road of the King,” but to forge his own path forward.

When the Arcadia Movement headquarters were struck by a Dark Signer geoglyph, Jack dodged through the inferno as the massive symbol formed. Determined to help, he raced into the building, unaware that Carly was the Dark Signer behind the attack. After the Duel concluded, Jack encountered Luna, Leo, Yanagi, and Tanner evacuating. They informed him that Akiza was still inside and might be in danger.

Inside, Jack discovered Carly’s broken glasses but no sign of her. He found Akiza unconscious and carried her to safety, believing Carly had been sacrificed to the Earthbound Immortals. He rushed Akiza to the hospital, still shaken by the loss.

While Akiza remained in a coma, her parents, Hideo and Setsuko, arrived at her side. Jack suggested that Yusei might be the one to help her—and ultimately, Yusei succeeded. Jack reflected on how little the Signers truly knew about one another and noted that it was Yusei who had brought them all together in the first place.

Jack, along with the other Signers, was invited to Rex Goodwin’s residence to uncover more about the origins and purpose of both the Signers and the Dark Signers. Goodwin explained that the Signers are bound by fate, drawn together by destiny to counter the darkness threatening the world. Upon learning of the Dark Signers’ powers and their reliance on human sacrifices to summon the "Earthbound Immortals," Jack became convinced that Carly had been one of the victims.

Later, seeing Yusei’s shaken state following his confrontation with Kalin, Jack struck him—hoping the physical jolt would help reignite Yusei’s fighting spirit. Yusei, rather than retaliate, thanked Jack, realizing he couldn’t afford to falter. Inspired by this, Jack reaffirmed his own purpose—not just to fight, but to protect Carly’s memory.

When the Dark Signers released a black fog across Satellite, the Signers, accompanied by Leo and Mina, were flown there in a helicopter piloted by Trudge. Upon landing, they reunited with Martha, who was overjoyed to see Jack again after so many years. The reunion was cut short when they discovered Rally, Crow, and the others were missing. During the visit, Mina noticed Jack quietly clutching Carly’s broken glasses and speaking about fighting to protect people. Hurt by his feelings for Carly, she grew visibly upset.

That night, Roman appeared to challenge them. Jack attempted to confront him, but Yusei stopped him, insisting it was too dangerous to engage a Dark Signer there. Trusting Yusei’s judgment, Jack evacuated Martha and the children to safety. However, John, Mitch, and Taka slipped away, hoping to support Yusei. When Roman summoned his Earthbound Immortal, Jack arrived just in time to save John and Mitch from being absorbed as sacrifices.

After Roman’s defeat, Jack stood alongside Akiza, Luna, Leo, and Yusei as the remaining Dark Signers emerged from the shadows. To Jack’s horror, Carly was among them. He chased after her, demanding to know why she had joined them. Her only response was cryptic: “If you want the answer, come find me.”

The Signers then split up to confront the Dark Signers at the four control towers surrounding the Original Ener-D Reactor. Jack headed to the Hummingbird tower, where Carly awaited him on her own Duel Runner.

During their intense Turbo Duel, Carly activated the card “Enlightenment,” plunging Jack into a terrifying vision of a future where he lost the Duel and died. In this twisted reality, Carly kissed him, reviving him as a Dark Signer (in the dub, he’s infected by the spreading darkness). As partners in darkness, they destroyed the other Signers and ruled a hellish world as King and Queen. But amid the vision, Carly’s broken glasses slipped from Jack’s coat, snapping him back to reality and reminding him of who she truly was.

Jack confronted her, declaring that this future wasn’t what she truly desired. He activated his Trap Card, giving Carly a choice: heal herself or deal damage to Jack equal to half the ATK of “Fortune Lady Earth.” As she prepared to strike, she hesitated, then chose to save him instead—refusing to win at the cost of her humanity.

But the duel wasn’t over. The darkness wouldn’t let go so easily. Carly’s Earthbound Immortal, “Aslla piscu,” possessed her body and forced her to continue. With no control over her actions, she successfully summoned the monstrous entity, pushing the Duel into its final, tragic phase.

After Carly summoned her Earthbound Immortal, Jack focused all his energy on saving her, realizing at last that he truly loved her. His resolve triggered a miraculous response— the Marks of the Dragon vanished from the other Signers and appeared together on Jack’s back. This allowed him to summon Majestic Red Dragon. Jack attempted to end the Duel in a draw, believing that if Carly had to die, then he would die alongside her.

However, Carly's true self briefly surfaced. Seizing control, she activated a Trap Card that ensured her defeat. As she disintegrated into dust, she and Jack shared a final embrace, and Carly confessed her love to him before vanishing. Heartbroken, Jack activated the control unit, his mission complete.

Following Akiza’s Duel with Misty Tredwell, the sun set before the last unit could be activated. Suddenly, the condor geoglyph formed in the sky, signaling the arrival of the King of the Netherworld, who emerged from the Original Ener-D Reactor and began advancing on the city. The Crimson Dragon transported the Signers to Goodwin’s island residence, where Jack noticed that the Stairway to the Dragon Star had smashed through the building. At the top stood Goodwin, who revealed he had become both a Dark Signer and a Signer by grafting Roman’s arm onto his own.

To welcome the Ruler of the Underworld, Goodwin planned to sacrifice a Signer through a ceremonial Turbo Duel. Jack, Yusei, and Crow confronted him together in a 3-on-1 Duel. During the fight, Goodwin tried to tempt Jack into abandoning Yusei and seizing the title of true King for himself. Remembering Carly’s sacrifice, Jack refused. As the Duel intensified, Jack’s Life Points dropped to 1, and he eventually crashed, unable to continue. After Yusei defeated Goodwin, Jack was saved by Majestic Star Dragon.

Pre-World Racing Grand Prix

In the aftermath of the Dark Signer battle, Jack joined Yusei and Crow in developing a new Duel Runner engine. During a test, the prototype overloaded and exploded. Later, Jack helped investigate the mysterious Duelist known as Ghost. After Yusei defeated him, they discovered Ghost was a robot—hinting at a new threat on the horizon.

Jack often visited Café la Geen, where he spent extravagantly on gourmet coffee like Blue-Eyes Mountain. Crow scolded him for slacking off and wasting money instead of earning it for their projects. Jack made several attempts to find honest work but was fired from every job due to his inflated ego and obsession with being a Signer. After one such failure, Jack and Carly uncovered a shady money lender named Don Piero, who had been scamming people into signing fraudulent contracts. Jack challenged him to a Duel, wagering his Red Dragon Archfiend and Phoenix Whirlwind. Though he won, he still couldn’t hold down a steady job afterward.

When Akiza faced her final Turbo Duel exam, Jack and Crow helped Yusei modify her Duel Runner so she could compete. They all supported her during her first official race, in which she defeated Trudge. After discovering that some students tried to sabotage Akiza, Jack responded by physically confronting and beating them up.

Not long after, Carly informed Jack about a gang of Duel Runner thieves. Motivated by pride, Jack tracked them down. During the confrontation, one of the thieves pulled a gun, but another man jumped in the way and took the bullet. Trudge arrived and revealed that the injured man was an undercover agent named Kaz. Feeling responsible, Jack borrowed Kaz’s Chaos King Archfiend and hunted down the gang. He was beaten multiple times but eventually found their hideout. There, he challenged the ringleader to a deadly Standing Duel. On the brink of defeat, Jack summoned Kaz’s Synchro Monster and turned the Duel around. By the time Trudge and his men arrived, Jack had already subdued the entire gang. He returned the card to the recovering Kaz, and the two shook hands—Jack promising to Duel him properly one day.

Determined to become more self-reliant, Jack began developing practical skills. One morning, he built a table and chairs out of leftover parts. Unfortunately, his craftsmanship failed—Crow sat down and the chair collapsed beneath him.

After Leo and Luna lost to Lester, Jack and Crow grew concerned over recent developments. The two decided to find Yusei and get to the bottom of what was troubling him.

When they met with him, Yusei confided that he was uneasy about Ghost and believed that the mysterious organization Iliaster was behind everything. Roman had once hinted that a man from Iliaster had influenced him to become a Dark Signer. Yusei also suspected that the World Racing Grand Prix was part of Iliaster’s broader scheme, especially given Sherry’s warnings. The trio resolved to master Vizor’s Accel Synchro Summon to counter Iliaster’s plans and protect the city.

When Yusei took in a mysterious amnesiac named Bruno, Jack was immediately distrustful—especially after catching Bruno working on his Phoenix Whirlwind without permission.

When Jack was suddenly arrested by Sector Security, word quickly spread that he was a suspect in a series of Duel Runner incidents. Trudge presented security footage to Yusei, Bruno, and Crow, showing what appeared to be Jack intentionally destroying Duel Runners during Duels. The culprit used Jack’s Phoenix Whirlwind and an identical Deck, leading everyone to believe Jack was responsible.

After escaping custody, Jack went in search of the true perpetrator. He eventually confronted an imposter—an exact duplicate who brazenly called himself “The King.” In a shocking twist, Jack was defeated by his own monster, Red Dragon Archfiend, and seemingly fell into the sea.

It was later revealed that the imposter was a Duelbot created by the Three Pure Nobles, specifically Jakob, as part of their plan to manipulate the Signers using a mysterious "circuit." Though Jack survived, he was captured and imprisoned in a cave, where he was shown footage of the Duelbot causing chaos on the highway. The Nobles monitored him closely with a mind-restraining device.

Witnessing his friends—Yusei, Crow, and Kaz—get hurt while trying to uncover the truth, Jack’s overwhelming willpower shattered the machine restraining him. Freed from his mental prison, he escaped the cave and raced after the imposter. He intercepted the Duelbot just as it was about to strike Yusei and challenged it to a rematch.

Throughout the Duel, the imposter mocked Jack, claiming he had grown weak. Jack quickly summoned Red Dragon Archfiend using Trust Guardian, but was pushed into a corner when the imposter countered with his own powered-up version of the same monster. Just as Jack seemed to gain the upper hand, the Duelbot unleashed a terrifying move—summoning three Red Dragon Archfiends in alternate colors: blue, purple, and yellow.

The three dragons nearly wiped out Jack’s Life Points, but his own Red Dragon Archfiend, shielded by Trust Guardian, held firm. With one final push, Jack summoned Majestic Red Dragon, absorbed the ATK of the imposter’s monster, and launched a decisive attack. The resulting blast destroyed the Duelbot and all of its cards.

Crash Town

Jack also made an appearance in Crash Town. After Lawton called off his Duel with Kalin and Yusei and tried to shoot Kalin instead, he was intercepted by Crow’s Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind. Barbara then attempted to threaten Nico and West to gain control over Kalin, but Jack intervened, warning her that while he doesn't like harming women, he'd gladly make an exception for her.

Before returning to New Domino City, Jack and the others said goodbye to Kalin, who chose to remain in Crash Town to protect Nico and West after their father’s death.

World Racing Grand Prix

In the first round of the WRGP, Jack took the lead position against Team Unicorn, facing off against Andre. The Duelist who rounded the first corner of the track first would earn the right to play the first turn. Jack seemed to secure the lead, but Andre activated the overboost system, cutting ahead to take the first move.

Determined to dominate with raw power, Jack summoned Red Dragon Archfiend early, expecting a clash of Power Decks. However, Andre countered skillfully, destroying Jack’s monster and damaging the Phoenix Whirlwind in the process. Unaware of the extent of the damage, Jack pressed on while Yusei and Bruno observed the situation from the pit and called him back. Jack refused to quit and continued the Duel.

After taking some heavy hits, Jack managed to re-summon Red Dragon Archfiend and deal Team 5D’s first damage of the match. Andre, however, struck back and ended the Duel using the effect of Speed World 2. The earlier damage to Jack’s Duel Runner caused its braking system to fail, and it crashed violently. Though injured, Jack walked the Phoenix Whirlwind off the track and handed the "active Duelist" tag to Akiza just in time to prevent Team 5D’s disqualification.

Jack was hospitalized, cared for by Carly, Mina, and Stephanie. Despite his injuries, he forced himself to return to the arena to support Yusei during his Duel with Jean. After Yusei’s win, Jack proudly congratulated him, knowing their dream was still alive.

Later in the tournament, Jack Dueled Nicolas after Crow defeated Hermann. Thanks to the effect of Power Giant, Jack avoided the final blow from Nicolas’ dark card, Doom Ray, and instead turned the tide—defeating Nicolas, destroying his Duel Runner, and securing Team 5D’s advancement to the finals.

Upon learning about Diablo—the Duelbot army unleashed by Primo—Jack teamed up with Kaz to help stop the threat. After defeating several Ghosts, they broke off to find more, but the remaining bots attacked Yusei, Sherry, and Elsworth. Sherry and Elsworth were quickly overwhelmed, leaving Yusei to stand alone. As the sky darkened ominously, Jack realized that a much greater catastrophe was looming over the entire city.

Jack traveled to Nazca with Yusei after the latter received an email from Greiger. In the message, Greiger revealed that he had a troubling dream where Jack was killed by his own "Red Dragon Archfiend" and invited both Duelists to Nazca. Greiger urged Jack to discover a new way of Dueling, but Jack stubbornly clung to his classic power-based strategy. That evening, Jack Dueled Max, Greiger’s younger brother. Although Jack quickly brought out "Red Dragon Archfiend", Max used a series of traps to reflect the attack, knocking Jack off his Duel Runner and forcing the Duel to end prematurely. Puzzled by his defeat, Jack left the group to reflect on his strategy.

While riding alone, Jack stumbled across a ruined village inhabited by only one old man. When Jack inquired about the devastation, the man explained it was the work of the Crimson Devil. Moments later, he was possessed by the Familiar of Red Nova, who challenged Jack to a Duel in a nearby temple, offering him power if he won—or threatening to use Jack’s body as a vessel to awaken Red Nova if he lost.

Ignoring Max’s warnings, Jack entered a hidden passage beneath the temple and found the Familiar. Their Duel began as a ritual, and Jack quickly lost significant Life Points due to the Familiar’s burn tactics. Meanwhile, Yusei, Greiger, and Max arrived at the temple, only to be trapped inside as the Familiar sealed the exit. Deep within the abyss below the Duel, a monstrous presence stirred—Red Nova, an ancient "Earthbound Immortal" said to have been sealed by the Crimson Dragon 10,000 years ago. Jack was stunned to realize that if he lost, Red Nova would return.

Despite the odds, Jack managed to Summon "Red Dragon Archfiend". The Familiar, on the verge of defeat, countered with his ace, "Abyss Ruler Mictlancoatl". Jack dodged the attack, but Red Nova began to awaken. Greiger revealed that Red Nova had once been stopped by a warrior who wielded Blazing Soul, and he believed Jack to be the heir to that legacy—shocking Yusei. As Red Nova prepared to strike, the Crimson Dragon intervened, helping Jack harness the power of Blazing Soul and evolve his monster into "Red Nova Dragon". With it, Jack overwhelmed the Familiar and won the Duel. He and Yusei then bid farewell to Greiger, Max, and Annie before returning to New Domino City.

Sometime later, Jack led Yusei, Crow, and Bruno on a mission to find Red Demon’s Noodle, a new cup ramen brand. During their search, they encountered Lazar, who escaped before they could question him. Jack later devised a plan to lure Lazar out by promoting the ramen with a public stand. Crow, having lost a game of rock-paper-scissors, dressed up as Cup Ramen Man. After defeating a few challengers, Lazar appeared again, but slipped away once more. Eventually, they caught up with him and Crow challenged him to a Duel. Upon losing, Lazar was forced to explain what he knew about the secret organization Iliaster.

During the interrogation, Lazar recounted his past—and how cup ramen played a major role. Moved, Jack gave him the entire Red Demon’s Noodle stock. When Lazar failed to give any useful information, Sherry destroyed the ramen, much to Jack’s horror. Eventually, Lazar recalled that Iliaster’s true identity was hidden within Sector Security’s database, disguised as a Turbo Duel game. Akiza cleared the first challenge easily, but Jack lost, blaming the game for needing combos. Yusei then demonstrated a different approach and succeeded, revealing the organization’s name: Momentum Express Development Organization.

Jack joined the group as they investigated the company and found its operations highly suspicious. After Yusei, Sherry, and Bruno were pulled into a wormhole by Clark Smith, the Signers’ marks protected the others from Iliaster’s tampering with history. Jack and the remaining Signers, along with Elsworth, regrouped with Yusei and Bruno at the docks.

Later, Jack, Crow, and Akiza attended an Exhibition Duel featuring Team Ragnarok. Jack was selected by Dragan to Duel. He opened with "Red Dragon Archfiend", but Dragan used Jack’s aggression to his advantage and Synchro Summoned "Thor, Lord of the Aesir". As "Thor" and "Red Dragon Archfiend" clashed, the impact darkened the sky and shook the arena, forcing Lazar to halt the Duel to prevent further damage.

In the WRGP, Jack faced Yoshizo of Team Taiyo in the opening round. He brought out "Red Dragon Archfiend" early, but Yoshizo’s defense strategy stalled him. Jack eventually destroyed "Hand-Holding Genie" and pierced through Yoshizo’s defenses with "Lancer Archfiend". However, in his match against the second wheeler, Jinbei, Jack was forced into a draw. He sacrificed "Red Dragon Archfiend" with "Shockwave", but only Jack lost all his Life Points due to Jinbei’s "Gift of the Mystical Elf". At the pit stop, Jack warned Crow about Jinbei’s tactics, trusting his instincts. Jack and the others later watched in awe as Yusei Summoned "Shooting Star Dragon". After the match, Team 5D's congratulated Team Taiyo on a well-fought Duel.

Jack was present when Team Ragnarok explained the origin of the Aesir cards. Dragan revealed that he once Dueled Jack while he was King, but threw the match under orders from Lazar in exchange for money for his father's treatment. Shocked, Jack vowed to settle the score when Team 5D's and Team Ragnarok met again in the WRGP.

The day before the rematch, Jack was visibly troubled upon learning that Dragan had intentionally lost their previous Duel. Wanting answers, he confronted Lazar and, after threatening him, got confirmation that Dragan's claims were true. Later, at Poppo Time, Jack arrived shortly after the others had finished watching his old Duel on DVD. Leo tried to lift his spirits, reasoning that Dragan threw the Duel only to obtain money. However, Jack furiously shouted back, insisting that true Duelists never sell their pride for money (in the dub, he rages because it makes his title feel like a lie). Yusei later approached Jack and managed to calm him down with a few encouraging words.

The following day, the Duel began. Jack managed to take the inside lane at the first corner, securing the first turn. As fate would have it, both Duelists drew the exact same opening hands as in their first match. Jack repeated his original plays, but this time Dragan activated a trap he had deliberately held back before. Jack countered with his own trap and Summoned "Top Runner," boosting "Red Dragon Archfiend’s" strength.

However, Dragan soon turned the tables by Summoning "Thor, Lord of the Aesir," and used its effect to destroy "Red Dragon Archfiend." The audience and Team 5D’s were shocked by the brutal move. Left without his ace, Jack built up his defenses, but Dragan crushed his field and left him with only 900 Life Points.

In a dramatic comeback, Jack tapped into the power of Blazing Soul and performed Double Tuning to Summon his new ace, "Red Nova Dragon," stunning everyone, including Team Ragnarok. Despite Dragan's strong resistance, Jack prevailed. Dragan acknowledged Jack’s strength but warned that Team Ragnarok would ultimately emerge victorious. As "Thor" revived due to its effect, Jack’s Life Points dropped to just 100.

Next, Jack faced Brave, the second wheeler of Team Ragnarok. Weakened from the last Duel, Jack was defeated after "Thor’s" effect once again drained his Life Points and destroyed "Red Nova Dragon."

During the WRGP finals, Jack was the first Duelist up for Team 5D’s. He faced Lester and defeated him swiftly using "Red Nova Dragon" and "Force Resonator." His next opponent, Primo, fell just as quickly when "Red Nova Dragon" destroyed "Meklord Emperor Wisel." However, this had been part of Team New World’s strategy all along. Jakob, their final Duelist, arrived and quickly defeated Jack with a single attack from "Meklord Emperor Granel," whose ATK had been powered up by "Infinite Aura" and "Red Nova Dragon’s" energy. Jack barely made it back to the pit and was rushed to the infirmary on a stretcher, accompanied by Carly, Mina, and Stephanie.

Visions of the Future and the Duel Against Aporia

Jack, along with the rest of Team 5D’s, witnessed the future shown by the Three Pure Nobles. Though shaken, Jack maintained faith in Yusei and the path they were forging. When the Emperors merged into Aporia, Jack and Crow followed Yusei onto the Daedalus Bridge to support him in the battle.

Ark Cradle and the Battle Against Aporia

Inside the Divine Temple, Jack was separated from the others by a trap and grouped with Leo and Luna. They reached the central gear and encountered Aporia, who had been revived by Z-one. He forced them into a deadly 3-on-1 Duel using devices linked to their heartbeats. Jack summoned "Red Dragon Archfiend," but Aporia destroyed it due to a misstep by Leo. Jack and Luna took heavy damage and collapsed, leaving Leo devastated. However, they rose again and pressed on.

Leo was eventually "killed" after Summoning "Power Tool Dragon" and Luna’s "Ancient Fairy Dragon." Jack witnessed Leo’s resurrection as he became the sixth Signer and Synchro Summoned "Life Stream Dragon," whose effect saved their lives. Aporia powered up "Meklord Astro Dragon Asterisk" to 8300 ATK, but Leo and Luna managed to reduce it to 2900. When Aporia questioned why he felt emotional pain, Jack told him it wasn’t despair he felt—it was hope. Aporia, Jack said, fought for Z-one, just as Leo fought for Luna. Because he cared, Aporia had hope. Jack then used "Red Nova Dragon" to destroy "Asterisk" and win the Duel. The trio escaped and continued deeper into the Divine Temple.

The Final Confrontation

Jack and the twins reunited with Yusei after his victory over Antinomy, opening the path to the Support Gear. Jack praised Leo's performance and told Yusei he should’ve seen the Duel. After hearing about Bruno’s death, Jack told the others they had to keep moving to honor his sacrifice. Upon reaching Z-one, Aporia tried to Duel him in hopes of changing his mind, but failed. Jack then gave Yusei his "Red Dragon Archfiend" to support him in the final battle. During the Duel, Z-one’s mask was damaged, and Jack was stunned to see he bore the same criminal mark as Yusei.

Jack’s Future

Months later, Jack received an invitation from the Ride Ace Dueling League and began his journey to become the World King. He challenged and defeated elite Duelists like Greiger, Sherry, and Kalin. Eventually, he confronted Yusei for one last Duel. Despite throwing everything he had at Yusei—including "Exploder Dragonwing" and "Red Nova Dragon"—Jack was defeated after "Red Dragon Archfiend" was destroyed by "Junk Warrior."

After that, Jack left New Domino City. Eight years later, he was reigning as the King of the Ride Ace Dueling League—undefeated since his loss to Yusei. When Crow, having transferred from the Shingon League, challenged him, Jack welcomed it openly. He declared that until he gets a rematch and finally defeats Yusei, he will not lose to anyone else.

ARC-V

For many years, Jack lived in constant fear. One day, a "Tuning Magician" card fell from the Topsiders' district of New Domino City into the Commons below. Inspired by the card and its mysterious origin, Jack vowed to return it to where it came from—something he could only achieve by becoming stronger. Through relentless effort and Turbo Dueling, he eventually triumphed in the Friendship Cup, earning the right to live among the Topsiders and gaining the title of Duel King.

At one point outside an event, Jack encountered a young Commons boy named Sam, who worked for the Topsiders and claimed to be his fan. Jack handed him the "Tuning Magician" card, saying it suited him best. However, Sam misinterpreted this gesture as an insult, believing Jack was calling him weak due to the card’s low Level and ATK.

Jack became an icon and role model for many young Duelists in the Commons, including Yugo and Rin, inspiring them to train hard for the chance to challenge him one day. Despite this, several Commons residents—such as Crow Hogan and Sam—view Jack as a traitor for not using his influence to improve the conditions between the Commons and Topsiders.

Friendship Cup

When the Lancers were brought before the High Council, they approved Jean-Michel Roget’s proposal for an exhibition match between Yuya Sakaki and Jack, scheduled for the night before the Friendship Cup officially began.

Jack made a dramatic entrance into the arena after Yuya’s arrival. Before the Action-Turbo Duel began, he addressed the crowd, confidently predicting how the Duel would unfold. As expected, Jack won the first corner, quickly Summoning "Red Wyvern". Yuya responded with a full-hand Pendulum Summon, bringing out both "Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon" and "Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon" in an attempt to win with a first-turn knockout. Jack survived the attack using "Evasive Evasion" and "Reject Reborn".

Challenging Yuya’s idea of entertainment, Jack claimed Yuya's approach was rooted in self-satisfaction. He countered on his next turn by Synchro Summoning "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend", using its effect to destroy all of Yuya's monsters before attacking directly to win with a one-turn knockout. As Yuya collapsed off his Duel Runner, he angrily told Jack not to insult his father's way of Dueling. Jack quietly observed him before turning away. He later attended the opening ceremony of the Friendship Cup’s first day.

Following the day’s events, Jack dined with the High Council alongside Declan and Riley. When Gael praised Zuzu Boyle’s performance, Jack remarked that she seemed to be Dueling for someone else's sake. He also noted that Riley was supposed to Duel and expressed disappointment at the change, stating he was curious to see Riley’s potential. Jack shared his own story about how the "Tuning Magician" card had changed his life and told Riley that if he had a goal, he must not hesitate to pursue it.

On the second day of the tournament’s first round, Jack continued observing from the stands. When Yuya revealed the punishment awaiting the Friendship Cup’s losers, Jack criticized him for trying to influence the crowd before earning their respect. However, Jack was visibly surprised for the first time in the tournament when Yuya turned aggressive and defeated Officer 227 in a brutal and commanding fashion.

Jack remained a silent observer for the rest of the first-round Duels. He showed no reaction during the tense conclusion of the match between Dennis McField and Shay Obsidian, even as Dennis revealed his Duel Academy origins. Jack ultimately left the arena after Shay's merciless victory.

Friendship Cup Finals

The next day, Jack returned to his private skybox to observe the second round of the Friendship Cup. When Yuya Summoned "Tuning Magician"—the same card Jack had once given to Sam—Jack was surprised and curious about how Yuya had obtained it. Upon seeing how Yuya used the card's drawback to set up "Enlightenment Paladin" for a finishing move, Jack smiled, impressed by Yuya’s strategy. He also smiled at the outcome of Crow’s Duel against Shay, despite one of his posters being destroyed during the final attack.

Later, Jack watched Yuya face Crow. Following Crow’s defeat and Yuya’s harsh tactics, Jack was unimpressed and called the match boring before walking away. With Yugo absent, Jack was selected to face Sergey in the second semi-final match. Before the Duel, he spoke with Sam, who explained he finally understood the meaning behind Jack giving him "Tuning Magician." Jack concluded that Sam had passed the card on to Yuya.

Jack explained to Sam that every card—and person—has a purpose, and tasked him with delivering that message to Yuya. As the Duel against Sergey began, Sergey used the abilities of his "Earthbound Servant" Fusion and Synchro Monsters to pressure Jack, but Jack countered each move. Even when Sergey activated "Earthbound Tundra" and merged with his Duel Runner, Jack remained calm, criticizing Sergey’s theatrics and becoming irritated when his dragon, "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend," was weakened.

When Sergey forced Jack to choose between destroying "Scarlight" or allowing him to recover Life Points, Jack chose to keep his dragon, calling it the embodiment of his pride and soul. After Sergey Summoned "Earthbound Servant Geo Grasha," Jack used "Scarlight" to save Sergey from falling off the track. Ultimately, Jack used "Soul Fist" to claim victory, then watched as Sergey refused help and plummeted to his apparent doom.

Jack returned to the Duel Palace, waiting for Yuya to arrive. When Yuya vowed to bring smiles back to New Domino City, Jack accepted his challenge.

As the Commons rioted, Jack ordered them to stop and declared that his Duel with Yuya would determine the city's fate. Jack opened with a Synchro Summon of "Red Wyvern," using the same materials as in their previous Duel. Yuya countered with "Timebreaker Magician" and "Performapal Radish Horse" via Pendulum Summon, then activated "Smile World" in tribute to his father’s Dueling style. This angered Jack, who believed Yuya hadn't learned anything. Jack then Synchro Summoned "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend."

Before the Duel could continue, Jean-Michel Roget's Duel Chasers interrupted with their "Goyo Emperors." Furious at both Roget and Yuya, Jack used Scarlight's effect to destroy all Special Summoned monsters and inflict damage on Yuya.

Yuya managed to stay in the Duel using Action Cards "Acceleration" and "Damage Draw." Jack demanded he surrender, but Yuya refused and Synchro Summoned "Enlightenment Paladin." Jack mocked the monster's name and attempted to destroy it but failed. As they continued Dueling, Jack’s harsh words pushed Yuya to awaken his true style. When Yuya unveiled "Nirvana High Paladin," Jack was shocked—and thrilled—by how far he had come.

Jack answered with the Synchro Summon of "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend," revealing his hidden strength. He continued pushing Yuya, who ultimately Pendulum Summoned a full field of monsters. Even with "Tyrant" at 10,000 ATK, Jack was defeated when Yuya used the Pendulum Effect of "Nirvana High Paladin" alongside "Smile World" to launch a final combo attack. Jack smiled in the end, declaring to the entire city that it had been an honor to Duel with Yuya.

He witnessed the Council announce their resignation and the abolishment of the class divide between Topsiders and Commons. Jack had come to understand Yuya’s true philosophy and was proud to see him unite the people of New Domino.

Suddenly, Sora Perse appeared on the city screens with urgent news—Roget had kidnapped Zuzu once again. Jack and Crow took off on their Duel Runners, joining Yuya at Sector Security headquarters. Crashing through the building's entrance, they searched for Zuzu alongside Riley and Moon Shadow, eventually learning that Declan was Dueling Roget in a sealed room.

Once Sora arrived and confirmed he could unlock the door, Jack and Crow left the group to launch an ambush. Their actions created the opportunity to rescue Zuzu. Jack confronted Roget, declaring he would never forgive him for plunging New Domino into chaos, and had "Scarlight" destroy the elevator shaft. However, this accidentally endangered Zuzu even more. Thankfully, Yuya managed to save her, and Jack watched with relief as the two reunited.

Jack was furious when Roget revealed his plan to trap New Domino between dimensions while sending the Lancers to the Fusion Dimension. Despite their efforts, neither "Scarlight" nor Crow’s "Assault Blackwing - Raikiri the Sudden Shower" could stop the dimensional machine. Jack watched helplessly as Roget was sucked into a wormhole, followed by Yuya, Zuzu, Shay, Gong, and Sylvio, who were all pulled into another.

Declan explained that it was impossible to determine which dimension they had been transported to.

Heartland City

Jack Atlas chose to stay behind in New Domino City rather than accompany the Lancers to the Fusion Dimension, helping to rebuild after the battle. However, Amanda, Frank, and Tarren urged him to go and support Crow and the others, assuring Jack that they could manage without him. With their encouragement, Jack departed on his Phoenix Whirlwind Duel Runner, making his way to Duel Academy in the Fusion Dimension.

Jack made a dramatic entrance during a Duel where the Battle Beast was about to seal Gong into a card. Racing into the arena on his Duel Runner, he took the intrusion penalty and declared that while he wasn't a Lancer, he was their ally. He explained to Yuya that the kids had sent him to help Crow, but was shocked to learn that Crow had already been sealed. Determined to defeat the Battle Beast, Jack Synchro Summoned Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend and used its effect to destroy Gladiator Beast Gyzarus. Although the Battle Beast feared a direct attack, Jack explained that the effect of Red Warg, used as Synchro Material, prevented him from attacking, much to the Battle Beast’s relief.

Sanders then joined the Duel, and Jack ended his turn by Setting two cards. Sensing something off about the Battle Beast, he warned Sanders that orders didn’t matter—he and Yuya would not be stopped. When Yuya seemed hesitant, Jack urged him to awaken his spirit and express himself through the Duel. The Duel took an unexpected turn when the Battle Beast used the effect of Tamer Editor to destroy itself and eliminate Sanders from the Duel.

Jack saved Yuya from Gladiator Beast Fort’s effect, then told him that shouting wouldn’t change the students’ indoctrination—only shaking their hearts could. He Synchro Summoned Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend with Double Resonator, destroying all cards on the field. However, the Battle Beast countered with Gladiator Beast's Great Fortress, summoning Gladiator Beast Andabata with 4000 ATK and forcing a clash with Tyrant. Facing defeat, Jack used Red Armor from his Graveyard to survive, then told Yuya to stop worrying about him and focus on breaking through to the Battle Beast. Inspired, Yuya activated Guard Dance, and Jack smiled, calling Pendulum Summoning Yuya's form of communication. After Yuya’s victory, Jack encouraged him to press on while he and Sylvio helped the injured Gong.

Duel Academy

Jack arrived at Duel Academy just as Gong was about to join the battle against Z-ARC, joining him as they both received intrusion penalties. They watched Z-ARC defeat Shay and Kite, and Jack correctly deduced that Yuya and the Four Dimension Dragons had fused into Supreme King Z-ARC. Declaring their intent to reclaim Yuya’s heart, Jack and Gong became Z-ARC’s new opponents.

Jack immediately Synchro Summoned Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend to force Yuya out, just as he had with the Battle Beast. However, his summon triggered Z-ARC’s ability to Synchro Summon Supreme King Dragon Clear Wing on Jack’s own turn. Though Jack protected Scarlight, he couldn’t destroy Clear Wing. Still, he refused to give up, vowing to charge forward even without a clear path.

Gong summoned Superheavy Samurai Ward Chief Heavystrong to shield Scarlight, and Jack used the path Gong created to mount an offensive. As New Domino City began to materialize in the Fusion Dimension, Jack rode onto the newly formed highway. Using Vision Synchro, he summoned Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend and attacked Clear Wing, but Z-ARC’s boosted effect defeated Gong. Jack explained Gong’s sacrifice and vowed to strike at Yuya’s soul. Though he destroyed Clear Wing, Z-ARC used the Pendulum effects of Supreme King Gate Zero and Gate Infinity to convert the damage to LP. Tyrant returned to the Extra Deck due to Vision Synchro, leaving only Scarlight on the field.

As Sylvio and a restored Crow joined the Duel, Z-ARC struck back, destroying Scarlight and defeating Jack, sending him flying through the Duel Palace. He narrowly avoided being crushed by his Duel Runner and passed out, leaving the Duel to his allies.

Jack later witnessed Crow dealing damage to Z-ARC and summoning Supreme King Servant Dragon Odd-Eyes. Though it seemed Sylvio had destroyed Z-ARC, the Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz Monsters in the Graveyard—including Scarlight—protected him. When Leo Akaba joined the Duel and spoke of the cards capable of defeating Z-ARC, Jack was intrigued. He later reminded Yuya of how he once moved the hearts of New Domino’s people and was relieved when Ray turned Z-ARC’s Synchro Monsters into powerless Normal Monsters.

After Z-ARC's defeat, Jack remained in the Fusion Dimension and watched Yuya duel Shay. When Yuya won and declared he would save Zuzu and Lulu, Jack called him arrogant, warning that he couldn't save anyone in his current state. He explained Yuya feared using the Four Dimension Dragons due to the risk of merging with them again and declared him disqualified as a Duelist if he couldn’t fully control his monsters.

They began an Action Turbo Duel on the Multiverse Speedway. Jack summoned Scarlight and demanded Yuya summon the Four Dragons, but Yuya hesitated, using Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and his Performapals instead. Jack easily fended off the attack and destroyed all of Yuya’s monsters except Odd-Eyes. Yuya again refused to summon the dragons, fearing for the safety of Zuzu and the others. Jack countered with Tyrant, attacking Yuya's field, but Yuya protected himself with Performapal Odd-Eyes Dissolver. On his next turn, Yuya revived his monsters a third time, and though Jack was initially frustrated, Yuya explained his true intent. Jack urged him to demonstrate his strength as the master of the dragons.

Yuya responded by summoning Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, and Starving Venom Fusion Dragon alongside Odd-Eyes. With Starving Venom copying Jack’s monster effects, Yuya turned Scarlight’s power against him, but Jack blocked it with Invalidate. Encouraging Yuya to keep fighting seriously, Jack watched his monsters weakened by Dark Rebellion. Yuya’s dragons then attacked Tyrant and destroyed it with Clear Wing, while Invalidate saved Jack from defeat.

Yuya followed up with Odd-Eyes attacking Scarlight, and Jack tried to boost its ATK with Rejuvenation. However, Clear Wing helped Yuya obtain an Action Card that powered Odd-Eyes enough to destroy Scarlight, defeating Jack. Though acknowledging Yuya as the master of the dragons, Jack noted he didn’t hear Yuya’s soul roar and departed.

He later watched Yuya’s Duel with Declan in Paradise City. When Yuya summoned Odd-Eyes Wing Dragon, Jack sensed Yuya's true presence for the first time. He was impressed when Yuya used Performapal Five-Rainbow Magician’s Pendulum Effect to reduce all monsters' ATK to 0 and worked with Declan to gather Action Cards to bypass it. Pleased with Yuya’s win, Jack was transported back to Paradise Stadium and witnessed Ray's revival as Zuzu.

Deck

Jack uses a Power Deck built around Synchro Summoning his signature monster, "Red Dragon Archfiend." Reflecting his bold and aggressive personality, many of his strategies revolve around supporting this ace card with powerful traps and spells like "Lineage of Destruction" and "Crimson Fire." During his battles against the Dark Signers, Jack adapted his tactics by including defensive options such as "Battle Fader" and "Crying Ogre" to counter the overwhelming power of the "Earthbound Immortals."

After his defeat by Andre and the addition of "Red Nova Dragon" to his Extra Deck, Jack refines his approach. He becomes more strategic and less reckless, focusing on quickly gathering Synchro materials using support cards like "Tuner’s Reflect" and his core group of "Resonator" monsters to enable the Summoning of "Red Nova Dragon."

In Evolving Duel! Stardust VS Red Demons, Jack’s Turbo Duel Deck is tailored to bring out "Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode," highlighting his continued reliance on high-impact Synchro evolutions.

in Arc-V, Jack uses a "Red" Deck, which, similar to his 5D's counterpart, seems to focus mainly on power. He swarms the field with various monsters to perform Synchro Summons and uses powerful Synchro Monsters to overwhelm his opponent with card-destruction effects and high ATK for OTK tactics. He also uses cards his 5D's counterpart used or similar ones, like "Resonator" monsters and "Crimson Blader".

Much like his 5D's counterpart with "Red Dragon Archfiend", Jack aims to bring out his "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend" as soon as possible and keep it alive throughout the whole Duel, using many effects to protect and strengthen it, including several hand traps.
