Appearance[edit | edit source]

Damom is a very small, round, dark green insect-like creature resembling a cicada. He has red eyes, small orange antennae, and a blue section on his chest. His hands are unique, consisting of large, rounded balls instead of fingers, and he has a small triangular tail.

Personality:[edit | edit source]

Damom is cunning and strategic, utilizing his small size to overwhelm larger opponents in battle. His reactions differ between the anime and manga after his identity is discovered by Android 17 and Goku: in the anime, he maintains his confidence, while in the manga, he panics and tries to flee. He shows fear of Quitela, his God of Destruction, particularly during his elimination, as he quickly avoids being stepped on by the enraged deity. Eventually, Damom seems to accept his fate when he, along with Universe 4, is erased by the two Zenos.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Dragon Ball Super[edit | edit source]

Universe Survival Saga[edit | edit source]

In the Dragon Ball Super's Universal Survival Saga, Damom is recruited by Quitela, the God of Destruction of Universe 4, as one of the ten strongest warriors to represent their universe in the Tournament of Power. Both Damom and his teammate Gamisalas are concealed from sight upon their arrival at the Null Realm, leading Team Universe 7 to initially believe that Universe 4 only has eight participants. In the anime, Tien Shinhan senses a faint "presence," while in the manga, Master Roshi speculates that there may be an invisible fighter.

In the manga, either Damom or Gamisalas quickly eliminates Android 18 and the Kamikaze Fireballs after their battle, then proceeds to knock Murichim and Zircor from Universe 10 out of the arena. After Piccolo eliminates Gamisalas, Damom launches a surprise attack on him. Piccolo attempts to retaliate but misses, allowing Damom to strike him in the stomach, sending Universe 7's Namekian out of the ring.

Gohan and Android 17 start searching for Damom, who interrupts the ongoing battle between Goku and Jiren by knocking 17 back. Dyspo suggests to Jiren that they retreat due to the unpredictability of the hidden threat. 17 ultimately uses his hearing to detect that Damom is a bug-sized warrior, and after Damom tries to flee, 17 blasts him out of the arena.

In the anime, Damom and Gamisalas move stealthily around Jiren's vicinity after Goku is thought to have been eliminated by Jiren. After Shantza and Ganos are knocked out, Damom and the rest of Universe 4 are eventually erased by the two Zenos.

After Gamisalas was eliminated by Piccolo during the Tournament of Power, Damom launched a series of rapid attacks against Piccolo and other members of Team Universe 7, in coordination with Xiangca’s illusions to further confuse the warriors into thinking the illusions were real. However, Piccolo soon spotted Xiangca and eliminated him with a ki blast. With Damom being the last remaining warrior of Universe 4, Quitela, the God of Destruction, frantically urged him to avoid elimination, as their universe’s survival depended on it.

Damom initially targeted Piccolo, who could sense his presence but couldn’t locate him. Using this advantage, Damom managed to knock Piccolo out of the ring. He then turned his focus on Android 17, knocking him into the air. He nearly eliminated 17, but Goku intervened, catching the Android. Damom then attempted to attack Goku, who was confused as to why he couldn’t see or counter Damom’s attacks.

Android 17, using his keen senses, detected Damom's movements through the sound of his footsteps and the dust rising as he moved. He fired a ki blast at Damom, revealing that the fighter wasn’t invisible but rather incredibly small. Damom, unfazed, declared that his identity being revealed meant nothing and evaded Goku’s attempts to capture him. Despite several ki barrages from 17, Damom dodged effortlessly due to his small size.

After realizing that Damom always jumped to dodge attacks, 17 concluded that he had no wings and therefore could be defeated by disrupting his mobility. Goku then began smashing the ground to create shockwaves, forcing Damom into the air. While airborne, 17 trapped Damom in an energy barrier, caught him, and kicked him out of the arena, eliminating him.

After being eliminated, Damom was teleported to Universe 4’s bench, where Quitela, enraged by their loss, attempted to stomp him in frustration. Damom managed to avoid Quitela’s attacks before Universe 4 was erased by the Omni-Kings.

Later, Damom and the rest of Universe 4 were revived when Android 17 used the Super Dragon Balls to restore all the erased universes.

  • Damom is presumably named after Cardamom, a spice.
  • He and Gamisalas are the only members of Team Universe 4 to score eliminations in the Tournament of Power.
  • Damom is the smallest competitor in the Tournament of Power and the smallest fighter to ever compete in any tournament thus far in the series.
  • He holds the distinction of being the smallest character in the entire Dragon Ball series.
  • The circumstances behind Damom eliminating Piccolo were specifically created by original author Akira Toriyama.
  • According to Toei's original background for Damom in their website's source code, he was initially intended to fight using dodging techniques, shedding his skin in the process, and making it self-destruct. However, this concept was not used in the final version of the Tournament of Power.
