Appearance[edit | edit source]

Cyclopian Guards are imposing in size, standing about twice as tall as Piccolo. True to their name, each has a small head featuring a single, glowing red eye. Their heavily armored frames bear a resemblance to the designs of Frieza's and Cooler's final forms, with large torsos, extended shoulder plates, and mechanical limbs. Their arms are equipped with blaster-like appendages that can transform for grappling or melee combat. Their feet are wide and digitated, allowing for both stability and movement across rugged terrain.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Cyclopian Guards are devoid of conventional personality traits. Meta-Cooler describes them as completely mute and deaf, making any attempt at reasoning futile. Even if they could hear or communicate, their programming leaves no room for mercy or negotiation. In Dokkan Battle, Cooler reinforces their inability to show compassion, emphasizing their mechanical nature. Despite this, they are capable of emitting robotic sounds for their Super Attack animations and dialogue. In Dragon Ball Heroes, they are portrayed with the ability to speak.

The Return of Cooler[edit | edit source]

The Cyclopian Guards launch their assault on the Namekians as the Dragon Team arrives on New Namek. Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin engage the robotic soldiers while Goku confronts Meta-Cooler directly. During the battle, Piccolo notices that the guards are constructed from an incredibly resilient metal, making them impervious to standard attacks. He advises Gohan and Krillin to concentrate their energy on a single point for each strike to break through the guards' tough armor.

Once this tactic is adopted, the team can effectively destroy the Cyclopian Guards. However, their overwhelming numbers eventually lead to Gohan, Krillin, Master Roshi, Oolong, and Yajirobe being captured. Despite being relentlessly attacked by the guards' bullets, Piccolo unleashes his Makosen Flash, annihilating the remaining Cyclopian Guards. With the immediate threat neutralized, Piccolo sets off to rescue his teammates.

Attacks and Techniques[edit | edit source]

  • Hikou – The ability to fly without using ki.
  • Ray Gun – The ability to fire energy rays from their arms, used during an attack on a Namekian warrior.
  • Super Tech Gatling – A short-range machine gun attack used against Piccolo in the movie, also named in Dragon Ball Heroes. In Dokkan Battle, this is the Cyclopian Guards' Super Attack. A team variation involves multiple Cyclopian Guards coordinating their attacks: one extends its arm to restrain the target while others fire at will.
  • Cannon – The ability to deploy a cannon to fire at opponents, notably used against Gohan and other Z Fighters.
  • Arm Extension – The ability to elongate their arms, used to enhance short-range attacks like their machine-gun assault. This ability also supports their Super Tech Gatling team attack in Dokkan Battle.
  • Bear Hug – A constrictive hold used as a form of torture, notably against Krillin.
  • Net – Nets deployed from their arms to ensnare and capture enemies.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Cyclopian Guards and Godgardon from Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans bear a strong resemblance to the Pirate Robot from Dragon Ball.
  • Both the Cyclopian Guards and the Pirate Robot share a common weakness: their armored bodies can be defeated by an opponent focusing their power on a single point of attack.
