Appearance[edit | edit source]

Android 15 is a very short and small android with features that embody certain stereotypes. He has dark skin, large pink lips, and wears a distinctive outfit that includes a green hat with a red ball on top, a black-and-white tuxedo shirt, and a dark yellow and blue overcoat. His attire is often compared to a stereotypical "pimp" look, especially given the comically exaggerated voice he has in the Funimation dub. His mechanical nature is evident through his completely mechanical eyes and a glass dome cranium, similar to those of Androids 19 and 20.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Android 15 displays little emotion and is primarily focused on his mission to kill Goku. He has few lines in the series, with his most notable phrases in the Funimation dub including, "Who blasted mah blast!?" and "Okay... let's dance," spoken in a stereotypical accent fitting his exaggerated appearance. His characterization is also highlighted by his habit of drinking from a small flask during the film.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Android 15 was developed by Dr. Gero before the events of the Androids Saga. Like Androids 13 and 14, Android 15 was close to Gero's final android concept but was considered flawed and was presumed destroyed by Gero. However, in Super Android 13!, Android 15 is completed by Gero's self-aware supercomputer and, along with Android 14, is sent to West City to kill Goku. They initiate an attack on a restaurant where Goku's family is dining, leading to a battle that eventually moves to an isolated glacial area.

During the fight, Android 15 battles Vegeta, who transforms into a Super Saiyan and decapitates him with a powerful punch. Despite his destruction, Android 15's components are later absorbed by Android 13, allowing him to transform into Super Android 13.

Named in World Mission, it appears as one of Android 15's abilities. At the start of battle, 5x his own PWR if Goku or Goku (GT) is on enemy team.
  • Android Barrier – The user focuses their power into a barrier with double their normal defensive capabilities, allowing them to withstand attacks from an opponent of equal power or below. It is one of his Blast 1 in Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2.
  • Android Strike 15 – First Android 15 kicks the opponent to the air and beats them up with multiple punches until kicking them to the ground and sliding on their body. Then, he hits the sitting opponent with even more punches, finishing the rush with a strong right-hand punch.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Alternate Colors Cameo: Android 15 with alternate colors appears briefly in the Other World Saga.
  • Dialogue Differences: In the original Japanese version of Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!, Android 15 has very minimal dialogue, only saying "Son Goku" a few times and "Trunks" once. The FUNimation dub added numerous lines for him, featuring a stereotypical African-American accent.
  • Red Ribbon Bowtie: His bowtie is designed with the Red Ribbon Army's insignia. Interestingly, this makes Android 15 the only Red Ribbon Android to actually wear a Red Ribbon, as a bowtie is essentially a ribbon of fabric.
  • Edited Dub: In some edited versions of the FUNimation dub, a close-up shot of Android 15 drinking from a flask was cut due to implications of alcohol consumption. This edit makes Goku's later comment about the Red Ribbon Army bowtie seem somewhat out of context.
  • Voice Changes: In the remastered release of the film, Android 15's voice is slightly deeper compared to the original version.
