Luud, also known as Lord Luud or God of Destruction Luud, is a Machine Mutant created by Dr. Myuu and worshiped as a deity by the Luud Cult in Dragon Ball GT.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
In his second level state, Luud has a large mechanical body with a light-yellow color and a childlike face with horns branching from the sides of his head. When he reaches his third level of power, his body turns red, signifying his full strength.

Background[edit | edit source]
Luud was created by Dr. Myuu alongside other Machine Mutants in Age 775. He was handed to Dolltaki, who used Luud to establish the Luud Cult. The cultists believed that gathering enough life energy would allow Luud to rise and fulfill their desires.
Dragon Ball GT: Black Star Dragon Ball Saga[edit | edit source]
At first, Luud appears as a giant statue, absorbing life energy from humans turned into dolls by his cult. His main form of attack is an eye beam that petrifies people. When two-thirds powered, Luud becomes a mechanical doll with formidable strength but limited ability.
After a confrontation with Goku, Trunks, and Pan, Luud absorbs Pan and Master Dolltaki, reaching his third state and full power. He transforms into a red machine mutant capable of unleashing devastating mouth blasts. Despite his strength, Goku and Pan work together to discover and exploit Luud's sole weakness: a nucleus that must be attacked from both inside and outside simultaneously.
By coordinating their attacks, they destroy Luud, freeing all those trapped inside, including Pan and Dolltaki. It is later learned that Luud was not meant to be one of Dr. Myuu's most powerful machine mutants, but was instead made to gather enough energy to be transferred into Dr. Myuu's favorite experiment, Baby.

Attacks and Techniques[edit | edit source]
- Absorption – Lord Luud absorbs the people it turned into dolls in order to collect their energy.
- Eye Lasers – Lord Luud can fire energy beams from its eyes.
- Doll Beam – The ability to turn people into dolls. Eating the dolls is a means of collecting energy for Luud.
- Crimson Scream – Luud has the ability to fire a powerful crimson energy wave from his mouth.
- Crushing in Hands – Luud uses this against Goku, however, the performance of this attack is interrupted by Pan.
- Revolving Arms – Luud's eyes light up as its arms rotate extremely quickly, resembling propellers.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Luud's name (ルード, Rūdo) is an anagram of the word "doll" (ドール, dōru), with rū (ル) elongated.
- Despite his title, Luud is not related to the Gods of Destruction from Dragon Ball Super. However, Toyotarou has joked about Luud’s "God of Destruction" status, suggesting it may have influenced one of the designs for the Gods of Destruction.
- Luud serves as an example of a false deity, as his title of "God of Destruction" is unofficial and his purpose was to gather energy for Baby, not to destroy universes like the official Gods of Destruction.
- In 2013, ahead of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Toyotarou drew a humorous scene where Beerus was angry at Whis for creating Luud. In the scene, Whis mentioned he had to make a "new" God of Destruction since Beerus had been asleep for so long.
