In its interactions with Seto Kaiba, the dragon’s essence represents power and determination, reflecting Kaiba’s own relentless drive and ambition. While the dragon is fierce in battle, its underlying aura carries an air of majesty and pride, demanding respect from allies and adversaries alike.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Ancient Egypt[edit | edit source]
The White Dragon was Kisara's spirit ka, uniquely tied to her soul (ba), which made her its vessel. This union meant the dragon's immense power resided within Kisara, though it only manifested when she was unconscious, leaving her initially unaware of its existence.
The dragon was first seen by an exiled criminal wandering the desert. Believing the dragon to be a divine entity answering his prayers, the criminal vowed to abandon his misdeeds in gratitude. Upon his return to civilization, he recounted his tale to the barman at the Winking Camel Bar, who dismissed it as a heat-induced hallucination. Shortly after, soldiers led by Seto discovered the criminal during their ka hunt. Convinced of Seto's corruption, the criminal warned him that he would face judgment from the divine White Dragon.
During the same ka hunt, Seto encountered Kisara when she was being attacked by citizens who considered her a bad omen. Defending her, Seto ordered her into his care. Shada's Millennium Key reacted to Kisara's vast heka, revealing the presence of the White Dragon ka within her. Recognizing the dragon's potential power, Seto arranged for Kisara to recover in the palace.
Four days later, Kisara regained consciousness, and Seto brought her to the palace's underground arena, where criminals captured in the ka hunt were forced to fight. Gebelk insisted on testing the White Dragon’s power through a battle, though Seto feared it would cost Kisara her life. However, Akhenaden, believing Seto destined to become Pharaoh after Atem's disappearance, demanded the dragon be tested.
Kisara refused to fight back against the criminal's ka, leading Seto to intervene. When Kisara fell unconscious and both their lives were threatened, the White Dragon emerged. It protected them with its tail and unleashed a devastating light attack, killing the remaining prisoners and Gudoul. The attack pierced the dungeon ceiling, sending a radiant pillar of light into the sky. Afterward, Akhenaden declared that Seto must become the dragon’s vessel. Gebelk suggested achieving this by killing Kisara and freeing her soul, but Seto rejected the idea, unwilling to sacrifice her.
During the climactic battle against Zorc Necrophades, Akhenaden urged Seto to join him in serving Zorc, claiming Kisara's impending death would allow Seto to wield the White Dragon. Refusing, Seto attempted to save Kisara, but Akhenaden killed her and sealed the White Dragon within a stone tablet using the Millennium Rod. Possessing Seto, Akhenaden forced him to duel Atem, commanding the White Dragon to defeat Atem’s Dark Magician. However, Kisara’s spirit reappeared, freeing the White Dragon from Akhenaden’s control. The dragon turned against him, destroying Akhenaden and helping to end the battle against Zorc.
1990s[edit | edit source]
The "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" card became legendary in the world of Duel Monsters.
Seto Kaiba, captivated by its power, sought to possess all copies of the card. After acquiring three copies, he became obsessed with obtaining the fourth, the last known copy.
At one point, Arthur Hawkins possessed the final card, but he gifted it to Solomon Muto as a token of gratitude for saving his life. When Kaiba learned of this, he offered Solomon a suitcase filled with rare cards and a substantial sum of money in exchange for the card. Solomon refused both offers, valuing the card as a memento of his friendship with Arthur.
Determined to claim the card, Kaiba challenged Solomon to a duel and emerged victorious. Without hesitation, Kaiba tore the card in half, ensuring that no one but him could wield the power of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Despite the card's destruction, Solomon retained its remains, taping it together as a cherished keepsake of his bond with Arthur.
