Drum (ドラム Doramu) is a mutated Namekian and the fourth son of King Piccolo following his release.

Appearance

Drum is a large, ogre-like, frog-like Namekian. He closely resembles his brother Tambourine in both appearance and outfit, except for his more emerald-green skin, lack of wings, and much larger size, similar to his other brother, Cymbal.

Personality

Like all of his siblings, Drum is ruthless, cruel, and completely loyal to his father and family. He believes his kind to be the superior species.

King Piccolo Saga

Though Drum is the shortest-lived son of King Piccolo, he is the strongest up to that point, as King Piccolo creates him while at his peak power. King Piccolo produces Drum when Tien Shinhan arrives to use the Evil Containment Wave against him, following the Demon King's assumption of control over Earth. Seeing Tien as unworthy of his time, King Piccolo summons Drum to fight him. Drum quickly overwhelms Tien, although Tien does manage to land a few strikes. At the start of the battle, Tien kicks Drum in the face. Later, Tien kicks Drum in the stomach and smashes his nose, causing it to bleed, but he fails to inflict significant damage.

In the anime, Tien attempts to use the Evil Containment Wave on King Piccolo, but Drum steps in and is nearly trapped instead. However, King Piccolo destroys the jar before Drum is sealed. This scene does not appear in the manga, as the Electric Rice Cooker is already broken before Tien's fight with Drum begins.

Just as Drum is about to finish off Tien, Goku arrives, flying at high speed and delivering a powerful kick to Drum's skull, temporarily stunning him. Drum regains consciousness and attempts to attack Goku, but Goku senses his energy and defeats him with another single kick to the head. Drum's body is later accidentally destroyed by King Piccolo during his battle with Goku.

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Flight, Ki Manipulation (Basic Level), Afterimages, Limited Soul Manipulation (Demon Clansmen, by nature, banish the souls of their victims to purgatory in the mortal realm, thus preventing ascension into the afterlife), Limited Immortality Negation (Types 2 & 3) and Regeneration Negation (Mid-High; Non-Combat Applicable - The Nimbus Cloud is capable of quickly reconstructing itself after being blown to smithereens, and is regarded as indestructible, but can be destroyed permanently by Demon Clansmen)

Attack Potency: Moon level (Stronger than Tambourine since he was born from a younger King Piccolo, and overpowered Tien)

Speed: At least Sub Relativistic+ combat speed (Easily kept up with Tien Shinhan)

Trivia

• Like his siblings, Drum's name is a pun on a musical instrument: the drum.
• Drum was born wearing pants and shoes.
• Drum and Tambourine are among the few of King Piccolo's offspring who resemble ordinary Namekians. This could be because their more deformed siblings were created when King Piccolo was aged and weakened, while Drum was born after he regained his youth.
• Drum is notably the first Namekian shown with purple blood. In the anime, there is a scene where Tien Shinhan punches him in the face, causing purple blood to spill from his nose.
• Drum is the only one of King Piccolo's sons (aside from Piano, who never fights) not to use any ki attacks, except in video games.
• Drum and Piano are the only known mutated Namekians without wings.
