Salza (サウザー Sauzā) is a character from the Dragon Ball Z universe, serving as the leader of Cooler's Armored Squadron under the Cooler Force.

Neiz (ネイズ, Neizu, lit. "Naise") is a member of Cooler's Armored Squadron within the Cooler Force. He joins Cooler and his team on their mission to Earth to find the Saiyan who defeated Frieza.

Appearance:[edit | edit source]

Neiz is a tall, brown reptilian humanoid with large yellow eyes and pointed ears. He wears the same upper body armor as his teammates and sports a partial purple jumpsuit that extends from his torso to his thighs. Additionally, he is equipped with a blue scouter connected to a head strap.

Personality:[edit | edit source]

Neiz often underestimates his opponents, frequently insulting and laughing at them during battles. He enjoys toying with his enemies and shows a clear loyalty to his comrades, evident in his anger over Dore's death. Despite this, he can be argumentative with his team, as shown when he briefly quarreled with Dore after accidentally hitting him during a fight with Goku. Like his teammates, Neiz is very loyal and respectful towards Cooler and takes pride in his speed, similar to Burter.

Biography:[edit | edit source]

Background:[edit | edit source]

Neiz hails from planet Coola No. 6 (formerly planet Zalt), a water-covered world where his species evolved from amphibians.[4]

Cooler's Revenge:[edit | edit source]

During Frieza's destruction of Planet Vegeta, Neiz operated the monitors on Cooler's ship, witnessing the genocide. He was instructed by Salza to track and identify an escaping Attack Ball from Planet Vegeta, which was headed towards Earth. Although Cooler initially ordered the interception of the pod, he later overruled this decision.

Years later, Neiz informs Cooler that Frieza has been killed by a Saiyan named Goku, who escaped to Earth. Cooler then leads the mission to Earth with his team, including Neiz, Salza, and Dore, to confront Goku. Neiz knocks out Krillin while the latter attempts to warn Gohan about Dore. Neiz then fights Goku, but during the battle, he accidentally kicks Dore and argues with him. He narrowly evades a Full Power Energy Wave from Salza and later struggles to detect Krillin's Ki Blast, confusing it with a pterodactyl. Neiz fights Gohan and Piccolo, and his scouter’s misinterpretation of Piccolo’s attack results in him being sucker-punched by Piccolo. After Dore’s death, Neiz tries to use his Neiz Bind Wave on Piccolo, but Piccolo’s counterattack ultimately fries and kills him.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes:[edit | edit source]

In the Supreme Kai of Time Saga, an incarnation of Neiz, along with Salza, Dore, and other combatants, joins an incarnation of Raditz in the Super Space-Time Tournament as Team 10. Their team fails to advance, leading to Neiz and his space-time being erased

Note: The statistics of Dragon Ball GT/Movie characters are clearly part of a separate continuity, and as such tend to differ greatly from the current canon.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Neiz's name is a pun on the condiment "mayonnaise."
  • Among the Ginyu Force members, Neiz is visually and behaviorally similar to Burter.
  • In Cooler's Revenge, Neiz makes two references to eating humanoids: he exclaims "Smoked meat!" after Cooler shoots Goku and Gohan into a waterfall, and "Deep-fried Nameks, yummy!" when catching Piccolo in his Bind Wave. These references are dub additions, as Neiz was silent in the first instance and originally asked impatiently about the Bind Wave’s effects in the second.
