Tarble (ターブル Tāburu) is a Saiyan, the youngest son of King Vegeta, and Vegeta's estranged younger brother. He is married to an unusual alien named Gure.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Tarble is a shorter Saiyan with a slim build. He has black, spiky hair that stands up, similar to his brother Vegeta's, and in the anime, a single bang falls onto his face. He wears a navy-blue jumpsuit beneath his Battle Armor, complemented by white boots, gloves, and a teal scouter. Tarble's tail remains loose, unlike most adult Saiyans, who wrap their tails around their waists.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Tarble is polite and gentle, lacking the aggression typical of pure-blooded Saiyans. Due to his gentle nature and lack of fighting spirit, his father, King Vegeta, banished him to a remote planet. Despite their estrangement, Tarble respects his older brother Vegeta, praising him for his mistaken belief that Vegeta defeated Frieza. He also has a good relationship with his sister-in-law, Bulma, and nephew, Trunks. Tarble is comfortable with Trunks facing two enemies he considers stronger than Frieza, though he expresses concern for his nephew's safety. He shares a loving bond with his wife, Gure, whom he introduces to Vegeta, surprising his brother.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Background[edit | edit source]

Born on Planet Vegeta before its destruction, Tarble was sent away by King Vegeta due to his lack of aggression and combat skills, classifying him as a low-class Saiyan. During his exile, he met and married Gure.

Two years after the defeat of Kid Buu, Tarble's home is terrorized by Abo and Kado, former henchmen of Frieza. After fighting them unsuccessfully, Tarble and Gure travel to Earth to seek help from Vegeta, as the duo had grown to be as powerful as Frieza. Abo and Kado follow them to Earth.

Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Son Goku and Friends![edit | edit source]

On Earth, Tarble and Gure meet Goku and his friends. Vegeta reveals that Tarble is his brother, surprising everyone. Tarble checks Goku's power level with his scouter, deeming him too weak to defeat Abo and Kado, which Vegeta criticizes. Goku then powers up to Super Saiyan, breaking Tarble's scouter. Tarble asks for help, and the group decides who will fight the duo by pulling radishes, with Trunks winning. Tarble introduces Gure as his wife, shocking everyone, including Vegeta.

When Abo and Kado arrive, Tarble informs the group of their history, noting that they were once on par with the Ginyu Force but have since grown as strong as Frieza. Surprised by the group's casual attitude toward Frieza's strength, Tarble witnesses Gotenks protecting him and Gure from Aka's attack. He is last seen laughing with everyone when Videl reminds Mr. Satan of his promise to be more humble.

Battle of Gods[edit | edit source]

Tarble is mentioned by Bulma when the group is searching for a sixth Saiyan to help Goku achieve Super Saiyan God. Vegeta says Tarble is on a distant planet and that he doesn't know where he is, implying that they don't keep in touch.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly[edit | edit source]

In the prologue, after learning of Planet Vegeta's destruction, Nappa wonders if Tarble escaped. Vegeta dismissively replies that he doesn't know or care.

Dokkan Battle - Frieza's Menace: "Deepening Destiny"[edit | edit source]

In "Dokkan Battle," during the event "Frieza's Menace - Deepening Destiny," Tarble appears on Earth due to a dimensional distortion the Time Patrol investigates. Future Trunks mistakes him for a Saiyan invader and fights him, but soon realizes Tarble isn't a threat. Neither recognizes their familial connection, and Tarble leaves to find Vegeta.

Tier: At least High 4-C, higher as an Oozaru

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Limited Longevity (Known intergalactically as the "warrior race of the universe", Saiyans have evolved to remain in their physical prime for a long period of time. Their bodies remain child-like for several years before rapidly growing into their adult bodies,[1] and they age slowly after reaching their prime in order to remain young and battle-ready for decades;[2][3] after reaching a certain age, however, they rapidly grow frail. Additionally, Saiyans have a longer lifespan than humans[4]), Acrobatics (Via Ki), Afterimages (Here[5]), Skilled in Martial Arts, Flight (Via Ki), Ki Manipulation (Advanced Level), Likely Heat Generation (Via Ki attacks), Explosion Manipulation (As shown when using Ki blasts[6]), Enhanced Senses (Saiyans have exceptional senses, allowing them to locate small, distant objects[7] by tracking their smell[8] and see clearly over long distances[9]), Accelerated Development (Battle; Physical Stats & Abilities - As a Saiyan, Tarble grows stronger every time he fights and can become stronger in the midst of combat, vastly increasing in strength whenever he is mortally injured[10]), Bodily Weaponry (Via Saiyan Tail[11]), Likely Transformation (Can transform into an Oozaru[12] [which also Large Size (Type 1)], increasing his capabilities drastically[13])

Information Analysis and Extrasensory Perception (Via Scouter; The Scouter can be used for the following: communicate to other Scouters near[14] or as far as deep outer space,[15] detect power level,[16] location,[17] distance,[18] and velocity[19]), Limited Damage Reduction and Elasticity (Via Battle Armour[20]), Control Remote (This device can start the space pod form long distance[21] and send it to Nappa's location.[22] Also, it has a self-destruct button[23]), Space Pod (Which has capabilities of Spaceflight/FTL.[24] Also, it has life support systems[25])

Resistance to Disease Manipulation (Saiyans are immune[26] to the Extinction Bomb,[27] which releases a planet-wide supervirus aimed at extinguishing the targeted population[28] and has been stated to work on other alien planets in the past[29]), Cold and Radiations (Should be capable of absorbing over 17 Million Blutz Waves to transform into a Great Ape without ill effects.[30] Capable of fighting in the upper atmosphere, where temperatures are very cold and radiation levels are exceedingly high[31])
