Gogeta (ゴジータ, Gojīta) is the result of the Metamoran Fusion Dance performed by Goku and Vegeta, created with the purpose of defeating powerful foes such as Broly. While all fusions lead to an immense surge in power, Gogeta's strength stands out as extraordinary, even compared to other fusion forms. This is largely attributed to the intense rivalry between Goku and Vegeta, which pushes the fused warrior to tap into an exceptional level of power, beyond typical fusion results.

Concept and Creation[edit | edit source]

Gogeta made his first appearance in the 1995 movie Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn and was initially designed by Tadayoshi Yamamuro. A different version of him later appeared in Dragon Ball GT, where Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru took over his design. Gogeta's official canon debut came much later in the film Dragon Ball Super: Broly, where his appearance and traits were adapted by series creator Akira Toriyama, integrating the character into the "Dragon Ball" canon.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

As a fusion of Goku and Vegeta, Gogeta combines features from both Saiyans. He has Goku's taller, muscular build and Vegeta's sharp facial features. In his base form, Gogeta's hair is jet-black, styled similarly to Vegeta’s but longer and wider, with an additional bang. He retains Vegeta's widow's peak, although this feature is absent in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Gogeta shares Vegeta's tan skin tone, and his Metamoran outfit has varied over time. In Dragon Ball Super: Broly the vest's padding is yellow, and the belt and leg bands are teal, matching the standard Metamoran colors.

Personality[edit | edit source]

In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Gogeta showcases a balanced mix of Goku's and Vegeta's traits, maintaining a cool and confident demeanor. He takes a moment to choose a "cool" name for himself before launching into his fight with Broly, reflecting both Goku's lightheartedness and Vegeta's pride.

Gogeta also demonstrates Goku's benevolent and respectful side. After Shenron transports Broly off Earth to prevent further destruction, Gogeta refrains from pursuing him. He even intervenes to stop Frieza from killing Cheelai and Lemo during their escape and chooses to spare Frieza himself, showing a willingness to avoid unnecessary deaths, even from a notorious villain like Frieza.

Despite this, Gogeta still embodies Vegeta’s aggressive, no-nonsense fighting style. He fights ruthlessly and efficiently, not giving Broly any opportunity to rest or recover, unlike Goku's more drawn-out fighting style. Gogeta is so dominant in their battle that he nearly finishes Broly off, demonstrating a lethal effectiveness when needed. At the same time, like his GT counterpart, Gogeta takes visible enjoyment in the fight, smiling during combat, blending both Goku's love of battle and Vegeta's fierce pride.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Dragon Ball Super[edit | edit source]

Gogeta is formed during Goku and Vegeta's desperate attempt to fuse and defeat the overwhelming power of Super Saiyan Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. After two failed attempts at the Fusion Dance, they successfully fuse and take a moment to decide on a name, choosing "Gogeta" instead of Vegito, the name of their Potara counterpart. Piccolo urges them to act quickly, and Gogeta uses Instant Transmission to return to the battlefield.

Upon arriving, Gogeta confronts a battered Golden Frieza, who demands to know who he is. Gogeta reveals the nature of his fusion and warns Frieza that he’ll deal with him later before teleporting to intervene in Broly's fight with Whis. Taking over from the angel, Gogeta immediately gains the upper hand, effortlessly dodging and blocking Broly's attacks.

Gogeta turns Super Saiyan and matches Broly in a fierce battle, eventually shattering reality with their clashing attacks, sending them into another dimension. When Broly powers up into his Legendary Super Saiyan form, Gogeta briefly struggles before transforming into Super Saiyan Blue, once again dominating the fight. They eventually break back into the real world, where Gogeta continues to outclass Broly.

Despite Broly's incredible stamina and defense, Gogeta severely wounds him with his powerful techniques, including God Punisher and Stardust Breaker. Broly tries to fight back but is overwhelmed by Gogeta's sheer strength. With Broly battered and on the verge of defeat, Gogeta charges his Limit Ultra Kamehameha to finish him off. However, just as Gogeta is about to fire the attack, Cheelai uses the Dragon Balls to wish Broly back to the planet Vampa, saving him in the nick of time. Confused but relieved, Gogeta disperses his energy wave and smiles.

Immediately after, Gogeta confronts Golden Frieza, who is attempting to shoot down Cheelai and Lemo's escaping ship. Gogeta stops Frieza, who realizes the consequences of fighting back and retreats with a warning that he will return to conquer Earth one day, prompting a small chuckle from Gogeta.

Key: Base Form and Super Saiyan | Super Saiyan Blue

Powers and Abilities:

Resistance to:

Limited Resistance to:

All previous abilities massively enhanced, plus:

Attack Potency: Low Multiverse level (Much stronger than the combined strength of Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken x20 Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Evolution Vegeta even in his base form. Easily took on Super Saiyan Broly as a Super Saiyan and had a very noticeable advantage[Statistics Values 1]) | Low Multiverse level (As a Super Saiyan Blue, he defeated Full Power Super Saiyan Broly with relative ease, who was stated by Goku to 'probably' be stronger than Beerus[Statistics Values 1])

Speed: Massively FTL+ (At least 118.25 sextillion c, likely at least 75.68 duodecillion c. Kept up with and outpaced Super Saiyan Broly as a Super Saiyan, even reacting to some attacks in Base form at the start of the fight) | Massively FTL+ (At least 118.25 sextillion c, likely at least 12.1088 quattuordecillion c. Faster than Full Power Super Saiyan Broly as a Super Saiyan Blue)

Lifting Strength: At least Class T (Far superior to Base Goku, who endured Pretty Black Hole's gravitational pull[Statistics Values 2])

Striking Strength: Low Multiverse level | Low Multiverse level

Durability: Low Multiverse level | Low Multiverse level

Stamina: Superhuman (As a fusion of Goku and Vegeta, Gogeta should have comparable stamina. He did not get tired in his fight against Broly and his fusees have withstood extreme punishment and kept on fighting. However, given that his fusion can only last for thirty minutes at most, his stamina is irrelevant as he will eventually defuse)

Range: Standard Melee Range; Low Multiversal with Ki blasts, attacks and Instant Transmission.

Standard Equipment: None notable

Intelligence: At least Above Average generally. Extraordinary Genius combatant (With a combination of Goku's prodigal skill and Vegeta's cunning, Gogeta is an extremely intelligent individual when it comes to combat, with a skill that is matched only by the greatest of opponents. He should possess Goku's mastery of ki and understanding of the Super Saiyan transformations and their costs and his ability to effortlessly replicate other ki-based techniques, along with Vegeta's cunning and skill at reading his opponents' movements)

Weaknesses: Gogeta cannot survive in the vacuum of space and needs to locate a ki signature to teleport using Instant Transmission. Metamoran Fusion can only last for up to thirty minutes at most.
