Seripa, (セリパ Seripa) also called Fasha in the Funimation dub, is a Saiyan warrior within the Saiyan Army, and the only female member of Bardock's crew in its final incarnation (Bardock's wife Gine is a former member of the crew).

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Seripa is of average height and build, with a slightly muscular physique and a pale complexion. She has flat hair with cropped, spiky bangs similar to Videl's second hairstyle and purple eyes. Her attire includes Battle Armor paired with a pink bodysuit. Like all Saiyans in Universe 7, she has a tail wrapped around her waist, resembling a makeshift belt. She also wears white gloves, boots, a green scouter, golden earrings, long golden leg warmers on one leg, and a white leg band on both legs.

In "Dragon Ball Super: Broly," Seripa's bodysuit is navy blue, and she sports a matching band on her leg.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Seripa is a fierce and skilled fighter with a strong sense of camaraderie and honor, like most Saiyans and her teammates. She also shows a maternal side, referring to Bardock's son as a "little tike." In "Xenoverse 2," Bardock describes her as having a fiery temper that made her wild in battle, yet he considers her more reliable than the average warrior, indicating his respect for her abilities.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku[edit | edit source]

Seripa is introduced when she and her teammates (Bardock, Tora, Borgos, and Shugesh) attack Planet Kanassa in their Great Ape forms. After the battle, while having lunch, she urges Bardock to visit his newborn son, Kakarot, but he dismisses her suggestion. When Bardock is injured by the last surviving Kanassan, Seripa and the others decide to take him back to Planet Vegeta for healing.

After leaving Bardock to recover, the team heads to Planet Meat for their next mission, where they easily defeat the inhabitants. However, they are ambushed and killed by Dodoria's elites under Frieza's orders before they can celebrate their victory.

Frieza Saga[edit | edit source]

Seripa makes a brief appearance alongside Bardock and Tora in "Dragon Ball Z," during Frieza's recollection of various Saiyans he has killed.

Dragon Ball Super[edit | edit source]

In Toyotarou's interpretation for "Dragon Ball Super: Broly," Seripa and the other squad members are with Tora when he is contacted by Leek about the order to return. Shortly after, they are killed by Dodoria and his subordinates.

Broly[edit | edit source]

Seripa makes a cameo appearance in "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" when Frieza uses his scouter to detect snipers in King Vegeta's palace.

Episode of Bardock[edit | edit source]

Seripa appears briefly alongside her fallen comrades, Tora, Borgos, and Shugesh.

Victory Mission[edit | edit source]

In "Victory Mission," Seripa is the Hero Avatar of a female Earthling named Mizore. Mizore adopts Seripa's form and race in the "Dragon Ball Heroes" game using advanced time travel technology. During the second tournament, Mizore, as Seripa, battles against the Android Berserker Genome but is defeated. After Haze Shenron is expelled from Rezok's body, he possesses Mizore/Seripa, but Froze easily knocks Haze's Dragon Ball out of her, rendering her unconscious, and Erito takes Mizore back to the real world.

Dokkan Battle[edit | edit source]

Area 11 - Unknown Saiyans[edit | edit source]

In a dimensionally distorted Age ???, Seripa, Tora, Shugesh, and Borgos, during their mission on Planet Meat before learning of Frieza's betrayal, find themselves on another planet. They encounter King Kai's Time Patrol, consisting of Future Trunks and his unseen partner (the player). The Time Patrol reveals they are on Earth, a planet the team recognizes as Kakarot's destination. Unaware of the Saiyan Genocide and that Bardock's son Kakarot is now an adult, Seripa and her teammates decide to conquer Earth before his arrival, noticing the strength of the Earthlings is greater than their outdated intel suggested. Oblivious to their connection to Goku's father, they confront the Time Patrol. Shugesh fights first but is defeated, followed by Seripa, who becomes the first female Saiyan Future Trunks encounters. Despite this, the Time Patrol defeats her, and Borgos steps in only to meet the same fate. The three then team up against the Time Patrol but are defeated again, prompting Tora to join. Even with Tora, they lose.

However, the Ginyu Force (minus Captain Ginyu) allies with Team Bardock due to their loyalty to the Saiyan cause, and they launch a combined attack against the Time Patrol. Seripa teams up with Jeice, but both are defeated. The Dragon Team intervenes to support the Time Patrol, who continue searching for Goku, eventually discovering Captain Ginyu had stolen his body. Team Bardock, unaware of Frieza's betrayal, joins the modern-day Frieza Force. Meanwhile, the Time Patrol encounters Bardock, who is determined to avenge his comrades' deaths by confronting Frieza. Despite Bardock's history with Team Bardock, Future Trunks does not recognize him as Goku's father and sees him as an ally because of his desire to defeat Frieza.

Area 18 - The Epic Attack and Defense[edit | edit source]

During Frieza's second major invasion, Seripa and her teammates join his forces to support Third Form Frieza against the Time Patrol, following their victory over the Ginyu Force and Cooler's Armored Squadron. Frieza, recognizing their loyalty, allows them to fight alongside him. However, the Time Patrol defeats them and Third Form Frieza, forcing Frieza to transform into his Final Form. Cooler’s Armored Squadron informs Frieza of Cooler’s arrival, prompting a tactical retreat.

It remains unknown if Seripa and her teammates would eventually encounter Bardock or other Saiyan survivors in Age ???, but the possibility exists as they and the Frieza Force remain active by the time Piccolo spars with the Time Patrol in "Area 27: Taxing Endeavor," the final area of Quest Mode.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Seripa's Japanese name is an anagram of the Japanese pronunciation of the vegetable "parsley," not "celery," as many people believed.
  • The original name given to her by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru was "Kōn" (コーン), a pun on the vegetable "corn."
  • In Nakatsuru's initial character designs for the movie, Seripa wore battle armor with shoulder pieces and had a cloth-like material resembling a skirt at her waist. Her hair was also larger and bushier, similar to Ranfan's, but these designs were altered when Akira Toriyama completed his draft.
  • Due to an error in interpreting Seripa's gender, she was voiced by a male actor, Rodrigo Andreatto, in the first Brazilian dub. Andreatto also voiced young Vegeta in the TV special. The mistake was corrected in the second dub.
  • In "Budokai Tenkaichi 3," Seripa's Great Ape form sounds similar to Frieza's Second or Third form. This is the only instance where a female Great Ape is not voiced by Shane Ray (as is typical with non-controlled apes).
  • Seripa is the first named, full-blooded female Saiyan introduced in the series and the only known female to transform into a Great Ape.
  • She and Gine are the only known female members of Team Bardock. However, after Gine's retirement, Seripa became the only remaining female member in the team's final incarnation.
  • In "Dragon Ball FighterZ," Seripa is referenced by Bardock's Color 08 costume, which is a recolor based on her Battle Armor.
