Kefla (ケフラ Kefura) is the Potara fusion between Caulifla and Kale, and is the secret weapon of Universe 6 in a last-ditch attempt to win the Tournament of Power, forming after the two were almost eliminated by Goku.
Appearance
Kefla is a young, slender woman with a combination of traits from both Caulifla and Kale. She has spiky hair resembling Caulifla’s, with bangs framing her face, while the rest of her hair is tied in a ponytail like Kale’s. Her facial features and eye shape are closer to Caulifla’s, but her skin tone is a blend of both. She wears Kale's golden armbands, although they are shaped like Caulifla's wristbands. Kefla’s boots have the black part of Caulifla’s, and her outfit is a mix of their clothing—featuring a purple belly shirt and form-fitting purple pants, drawing from Caulifla’s color scheme. She wears two green Potara earrings, signifying the fusion. In the manga, she remains in a permanent Super Saiyan state due to fusing while Kale and Caulifla were transformed.
Personality
Kefla’s personality primarily reflects Caulifla's traits. She inherits Caulifla’s confidence, boldness, and cocky attitude, immediately remarking how great she feels upon fusion. This self-assured nature extends into battle, as she displays Caulifla's desire to challenge stronger opponents and continues to push herself to become more powerful. During her clash with Goku, she dismisses his Super Saiyan God form as weak, further highlighting her arrogance.
Despite this, Kefla retains a degree of respect toward Goku. She refers to him as a “worthy opponent,” and her excitement grows when Goku powers up to Super Saiyan Blue. After knocking him down, she shows some sadness at thinking she defeated him too easily, but becomes pleased when he gets up again. Her determination peaks when Goku reactivates Ultra Instinct Sign, causing Kefla to try to destroy him in a fit of rage.
In the manga, Kefla’s outlook is more defeatist, especially when fighting Gohan. She realizes that there is no way to measure up to his strength and fatefully accepts the possibility of her universe’s defeat.
Biography
Dragon Ball Super
Universe Survival Saga
In the anime, Caulifla and Kale use the Potara fusion as a last resort just before being eliminated by Super Saiyan God Goku. The result of the fusion is Kefla, who immediately jumps back into the fight. Upon witnessing Kefla’s immense power, Goku becomes visibly concerned, noting that her energy appears limitless. To test her new abilities, Kefla moves with incredible speed, surprising Super Saiyan God Goku and catching him off guard. Despite Goku’s efforts, she easily shrugs off his attacks, calling them "lame" and knocking him down.
As the battle intensifies, Goku is forced to transform into Super Saiyan Blue to keep up with Kefla, who responds by turning into a Super Saiyan. They fight evenly for a while, but one of Kefla's surprise attacks pushes Goku to use Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken. With this transformation, Goku briefly gains the upper hand, but Kefla lands a decisive blow, defeating him in this form. As she prepares to finish him off, Goku suddenly regains his Ultra Instinct Sign form, cornering her.
In response, Kefla powers up further, transforming into Super Saiyan 2. Her power impresses everyone, and she claims she could destroy an entire universe with a single shot. She unleashes a series of powerful attacks, but Goku, in his Ultra Instinct state, dodges them all and lands a hit, which surprises Kefla. As the fight continues, she blocks Goku's punch but is kicked away when she tries to counterattack. Enraged, Kefla powers up again, unleashing an overwhelming barrage of ki blasts and lightning bolts across the arena. Although Goku manages to dodge most of her attacks, he is grazed a couple of times.
Goku then begins charging a Kamehameha while continuing to evade her relentless assault. Kefla believes he won't be able to dodge in mid-air and fires a powerful ki blast at him, but to her surprise, Goku avoids it. In a final move, Goku closes the distance and hits her with a Divine Kamehameha at point-blank range, sending her flying out of the arena and breaking her Potara earrings, which ends the fusion.
In the manga, Kefla is born from the fusion of Caulifla and Kale to stop Kale's rampage. As a result of both being Super Saiyans, Kefla automatically manifests as a Super Saiyan. She enters the battle against Team Universe 11, where she showcases her power by eliminating several opponents, including Kunshi, Tupper, Zoire, Cocotte, Kettle, and Vewon.
Afterward, she targets Goku and Jiren with a ki blast, but it is intercepted by Gohan, who steps in to challenge her instead. During their intense battle, Kefla gains the upper hand and mocks Gohan, questioning if he really doesn’t need to transform into a Super Saiyan. Gohan confidently asserts that he has chosen to evolve as a human rather than relying on his Saiyan heritage.
The fight escalates, pushing both fighters to their limits. As they reach exhaustion, they charge toward each other for a final attack. They throw punches that land simultaneously, resulting in both of them being knocked off the arena and eliminated in the process.
Super Dragon Ball Heroes
Universal Conflict Saga
In the Super Dragon Ball Heroes manga, after Vegeta and Future Trunks manage to force the Neo Machine Mutants Oren and Kamin to leave their hosts, Caulifla and Kale decide to fuse again using Shin's Potara earrings to become Kefla. This fusion is motivated by their desire for revenge against those who possessed them.
Kefla transforms into a Super Saiyan and launches an attack on Oren and Kamin. After her initial assault, she instructs her allies to assist Hit, who is engaged with a more formidable opponent.
In the game, Kefla battles Kamin and Oren from the Core Area Warriors, eventually facing off against Fused Zamasu in the process.
