Trunks (Xeno) (トランクス :ゼノ Torankusu Zeno), also known as Time Patroller Trunks, is a non-canon version of Future Trunks and one of the main protagonists in Dragon Ball Heroes. His origin mirrors that of the original Future Trunks up until his return to the future after Cell’s defeat. However, his story diverges when he is forcibly recruited into the Time Patrol by Chronoa, the Supreme Kai of Time, as punishment for violating the natural laws of time travel. Since then, he has served as a core member of the Time Patrol and plays a vital role in safeguarding the timeline from those who seek to manipulate it.
Appearance
Xeno Trunks’ attire is inspired by early 20th-century military uniforms. He wears a black World War-era trench coat with a brown fur-lined collar, paired with an olive-green sweater underneath. His pants are olive green as well, wrapped with lighter olive bandages around the shins. He completes the look with brown lace-up boots, brown gloves, and a newly forged sword. Trunks retains his signature lavender hair.
After training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber during the events of Dragon Ball Heroes, his hair grows longer and is tied back into a ponytail.
In the Dark King Mechikabura Saga, Xeno Trunks changes to a new outfit featuring a fur-less coat worn over a dark reddish-brown tank top. He also dons black boots, and his belt buckle is now silver.
During the Universe Creation Saga, his coat is swapped out for a more modern, open-front variant.
In the Supreme Kai of Time Saga, Xeno Trunks reverts to his short hairstyle. He wears a red sweater, a black buttoned vest, black belt, orange gloves, black pants, and yellow shoes.
Personality
Xeno Trunks' personality largely mirrors that of his main timeline counterpart—brave, determined, and justice-driven. Initially, he is intimidated by Chronoa’s sharp temper when he first begins working for her, but over time, he forms a deep bond with her rooted in their shared responsibility of maintaining the timeline. This connection runs so deep that when Chronoa falls under the control of the Dark Empire, Trunks is devastated and moved to tears in his fury.
Much like his original self, Xeno Trunks maintains strong, respectful relationships with Goku, Vegeta, and the rest of the Dragon Team. These bonds extend to his fellow Time Patrollers, with whom he shares trust, camaraderie, and a mutual goal of preserving history.
Biography
Background
Xeno Trunks lived a life nearly identical to that of the original Future Trunks, enduring the same hardships throughout the Androids Saga. However, his timeline takes a different course following his return to the future after the Cell Games. His divergence begins with his unexpected recruitment into the Time Patrol.
Super Dragon Ball Heroes
Dark Demon Realm Saga
In the Super Dragon Ball Heroes manga, following his victory at the Cell Games and subsequent resurrection by the Dragon Balls, Future Trunks returns to his future, where he successfully eliminates the evil Androids and later defeats Future Cell. Shortly thereafter, he suddenly finds himself transported to the Time Nest, where he’s ambushed by Chronoa, the Supreme Kai of Time. After narrowly avoiding her initial attack, Chronoa explains that his unauthorized use of a time machine violated the laws of time. She informs him of a growing threat—Towa and Mira—and offers him a chance at redemption by joining the Time Patrol. She gifts him a new outfit, thus beginning his journey as Xeno Trunks. His origins closely resemble the Future Trunks from Dragon Ball Xenoverse.
Xeno Trunks and Chronoa travel to confront Towa and Mira at their hideout. Mira launches an attack, which Xeno Trunks deflects with his sword. Towa then summons the Masked Saiyan, who quickly overpowers Trunks in his base form. However, Trunks transforms into a Super Saiyan, gaining the upper hand and managing to crack the Masked Saiyan’s mask.
Enraged, Mira powers up into Super Mira, but before he can defeat Trunks, the Masked Saiyan attacks Mira from behind. The blow shatters the mask, revealing the Saiyan to be Bardock. Trunks and Bardock team up and successfully overwhelm Super Mira, but before the battle concludes, Towa escapes with Mira.
Following this, Trunks returns to the Time Nest and discusses the threat of the Demon Realm with Chronoa. During their conversation, Demigra suddenly appears. Although a confrontation seems imminent, Demigra vanishes just as quickly. Chronoa, believing Demigra is too powerful for Trunks to handle alone, summons Xeno Goku—the strongest warrior from Trunks’ memories—to assist him for a limited time.
Dark Empire Saga
When Chronoa detects a disturbance in the Namekian timeline, Xeno Trunks and Xeno Goku are dispatched to investigate. They discover that Xeno Frieza has been empowered by the One-Star Dark Dragon Ball. Trunks and Goku team up with Super Saiyan Goku (from that timeline), launching a combined Kamehameha that distracts Frieza. Seizing the opportunity, Trunks finishes the battle by cutting Frieza in half, mirroring the villain’s own accidental self-destruction with the Death Saucer.
Soon after, Demon God Towa appears to claim the Dark Dragon Ball. Trunks fires a Kamehameha at her, but Mira jumps in the way and is vaporized, allowing Towa to escape.
Afterward, Chronoa detects two new anomalies in the timeline. She splits the team, sending herself with Xeno Goku, while Trunks is paired with a new recruit—Xeno Vegeta. The pair is sent to the altered version of the Cell Games, where they find most of the Dragon Team defeated and a powerful Xeno Cell infused with a Dark Dragon Ball.
Xeno Vegeta quickly takes the offensive, landing a powerful Final Flash that obliterates most of Cell’s body. However, just as he’s about to finish him off, Demon God Gravy intervenes and knocks Vegeta unconscious. Trunks engages Gravy but is ultimately defeated and forced back.
With no other options, Trunks performs a fusion with the unconscious Vegeta, resulting in the powerful warrior Xeno Vegeks.
However, the fusion into Xeno Vegeks proves ineffective against Gravy, Putine, and later Cell-X, and ultimately defuses. Just as Gravy is about to deliver the final blow, Chronoa teleports them to her location to aid in the ongoing battle against Xeno Majin Buu and the Dark Empire Forces.
Upon arrival, Xeno Trunks and Xeno Vegeta are immediately thrown into action. Trunks quickly saves Xeno Goku from the newly transformed Demon God Xeno Majin Buu and engages him in Super Saiyan form, buying time for Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta to fuse into Xeno Vegito. During their intense clash, a mysterious figure appears, interfering in the battle and aiding Xeno Majin Buu’s escape. Before the Time Patrol can respond, Xeno Majin Buu vanishes.
Back in the Sacred World of the Kai, the same mysterious individual appears once more. Xeno Trunks attempts to attack, but Chronoa stops him, wanting to question the stranger. The individual identifies himself as Chamel and claims to mean no harm. He warns the group that Hell is growing increasingly unstable.
Despite initial hesitation, the Time Patrol agrees to assist Chamel. Chronoa transfers all of Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta's injuries onto herself and takes time to recover, leaving Xeno Trunks to guard her while Chamel departs with the two Saiyans to investigate Hell.
Meanwhile, Xeno Trunks and Xeno Gohan are dispatched to another corrupted timeline. There, they confront Towa, Salsa, and a Dark Dragon Ball-empowered Xeno Lord Slug. Towa forcibly evolves Slug into his Dark Evolution state, increasing his size and power dramatically. Overwhelmed, Xeno Trunks and Gohan perform the Fusion Dance, becoming Xeno Gohanks, but their combined power still proves ineffective against the sheer scale of Lord Slug’s transformation.
Later, Xeno Trunks joins the rest of the Time Patrol in the Demon Realm as Mechikabura attempts to summon Dark Shenron to restore his youth. His subordinates—Gravy, Putine, Towa, Salsa, Mira, and Xeno Dabura—delay the Time Patrol to buy Mechikabura time. During the skirmish, Trunks and Chronoa break through the chaos, with Trunks ascending to Super Saiyan 3 to dispatch enemy forces. However, he is struck by Dark Shenron’s tail, and soon after, everyone—except Chronoa—is transported back to the Time Nest.
Dark King Mechikabura Saga
The Time Patrol is thanked by Elder Kai for their continued efforts in safeguarding history. However, a new disturbance is detected, leading them to Age 790, where they witness Gogeta battling Omega Shenron. They’re suddenly ambushed by mind-controlled versions of their present-day counterparts and allies. Xeno Trunks engages in battle with his younger self before noticing Towa and Xeno Dabura nearby. Demanding answers, he is assured Chronoa is safe.
As Demigra, Chamel, and Robelu appear, Xeno Trunks questions Chamel’s allegiance. Chamel cryptically tells him to judge for himself. Trunks wonders whether Demigra intends to overthrow Chronoa, but Demigra dismisses the idea, claiming it’s simply “convenient” to use the Time Patrol.
Suddenly, time freezes. Recognizing the ability, Trunks looks up and sees a mind-controlled Chronoa floating above them. Robelu then teleports everyone to Demigra’s lair.
There, Chamel explains the presence of six Hell Gates, each guarded by a Demon God maintaining the barrier around Mechikabura’s Tower. These barriers must be destroyed. Robelu transforms Trunks’ sword into a Key Sword, assigning him to remain behind and cut off the source of the barrier’s power, slightly weakening each Demon God within.
After the team succeeds, they regroup at their hideout. However, time freezes again, and Chronoa appears once more. This time, Trunks is unaffected due to the Key Sword's protective properties. Realizing this, Chronoa unleashes her Time Power Unleashed form and uses Time Clock, launching a barrage of dark arrows that pierce Trunks. While wounded, Trunks glimpses fragments of Chronoa’s memories, revealing how she was defeated and brainwashed by Towa and Mechikabura.
Enraged, Trunks powers up to Super Saiyan 3 and charges forward. With a powerful strike of the Key Sword, he purifies Chronoa, breaking the dark spell and unfreezing the others. Chronoa apologizes, but Trunks tells her she has nothing to be sorry for.
Suddenly, a massive surge of dark energy descends as Mechikabura emerges atop a nearby tower. Trunks remains the only one standing, protected by the Key Sword. He charges in and attacks, but Mechikabura effortlessly stops his strike with a single finger, defeats Trunks with ease, and throws the Key Sword aside.
Mechikabura then summons and absorbs the other Demon Gods, transforming into his own Time Power Unleashed form before departing for the Time Nest. Chronoa urges Trunks to pursue him. As he prepares to follow, the other defeated Saiyans offer him their remaining energy, triggering an unexpected transformation into Super Saiyan God.
Xeno Trunks and Chronoa arrive at the Time Nest, where he engages Mechikabura once more, now wielding his own sword. Though Mechikabura is intrigued by Trunks’ newfound power, the battle is interrupted by Fin, who arrives in his Ultimate Evolution form to face Trunks, with Towa observing from nearby.
Fin fires a barrage of energy blasts, forcing Xeno Trunks to shield the two Supreme Kais. Chronoa steps in, using her Freeze ability to halt the attack, giving Xeno Trunks the opening to engage Fin directly. He swiftly defeats the artificial Majin with a powerful kick that sends him crashing to the ground. Wasting no time, Xeno Trunks charges at Mechikabura—but the Dark King teleports Towa in front of him as a human shield. Xeno Trunks' sword pierces her, and in that instant, Mechikabura conjures a black hole that begins consuming everything nearby, including Towa, Trunks' sword, and part of the Time Nest.
Trapped within the void, Chronoa explains that Mechikabura is now absorbing time itself, and if left unchecked, the universe will soon be destroyed. Just as all seems lost, chains suddenly wrap around them, pulling them out of the void—thanks to Demigra. He demands to know the whereabouts of the Key Sword, but Chronoa informs him that Mechikabura had taken it and discarded it. Despite this, Xeno Trunks, supported by Demigra, charges forward with his own sword and lands a slash across Mechikabura's chest. However, now able to regenerate instantly, Mechikabura recovers without effort.
At that moment, the rest of the Time Patrol and Demigra’s forces arrive through a rift—Xeno Goku among them, now wielding the Key Sword. While they engage Mechikabura, Chronoa focuses on recharging the sword. Once ready, Xeno Trunks takes it up once more. With Demigra restraining Mechikabura using his chains, Trunks lands another blow. This time, a large seal bearing Chronoa’s crest appears on Mechikabura’s chest. By combining the power of the gods, darkness, light, and time, they manage to seal Mechikabura away. Trunks delivers the final strike, banishing him to an Eternal Labyrinth. As Mechikabura vanishes, he swears revenge and promises he will one day escape. With Tokitoki restoring the Time Nest, the Time Patrol celebrates their hard-earned victory.
Universe Creation Saga
In the anime, at the Time Nest, Chronoa informs Xeno Trunks and Xeno Pan that Tokitoki has gone missing. Fearing the worst, they immediately set out to find him, using a wrist device on Xeno Pan to travel through different eras. They arrive at Capsule Corporation in Age 780, where they find Tokitoki alongside their counterparts and timeline family. Vegeta explains to Goku that Trunks is from a different dimension.
Suddenly, all twelve Gods of Destruction appear, searching for Tokitoki due to a prophecy that foretells a strange bird destroying all universes. Xeno Trunks refuses to believe Tokitoki is responsible, reminding Beerus that the bird once saved all dimensions. But when Beerus refuses to stand down, Xeno Trunks joins the others in attempting to take him on. He attacks with his sword, but Beerus easily stops the strike with his fingers and kicks Trunks away.
The battle is interrupted by the arrival of Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta, who reveal the roots of the Universe Tree. Soon after, Fu appears and unveils his plan to create a new universe using the tree's power. While Beerus tries to halt the tree’s energy absorption, he orders the others to deal with Fu. Xeno Trunks joins Goku and Vegeta in pursuit.
With help from Tokitoki, they arrive in a new area where they sense two powerful enemies approaching—Turles and Bojack. Unfamiliar with them due to his timeline diverging after the Cell Saga, Xeno Trunks listens as Vegeta explains their past as major threats to Earth. Trunks stays behind to protect Xeno Pan while Goku and Vegeta engage the villains. Fu soon arrives with Dogidogi, who freezes everyone in place, allowing Fu to kidnap Tokitoki and escape.
Later, Trunks and the others are pulled into Hell through a time distortion. There, they reunite with Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta but are immediately met by the hostile Janemba. As a Super Saiyan 3, Xeno Trunks joins the Saiyans in launching a combined energy blast, but Janemba remains unharmed. Soon, Putine and Salsa arrive, and Trunks explains to Goku that they are former enemies from the Demon Realm.
When Janemba returns, Trunks ascends to Super Saiyan God, stunning both Goku and Vegeta. Despite his increased strength, Janemba proves too strong. With no other option, Trunks, Pan, Goku, and Vegeta pour their Saiyan energy into Xeno Goku and Vegeta, enabling them to transform into Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker forms. With their new power, they defeat Janemba. Putine then teleports everyone to the Crack of Time using her magic.
Upon arriving and witnessing the Universe Tree firsthand, Xeno Trunks and the rest of the Time Patrol are abruptly teleported away by Towa. They find themselves bound by Cumber’s dark energy. Towa reveals that she is the creator of Fu and intends to make him the next Dark King. She then extracts a dark energy from each of them—an energy they had unknowingly absorbed following Mechikabura’s defeat at the hands of Xeno Trunks. With no further use for them, Towa casts the Time Patrol through a dark vacuum, sending them to another location.
New Space-Time War Saga
Xeno Trunks returns to the Time Nest and informs Goku that they are currently trapped in the Pseudo Universe—a fake, lifeless version of Universe 7 created by Fu. Despite being a copy, it remains connected to the real universe.
Supreme Kai of Time Saga
Xeno Trunks is later invited to join the Super Space-Time Tournament, forming a team alongside fellow Time Patrollers such as Xeno Goku, Xeno Vegeta, and Xeno Pan. On the battlefield, Trunks encounters Tapion, who recognizes him from their past meeting when Trunks was a child. However, Xeno Trunks has no memory of the encounter. Tapion challenges him to show his strength, prompting Trunks to transform into Super Saiyan God.
At some point, Xeno Trunks secures one of the three Time Fairies, helping his team advance to the next round. When the mysterious Warriors in Black appear and reveal that the losing teams—and their entire universes—have been erased, Xeno Trunks immediately confronts the Future Warrior in Black, demanding the location of Aeos and the Scroll of Eternity. Aeos soon appears and reveals that the tournament is being held to determine the one true history—erasing all other timelines deemed unworthy.
In the second round, set in a ruined West City, Xeno Trunks (still in Super Saiyan God form) battles the Future Warrior in Black. Recognizing his fighting style and techniques, Xeno Trunks is stunned when the warrior removes his cloak to reveal himself as an alternate-timeline version of Future Gohan. Gohan explains that in his timeline, both Future Trunks and Future Bulma were killed by the Androids. He blames his own weakness for their deaths and reveals that he accepted power from Aeos through the Dark Dragon Balls to prevent history from repeating itself. Gohan transforms into a Super Saiyan, and the battle intensifies.
Gohan charges a One-Handed Kamehameha while Xeno Trunks counters with a Masenko, leading to a beam struggle in which Trunks comes out victorious. As Gohan drops to his knees, exhausted and defeated, Trunks tells him that his strength never came from a place of darkness.
In the Manga
In a battlefield resembling a devastated West City, Super Saiyan Xeno Trunks fights the cloaked Future Warrior in Black. From his ki, scar, and fighting style, Trunks deduces his opponent's identity. The warrior confirms it—he is Future Gohan. As they clash, Trunks demands to know why Gohan has sided with Aeos. Gohan claims he’s not aiding her destruction, but protecting the one true timeline—something he failed to do in his own, where the Androids wiped out everyone, including his version of Trunks. He accepted Aeos’ power in order to ensure history wouldn’t be lost again.
Transforming into a Super Saiyan, Gohan continues the battle. After taking a direct blast, Trunks ascends into Super Saiyan God and tells Gohan that while he understands his pain, sacrificing countless timelines to protect one is not the answer. The two resume their fierce battle, culminating in a powerful clash—Gohan’s One-Handed Kamehameha collides with Trunks’ Masenko, resulting in a massive explosion. When the dust settles, Gohan is lying on the ground, defeated. He compliments Trunks on his strength, and Trunks vows to protect every timeline.
In the Anime
As Xeno Trunks and the Future Warrior in Black recover, they are suddenly confronted by Super Perfect Cell, Super Android 13, Full Power Bojack, and Lord Slug—all summoned and empowered by Dark King Demigra. The four villains fire a combined blast at Trunks, but Gohan intercepts it with a Masenko. Gohan then apologizes for failing to protect Trunks in his own timeline but promises to protect him now. Trunks thanks Gohan, vowing to do the same.
They transform—Gohan into a Super Saiyan, Trunks into Super Saiyan God—and fight together against the villains. Following Demigra’s defeat, his summoned warriors are returned to their original space-times.
Back at the selection arena, Xeno Trunks shares a heartfelt farewell with the Future Warrior in Black as Gohan departs alongside Aeos.
Demon Invader Saga
After the Super Space-Time Tournament concludes, Xeno Trunks is the only member of his Space-Time who remains behind. When Chronoa attempts to return the group to Earth, she discovers that the planet is gone. Traveling to King Kai’s Planet for answers, they encounter Majin Ozotto, who reveals that he has devoured both King Kai and Earth.
After Ozotto swiftly defeats Piccolo and Gohan, Xeno Trunks transforms into Super Saiyan God and teams up with Goku and Vegeta (as Super Saiyan Blue) to battle him. Despite their combined efforts, Ozotto proves too powerful, forcing Chronoa to use the Time Scrolls to initiate a temporary retreat.
Once recovered, the group tracks Ozotto to Namek, only to find he has already consumed all the Namekians. Ozotto leaves behind an invitation to his palace, offering to face them at full power.
Upon arriving, Ozotto explains that to save those he has absorbed, each warrior must enter one of five doors and defeat one of his clones. Later, Xeno Trunks reunites with Goku and Vegeta and witnesses Ozotto absorb Chronoa, gaining access to her unique powers. The trio fend off hordes of clones until Xeno Goku frees Chronoa from her containment, stripping Ozotto of his stolen abilities. Goku then defeats the true Ozotto, and everyone safely returns home.
In the manga, during the battle with Ozotto, the trio are frozen in time and nearly absorbed—until Xeno Gohan, Xeno Goten, Xeno Pan, and Tokitoki arrive. Tokitoki transforms Xeno Trunks' sword into the Key Sword, the same blade used to defeat Mechikabura. This allows Trunks to bypass Ozotto’s powers. The Time Patrol creates an opening, enabling Trunks to land a decisive strike. Together, they overwhelm Ozotto, freeing Chronoa and ending the threat.
Xenoverse
Trunks is a central figure in Dragon Ball Xenoverse, working as Chronoa’s assistant and the leader of the Time Patrol. Based in Toki Toki City during Age 850, the Time Patrol oversees the Time Storage Vault. Due to his actions during the Android Saga, Trunks joins the Patrol to atone for altering time.
When the main timeline becomes distorted, Trunks wishes for a strong ally—resulting in the summoning of the Future Warrior. Trunks’ background stems from Dragon Ball Online, where he serves as Chronoa’s assistant and field commander.
In Xenoverse, it's revealed that Trunks became Chronoa’s assistant after she confronted him for using his mother's Time Machine. Though she told Trunks it was a serious offense, Chronoa later confides to the Future Warrior that his time-traveling incident was actually the first historical distortion in Universe 7—and she just needed an assistant. She tricked Trunks into working for her, though she never expected him to take it so seriously. Still, she acknowledges that his motivations were noble and allows his alternate history to stand—so long as he refrains from interfering directly with timelines involving his past self.
Trunks serves as the Future Warrior’s mission controller but occasionally joins them in the field—especially when fighting Mira and Towa, whose origins from alternate timelines won’t affect the main history. However, Towa tries to erase Trunks from history by empowering the Future Androids to kill his past self in Age 783 and Age 785. This endangers Trunks’ entire existence (and by extension, the Warrior’s).
The Future Warrior manages to save Trunks from Future #17 and #18, though Towa appears to reveal a second alteration—Future Cell, now powered by dark magic. A mysterious stranger helps the Warrior travel to the new disturbance, where they help Trunks defeat Cell, bringing peace to his timeline.
Trunks thanks the Warrior, who leaves without revealing their identity. Later, it's revealed that the mysterious helper was Demigra, the Demon God who had been sealed in the Crack of Time by Chronoa 75 million years ago after trying to steal Tokitoki. Though sealed, Demigra's power begins leaking due to Towa and Mira’s actions.
Demigra attempts to destroy Trunks, Chronoa, and the Warrior with his Majin Emblem but fails thanks to Chronoa's intervention. When he reappears during Age 778—the year Beerus visits Earth—Chronoa panics, warning Trunks about the immense threat Beerus poses as the God of Destruction. Trunks, unaware of who Beerus is, quickly realizes the gravity of the situation as Chronoa stresses the urgency of stopping Demigra to preserve history.
Trunks watches as his father, Vegeta, desperately tries to keep Beerus content. However, Demigra interferes from afar, attempting to manipulate the God of Destruction. When Beerus grows agitated, the Future Warrior joins Majin Buu in battle against him. During the chaos, Bulma is struck, pushing Vegeta into a blind rage. Trunks watches with awe and pride as his father taps into Super Saiyan 2 (Enraged) and even cheers him on. Eventually, Trunks witnesses Goku ascend to the legendary Super Saiyan God form.
Just when it seems Demigra has successfully taken control of Beerus, he materializes before Goku and the Warrior to gloat—only to be blasted by Beerus’ Sphere of Destruction. It turns out Beerus was merely pretending to be under control, using the opportunity to draw Demigra out and punish him for daring to manipulate a god.
After Demigra’s Mirage is defeated by Beerus and the Warrior, Trunks is stunned to see Beerus and Whis follow the Warrior back to the Time Nest. Beerus demands to know Demigra’s location so he can destroy him personally. Chronoa intervenes, warning of the catastrophic consequences if Beerus fights within the Time Nest. Beerus offers a compromise: if Trunks and the Future Warrior can defeat him and Whis in a sparring match, he’ll leave Demigra to the Time Patrol. They accept and succeed—though it's clear neither Beerus nor Whis used their full strength. Satisfied, Beerus leaves the matter in their hands.
Demigra then executes a new plan, using the Dragon Balls to resurrect Frieza, Cell, and Kid Buu, placing them under his control and unleashing them on West City in Age 778. Trunks remains behind to protect Tokitoki and monitor events while Chronoa alerts Goku using Toki Toki City's Dragon Balls. With Goku’s help, the Future Warrior defeats the villains, but must also free a possessed Vegeta, Gohan, and Gotenks.
While the Warrior is away, Demigra escapes the Crack of Time and attacks Toki Toki City. He absorbs Tokitoki, gaining dominion over time and space. He then possesses Trunks and sends him to ambush the Warrior in Age 850. Though controlled, Trunks fights back mentally, urging the Warrior to keep attacking him to break the spell. The Warrior succeeds, but Demigra tries to possess the Warrior next. Trunks, using his last reserves of strength, disrupts Demigra’s focus, allowing Chronoa to dispel the dark magic.
Goku suddenly arrives via Instant Transmission to assist the Warrior. Demigra fails to control Goku, who had once achieved the Super Saiyan God form, and is defeated. Refusing to surrender, Demigra flees, and Goku teleports everyone to the Time Vault where Demigra plans to destroy all of history. With Trunks too injured to continue, the final battle falls to Goku and the Warrior. They defeat Demigra once and for all, saving Tokitoki and the Time Vault. Chronoa uses her powers to heal Trunks.
With Demigra’s defeat, Trunks and the Future Warrior continue defending the timeline, now facing threats caused by the residual wormholes Demigra created before his death. During the Legendary Super Saiyan Saga, Trunks helps track these anomalies, locating Bardock and Broly displaced on dying Namek in Age 762.
After Broly is defeated on Earth by the combined efforts of the Future Warrior, Great Ape Bardock, and Vegeta (transported via Dende’s wish to Porunga), Trunks arrives and knocks out Vegeta with a precise pressure point strike to stop him from asking questions. He assures the Warrior that he’ll return Bardock and Broly to their correct timelines.
In the GT timeline arc, Trunks is dismayed to see his counterpart infected by Baby's Tuffle parasite. He watches the clone attempt to manipulate Pan and the Warrior, but later comes to respect his alternate self when he bravely challenges Nappa and the Neo Ginyu Force. Trunks even shows concern when his counterpart is taken down by Hell Fighter 17. After Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta and the Warrior defeat the main GT villains, Trunks returns to send them back to their proper time and briefly reunites with Vegeta, who is pleased to see his future son thriving.
Xenoverse 2
Trunks returns in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 as Chronoa’s assistant and a senior Time Patroller. He appears in the Time Patrol recruitment video, warning new recruits about the dangers of altering history and using himself as an example of what not to do.
Prologue
Trunks and the Hero of Toki Toki City are busy searching for Towa and Mira, who have returned and begun manipulating history again. They recruit powerful villains such as Turles, Lord Slug, and Cooler to aid them.
The Saiyan Threat Saga
When Goku and the Warrior struggle against Turles during the Saiyan attack on Earth, Trunks informs them that his partner is on the way to help. He warns them that Turles is no ordinary foe and urges them to work together.
Ruckus on Planet Namek
After Krillin is saved from Zarbon, the Warrior is attacked by Lord Slug. Trunks rushes to help, determined to stop Slug from escaping like Turles did. Slug retreats, and Trunks gives chase.
The Ginyu Force Strikes Saga
Trunks tracks Ginyu during the Ginyu Force’s battle, only to be tricked and have his body stolen. Forced to fight in Ginyu’s body, he teams up with Goku and the Warrior to recover his body. Meanwhile, Turles helps Ginyu steal Goku’s body, but the timeline is eventually restored. Chronoa scolds Trunks for his carelessness, and Trunks promises to be more cautious moving forward.
Galactic Emperor Saga
As the Future Warrior battles Turles and Lord Slug, Towa and Mira suddenly appear. Trunks arrives to assist his past self, instructing the Toki Toki City Hero to pursue Mira while he helps contain Turles and Slug. The two villains retaliate with a massive combined energy wave, attempting to wipe out both Trunks and the Warrior. In response, Trunks launches a powerful Burning Attack, and the Future Warrior counters with their own energy blast. Their attacks merge into a single overwhelming wave, overpowering the enemy and seemingly vaporizing Turles and Slug.
With the battle concluded, Trunks chooses to pursue Mira alone, leaving the Future Warrior to assist Gohan and the others in their desperate struggle against Frieza.
After the Warrior defeats both Frieza and his brother Cooler, he tracks down Trunks—only to find him injured and exhausted after his confrontation with Mira. While the Warrior tends to him, Trunks urges his partner to continue the pursuit, unwilling to let Mira escape again.
Android Warfare Saga
Trunks and Elder Kai observe a disturbing alteration to Age 767: Imperfect Cell absorbs both Android 17 and 18 simultaneously, bypassing his Semi-Perfect form and instantly becoming Perfect Cell. Trunks explains to a baffled Elder Kai that this could erase the Cell Games from history altogether. Chronoa suggests Trunks accompany the Future Warrior on this mission, given his deep familiarity with this era.
As the Warrior engages Dark Android 17 alongside Piccolo, Trunks warns that Cell’s power could become catastrophic if he absorbs the enhanced android. He orders the Warrior to dispel the dark energy before Cell arrives. Despite their efforts, Cell appears and defeats Piccolo, prompting Android 16 to join the battle. Trunks realizes that Cell has already been empowered by Towa’s dark magic, making him stronger than even 16. Nevertheless, the timeline is eventually restored when Cell absorbs Android 17 as originally intended.
Later, Trunks discovers Mira’s intention to interfere in the Cell Games and joins the Warrior to confront him. They manage to stop Mira from disrupting Goku’s battle with Cell, but Towa reveals Mira’s presence was a diversion, stalling while she enacted her true plan. The villains escape, and Trunks tells the Warrior they must handle things from here on, as his past self is present at the Games and cannot be seen.
When Towa opens a wormhole connecting Earth to New Namek—summoning an army of Metal Coolers—Trunks heads there ahead of the Warrior. He infiltrates the Big Gete Star and initiates a self-destruct sequence by reprogramming its central computer.
Later, Trunks joins the Warrior against the remaining Metal Coolers. When Cooler mocks his recklessness, Trunks coolly reveals that his appearance was no impulsive act—he’s already set the Big Gete Star to explode. As the core detonates and Cooler is destroyed, the Metal Cooler army begins to self-destruct. Trunks then seals the wormhole, ensuring no further disruptions, and instructs the Warrior to return to Age 767 to check on Gohan and the others.
A Desperate Future Saga
Trunks is seen reviewing the Time Scroll of Age 780 from his own future, watching with sorrow as Future Gohan engages in his final battle against Androids 17 and 18. He also relives the moment when his teenage self discovers Gohan’s lifeless body and transforms into a Super Saiyan for the first time. Elder Kai expresses disapproval of time machine use, and Trunks—fully aware of the ramifications—admits he regrets breaking the laws of time, despite his intentions.
Suddenly, a distortion appears on the scroll. Chronoa warns Trunks of the dangers in allowing history to change in his past timeline. He solemnly agrees, having already experienced the fragility of his existence during Towa’s earlier two-pronged attack. Handing the scroll to the Future Warrior, Trunks entrusts them with preserving his history, just as they did before.
The Warrior travels to Age 780 and finds Future Gohan facing an anomaly: the presence of Future Android 16, who shouldn’t exist in that timeline. Trunks, watching from the Time Nest, realizes 16 has been sent to kill Gohan before his destined final stand against 17 and 18, thus preventing Trunks’ transformation and altering history permanently. Though aware of the rules, Trunks cannot stand by.
Defying Chronoa’s orders, Trunks travels to Age 780 himself. Bursting onto the battlefield with a fiery Burning Attack, he confronts Mira, declaring he won’t allow Gohan’s fate to be rewritten. Gohan, though surprised to see Trunks, quickly understands this version isn’t the boy he knows. Chronoa pleads with Trunks to stand down, warning that interference could unravel his own history. Trunks, however, refuses to abandon his mentor, despite the risks, prompting Chronoa to scold him for his defiance.
Together, Trunks, Future Gohan, and the Warrior fight against Mira. The villain, shocked by his inability to win, declares himself the strongest—only for Trunks to shout that he’ll never let him kill Gohan. Overwhelmed, Mira retreats, and Trunks has once again protected the future he holds dear.
A Desperate Farewell
After the battle, Future Gohan correctly deduces that Trunks arrived using Bulma’s Time Machine. Turning his attention back to the looming threat of Androids 17 and 18, Gohan prepares to face them once more. Trunks, overwhelmed with emotion from the reunion, offers to fight alongside his mentor—despite knowing that doing so would alter the course of history. Chronoa quickly reminds Trunks of the consequences. Torn between his duty as a Time Patroller and his desire to save his mentor, Trunks hesitates, prompting Chronoa to order the Future Warrior to intervene.
Reading Trunks’ reaction, Future Gohan comes to understand the truth: his fate is sealed. The presence of a grown Trunks means that the future was saved and that his sacrifice had meaning. Accepting this, Gohan tells Trunks it was good to see him again, and calmly walks toward his destiny. Trunks tries to stop him, but the Warrior holds him back. Gohan bids Trunks a final farewell and takes off to confront the androids, heroically embracing his fate.
Trunks and the Warrior return to Age 852. Chronoa thanks the Warrior for preventing a timeline shift and acknowledges the pain Trunks must be feeling. Trunks apologizes for letting his emotions cloud his judgment. Understanding the emotional toll, Chronoa and Elder Kai decide to handle things for a while, giving Trunks time to recover.
Later, Trunks sincerely apologizes to Chronoa and the Warrior for putting them in that position. He thanks them for keeping him from making a grave mistake. Chronoa and Elder Kai agree to preserve Trunks' heartfelt reunion with Gohan in the timeline, as Future Gohan willingly chose his heroic end, just as history had originally intended.
Decisive Battle with Majin Buu Saga
During the climactic battle with Majin Buu in Age 774, Trunks watches in dismay as his father falls back into darkness, becoming Majin Vegeta. He's shaken by the depths his father is willing to sink to in order to defeat Goku. When Vegeta ultimately sacrifices himself in an effort to stop Buu, the Future Warrior returns to the Time Nest. Elder Kai comments on how difficult it must have been to see Vegeta in such a state. Trunks, familiar with his father's pride and past darkness, admits that while it was painful, he’s proud to be Vegeta’s son.
Trunks’ next mission takes him to Hell, where he’s tasked with correcting the altered history involving Janemba. There, he is overwhelmed by Dark Super Janemba and a mysterious Masked Saiyan. Severely injured, Trunks is rescued by the Future Warrior and returned to the Time Nest to recover. Chronoa confirms his condition is stable and insists he rest for now. After the Future Warrior successfully restores history, Chronoa announces that Trunks has made a full recovery. Trunks awakens and shares his unsettling discovery—that the Masked Saiyan he encountered was unlike anyone he’s faced before.
God of Destruction’s Anger Saga
In Age 778, during the battle involving Beerus, Goku, and the Future Warrior, the Masked Saiyan appears once more. Trunks is stunned to recognize him as Bardock—Goku’s father. While the others battle, Trunks is humorously tasked with disposing of Chronoa’s pudding offering to Beerus, much to his chagrin. He laments that he had only just convinced her that he preferred convenience store takeout to her cooking.
The Emperor's Return Saga
Chronoa and Elder Kai soon detect a history shift during Frieza’s resurrection in Age 779. When Trunks questions how powerful Frieza could possibly be, Elder Kai scolds him, reminding him that Frieza is no longer someone who could be taken down with a sword. As Frieza unleashes his new power—transforming into Golden Frieza—Trunks notices strange interference in the Time Nest’s communications. He's astounded by Frieza’s strength and suspects the interference is tied to it.
Before the destruction of Earth, Trunks arrives just in time to rescue the Future Warrior and brings them back to Age 852. He reveals that the communication failure was no accident—Towa had hacked the Time Nest and mimicked Chronoa’s voice, deceiving Beerus and Whis into leaving the timeline and preventing them from aiding Goku and Vegeta, as they had in the original history.
The Masked Saiyan Saga
Determined to stay one step ahead of Towa and Mira, Trunks recalls Bardock and suspects the two villains are manipulating him. Hoping to uncover the truth, he investigates the Saiyan genocide in Age 737. There, they witness Frieza launching his Supernova attack on Planet Vegeta and Bardock. However, before Bardock can die, Towa appears and opens a wormhole, saving him.
Trunks and the Warrior follow Towa and Mira’s past selves through the wormhole, arriving on a ruined version of Earth in an unknown timeline—Age ???. Confused but alert, Trunks realizes this Towa is the current version, not the past one they had been tracking. He lunges at her, but his punch is stopped by none other than the Masked Saiyan. As Mira joins him, it becomes clear that the real battle is only just beginning.
Masked Warrior and the Demon Rift
Towa creates a wormhole leading to an inescapable Time Rift, intending to trap Trunks and the Future Warrior for good. Just as they’re about to be consumed, a sudden ki blast knocks them free—it comes from none other than Bardock, now freed from Towa’s control. Bardock defiantly tells Mira never to underestimate the power of a Saiyan before dragging both himself and Mira into the very wormhole Towa had created.
Devastated by the loss of Mira, Towa reveals her hidden trump card: the Masked Future Warrior—Trunks’ brainwashed partner. Trunks is stunned, realizing that Towa used intel gathered from his captured ally to breach the Time Nest’s communications in Age 852. It also explains why they had been unable to contact the Warrior until now. Despite being enhanced by the Supervillain power-up, Towa and the Masked Warrior are ultimately defeated, and Trunks’ partner is freed from her control.
Warrior from the Demon World Saga
Following these events, Trunks and the Future Warrior both experience a mental fog surrounding the recent battle. Chronoa urges them to focus and try to recall the details. Strangely, neither she nor Elder Kai remembers the original Future Warrior—only a nagging sense that something is wrong. When Trunks examines the mask brought back from the previous fight, the memory of his partner comes flooding back. This leads him to discover a major change in the scroll for Age 850.
In this altered timeline, Towa kills Xeno Shenron before Trunks can make the wish that would summon the Future Warrior to Toki Toki City and recruit them into the Time Patrol. Without the Warrior’s involvement, the battle with Demigra had ended in disaster, causing massive distortions across history.
Trunks hands the scroll to the Warrior and orders them to stop Towa while he and the two Supreme Kais handle matters in Age 852. The Warrior returns to Age 850 just in time, where Trunks prepares to make the wish, noting that the Time Patrol needs power like theirs. History is corrected, and peace briefly returns.
Towa’s Last Stand
Suddenly, Chronoa is ambushed from behind by Towa, who has stolen Tokitoki’s Egg—an artifact containing enough power to break the seal on the Demon Realm. Towa uses it to open a wormhole and release Mira from the Time Rift. Mira immediately attacks, blasting Trunks into the Future Warrior. As he prepares to finish the Warrior off, the Toki Toki City Hero appears and intercepts the attack, shielding them from Mira’s blast. Wounded but determined, the Hero encourages the Warrior to pursue Towa and Mira before collapsing.
The Warrior follows them through the wormhole and lands in an unknown timeline—Age ???—where Trunks contacts them remotely. He explains that in this timeline, Earth is completely under Towa and Mira’s control. The Time Patrol can’t reach them, meaning the Warrior must face the enemy alone.
Trunks watches helplessly as Towa merges with Tokitoki’s Egg and is absorbed by Mira, triggering his transformation into his Final Form. Eventually, Mira’s power destabilizes, and Goku uses his Dragon Fist to separate the Egg. With Mira weakened, Goku instructs the Warrior to deliver the final blow. Mira is destroyed, resulting in the deaths of both him and Towa.
Goku and the Future Warrior return to Age 852 triumphantly with Tokitoki’s Egg. Trunks congratulates them for stopping Mira and ending Towa’s schemes. To celebrate, Chronoa hosts a feast in honor of their victory—catered by Shenron himself. Everyone enjoys a moment of peace and camaraderie.
Epilogue
As the feast winds down, Goku wonders who is strongest. Trunks proudly claims he’s more powerful than both Future Warriors since he’s been a Time Patroller longer. Elder Kai quickly refutes the idea, using Goku’s victory over his older brother Raditz to show that age and experience don’t guarantee strength. When a sparring match is proposed, Beerus steps in and tells Goku to wait his turn, insisting the two Warriors fight first. Goku's childish protest earns a scolding from Trunks, making everyone laugh.
Unknown History Saga
While investigating five major Time Rifts contained in the Time Miniatures around Conton City, the Future Warrior uncovers a Distorted Time Egg in each one. Once collected, Chronoa and Elder Kai summon Trunks and the Warrior to the Time Vault to discuss what happened between Bardock and Mira within the Time Rift.
Inside the rift, Bardock confronts Mira, demanding retribution for being brainwashed and physically modified against his will. After an intense battle, Bardock emerges victorious. Mira, upon regaining consciousness, silently acknowledges his defeat—but Bardock is nowhere to be found.
Back in the Time Vault, Trunks is in awe that Bardock managed to overcome Mira. He wonders what became of him, speculating that the power and violence of the battle might have torn the rift, pulling Bardock into another dimension. He also mentions a rumor that the sudden leap to Super Saiyan 3 could have obliterated him entirely.
Chronoa thanks Trunks for his help in investigating the mystery and praises him for a job well done.
Battle with Universe 6 Saga
Trunks and the two Future Warriors are summoned to correct a distortion in Age 779, during the Universe 6 Tournament Saga. Trunks and his original partner track down Goku training with King Kai and inform him of the upcoming tournament. They teleport him to the arena just as the current Future Warrior finishes their Time Patroller exam.
While watching his father fight Cabba, Trunks is initially horrified by Vegeta’s aggression. However, he soon realizes it’s an act—Vegeta is pushing Cabba to awaken his latent power and unlock Super Saiyan. Later, Elder Kai confirms Trunks’ suspicion, and also reveals that Monaka is, in fact, incredibly weak—part of Beerus’ scheme to motivate Goku and Vegeta by tricking them.
After the tournament concludes, Trunks notices how dramatically the Universe 6 fighters powered up once Goku arrived. He hopes it’s just a coincidence, but can’t shake the feeling that someone may have orchestrated it all from behind the scenes.
Warrior of Hope Saga
In the Warrior of Hope timeline, the Future Trunks of Age 852 gathers energy from the remaining Earthlings to power his Spirit Bomb-enhanced Light Sword, aiming to defeat Fused Zamasu. Nearby, the time rift created by Goku Black begins overflowing with energy from various timelines—including from Trunks' presence in the Time Nest.
Once the timeline is corrected, Trunks returns to the Time Nest, suspecting that the altered history ties back to his original crime of time travel. Chronoa agrees that while his actions were a serious offense, the good he has done since then far outweighs the damage. She points out that without him, the Time Nest might have been destroyed long ago.
Chronoa offers him the choice to leave the Time Patrol, but Trunks declines. He expresses his gratitude, saying he's grown fond of his work, the friends he’s made, and life in Conton City. Chronoa and Elder Kai are relieved, though Elder Kai is a bit embarrassed by Chronoa’s emotional response. She jokingly tells Trunks that his decision is now recorded in official history—so there’s no backing out. Trunks laughs and admits he could never say no to her, and Chronoa officially welcomes him back, now as a Time Patroller by choice, not duty.
Hero Colosseum Saga
Bulma from the main timeline visits Conton City in Age 852 and uses the data she gathers to create the Hero Colosseum—a miniature figure-based battle game designed for the Time Patrol. To promote it, she begins airing ads through the Time Patrol’s PA system and hands out Hero Figures, some of which Trunks receives.
Chronoa mentions spotting "Little" Trunks and Goten playing with the figures, prompting Trunks and the Future Warrior to seek them out. At the Hero Colosseum, they arrive just as Kid Trunks defeats Goten in a figure battle. Kid Trunks excitedly invites his older self and the Warrior to battle, and after a brief explanation, they join in—but Trunks is hilariously defeated by his younger counterpart.
Later, they return and find Goten and Kid Trunks ready for another round. Before they can start, Bulma arrives, and both versions of Trunks warmly greet her. Trunks asks how they should promote the Hero Colosseum, but Bulma cheekily tells them that it’s their job now.
When Vegeta shows up and scoffs at the game for being childish, Kid Trunks begs him to participate. Older Trunks joins in the plea, saying it would make Bulma happy. Vegeta reluctantly agrees—and surprisingly loses in battle. However, the excitement his participation generates among the Saiyan Time Patrollers changes his attitude.
With Saiyan interest peaked, Trunks shifts focus to recruiting other races. Hoping to attract Majin Patrollers, Trunks tries to pitch the game to Good Buu. Unfortunately, Buu misunderstands and turns Trunks into a ball with his Transfiguration Beam. The Future Warrior steps in, defeats Buu in a figure battle, and convinces him it’s more fun than turning people into candy. Amused, Buu returns Trunks to normal, much to his relief.
Trunks then suggests they expand their reach to Earthlings by involving the most famous one of all—just as Mr. Satan walks by. Seeing it as a perfect opportunity, Trunks excitedly proposes that Mr. Satan star in a commercial to promote the Hero Colosseum. While Mr. Satan sarcastically claims he might be "too busy," he jokingly points out he just lost to the Future Warrior—which Trunks takes as a victory in itself.
Conton City Tournament Saga
Trunks is assigned to oversee registration for the Conton City Tournament, a new event organized by Chronoa. He makes it to Round 3 of the preliminaries but is eliminated, after which he shifts to providing commentary alongside Chronoa during the later stages of the tournament.
As they prepare to see the Future Warrior off, a sudden explosion grabs their attention. Investigating the blast, they find Oolong—this version hailing from Dragon Ball: The Breakers—who has crash-landed in Conton City after misusing a Time Machine. After calming Chronoa and listening to Oolong’s account, Trunks vouches for letting him stay temporarily, assuring Chronoa that Oolong will eventually find his way back. She reluctantly agrees, but only under the condition that Oolong behaves himself.
World Mission & Dokkan Battle
A New Menace
In the animated opening of World Mission, a mysterious figure adorned with a Galactic Patrol symbol emerges from the Crack of Time via a wormhole and infiltrates the Time Nest. Chronoa, recognizing the threat, orders Xeno Trunks to intercept the intruder. Trunks powers up to Super Saiyan and engages, but the figure effortlessly counters his sword strike with a staff and knocks Trunks down with ease. The assailant vanishes through the wormhole, leaving Chronoa to warn that he’s clearly dangerous and plotting something.
The Hero Master: Great Saiyaman 3
Tasked with investigating the threat, Xeno Trunks tracks the anomaly to Hero Town, where Super Dragon Ball Heroes is a wildly popular game and its characters are cultural icons. To blend in, Trunks dons a technologically advanced version of Gohan’s Great Saiyaman costume, becoming the masked player known as Great Saiyaman 3. Ironically, his disguise gains fame, and he becomes a local celebrity—nicknamed “Master” due to the length of his hero name.
Despite the growing fanfare, he remains focused on his mission. When anomalies begin affecting the game world, causing characters to appear in the real world, Great Saiyaman 3 takes action. He forms the Dragon Ball Heroes team, recruiting players to investigate and defend the town. His first recruit is the skilled but solitary Chamel, a Dark Demon God avatar user.
Eventually, he discovers a promising new arrival: Beat, a boy who recently moved to Hero Town. Intrigued by Beat’s potential, Great Saiyaman 3 observes him during an exhibition match and later challenges him to a friendly duel, offering guidance to level the playing field. Impressed by Beat’s rapid progress, the two are mid-battle when an alarmed crowd outside draws their attention.
Cooler has appeared in the real world, initially mistaken for a cosplayer. But Great Saiyaman 3 immediately recognizes the threat. When Cooler fires a Ki blast at Beat, the boy instinctively blocks it with his own energy—astonishing both himself and Great Saiyaman 3. The masked hero defends Beat from a follow-up attack and defeats Cooler with a precise Burning Slash.
While most spectators think it was an elaborate performance, Beat realizes something more serious is going on. Great Saiyaman 3 confirms Cooler was real and takes Beat aside to avoid panic. He reveals that characters from the game are crossing into reality due to the anomaly, and Beat's ability to use ki outside the game proves he’s no ordinary player. Sensing something unique within him, Great Saiyaman 3 invites Beat to join his investigation. Beat agrees, and the hero directs him to the Hero Lab, promising full explanations there.
Mentor of the Dragon Ball Heroes
After arriving at the secret Hero Lab hidden within Hero Tower, Beat meets another of Great Saiyaman 3’s recruits—a girl named Note. She casually refers to Great Saiyaman 3 as "Master," confusing Beat, prompting her to explain the nickname and its origin. Before long, Great Saiyaman 3 makes his entrance. Beat addresses him formally as “Great Saiyaman 3,” but Note quickly reminds him to call him “Master.” Great Saiyaman 3 chuckles, assuring Beat it’s fine—he’s used to the title by now.
Note points out that he's late. He apologizes, explaining that he was surveying the area for signs of “the menace”—his term for the mysterious figure causing the anomalies. He then formally introduces Beat and Note to each other. Curious, Note asks how long Beat has been playing, and is stunned when he replies that he only started that day. Skeptical, Note questions her master’s decision to recruit a complete rookie. Great Saiyaman 3 reassures her, saying that although Beat is new, he’s a fast learner with a special quality he can sense—and that Beat even blocked an enemy attack in the real world.
Note, shocked, demands to know if that’s true. Beat confirms it, though admits he doesn’t know how he did it. She tells him he’d better figure it out, then realizes Great Saiyaman 3 used the word "enemy." He confirms it, explaining his worst fears have come true: enemies from the game are crossing into the real world, and Beat witnessed it firsthand.
Beat recalls that the enemy was none other than Cooler, and insists it was real. Great Saiyaman 3 agrees, stating Cooler definitely came from the game. He reiterates to Beat what he had already told Note—that anomalies are affecting the game world, and Cooler’s appearance was just one result.
Beat realizes that if the anomalies continue, more enemies could invade. Great Saiyaman 3 grimly confirms it. If left unchecked, the game world could collapse, allowing more powerful threats to emerge and endanger reality. When Beat and Note wonder who's behind it, Great Saiyaman 3 reveals it's someone actively seeking power—someone who deliberately caused the anomalies to study and harness their effects.
Note calls the culprit a colossal pain in the butt, and Beat agrees—they can’t let someone abuse the game like that. Great Saiyaman 3 nods. Not only must they protect the game, but also their world. That’s why he formed his own team: the Dragon Ball Heroes.
He explains he chose them for their talent—realizing that playing SDBH alone wasn’t enough. He needed special powers. But the battle was too dangerous to involve others carelessly, so he trained relentlessly, becoming an elite player—so much so that some admirers gave him the nickname “Dreamboat.” But even that had limits. As the anomaly worsened, it became clear he couldn’t fight it alone.
Beat wonders what he and Note could possibly do if even someone like Great Saiyaman 3 couldn’t stop it alone. That’s when he introduces the Hero Switch—a device that allows its user to physically enter the game world. Even Note is surprised by this revelation.
Great Saiyaman 3 explains he learned about it from someone who once entered the game, retraced their steps, and developed a method to replicate the process. The Hero Lab itself was built from the data gathered during that journey. He then presents Beat and Note with their own Hero Switches—bracelet-like devices worn on the wrist. Luckily, both are compatible; otherwise, they couldn’t use them.
Beat excitedly asks if that means he can meet the real Goku. Great Saiyaman 3 clarifies—it would be the in-game Goku, but yes. Note gets pumped at the idea of meeting actual Dragon Ball characters. But their mentor warns them not to get too excited—entering the game is dangerous due to the anomalies. They’ll be physically present and vulnerable.
Beat says that while meeting Goku is exciting, what matters most is stopping the menace. Everyone deserves to enjoy the game. Note agrees, saying whoever’s behind it is unforgivable—and she’s going to kick their butt. Great Saiyaman 3 then officially dubs them the "Dragon Ball Heroes." Beat thinks it sounds awesome, while Note shrugs and says it’s “not bad.”
Calling him "Hero Master," Beat promises not to let him down. Great Saiyaman 3 responds warmly, saying there's no need to be so serious—but he won’t let them down either, as both their mentor and ally. When Beat tries to call him their leader, he corrects him—titles don’t matter. They’re a team now.
Then, Great Saiyaman 3 reveals something for Beat: a red version of the Dragon Ball Heroes uniform—similar to Note’s yellow one. Beat admits he was just thinking about how cool it looked. After putting it on, Note comments that it's “not too shabby,” while Great Saiyaman 3 says it fits like a glove.
With formalities out of the way, it's time to get serious. Great Saiyaman 3 says they need to start tackling the anomaly. But Note wants to settle something first—she challenges Beat to a Super Dragon Ball Heroes match. Beat is confused until she explains she wants to test their strengths before their real battles begin.
Great Saiyaman 3 tries to delay it, but Note insists. Beat accepts, apologizing to his mentor. Great Saiyaman 3 relents, suggesting they take the battle into the game world—it will serve as both training and a practical test of their Hero Switches. He chooses a peaceful period just after Raditz’s defeat, when the Dragon Team was preparing for Vegeta and Nappa’s arrival—an ideal time with no imminent threats.
Before they depart, Note suggests Beat visit the robot Lulu to learn the game basics. Once ready, they activate their Hero Switches and enter the game, while Great Saiyaman 3 remains at the lab to monitor them and protect Hero Town in case another character escapes into reality.
The World of Super Dragon Ball Heroes
Beat and Note arrive in Gizard Wasteland—long before it became the famous battlefield where Goku fought Vegeta. They find themselves transformed into their Hero Avatars: Beat as a Hero-type male Saiyan and Note as a Hero-type female Saiyan.
As they take in the scenery, Great Saiyaman 3 contacts them via transmitter. Beat replies that they hear him loud and clear and asks where he is. Their mentor explains he’s not joining them this time and will provide support remotely.
Note notices their new appearances and asks what’s going on. Great Saiyaman 3 explains it’s the Hero Switch—the device alters their appearance in-game to match their Avatar's form and race. Beat thinks it's awesome. Note agrees, saying she feels completely different.
Great Saiyaman 3 is surprised—they shouldn’t be able to smell dirt or feel the breeze. The realism is beyond what he expected, but he’s glad they’re adapting so well. Since they’ve adjusted quickly, he suggests they begin their battle—before the menace appears.
Beat checks on Note. She says she's glad they're starting in Gizard Wasteland. Beat wonders if it's her favorite spot, but she explains that it's where it all began for Goku and the gang. Beat agrees—after all, that battle led them to Namek and beyond. Note declares her journey to become the best SDBH player starts here. Beat grins, countering that he’ll be the strongest. The two prepare to face off.
Beat vs. Note
Back at the Hero Lab, Great Saiyaman 3 watches as Beat and Note square off in Gizard Wasteland during the early Saiyan Saga.
Beat defeats Note’s deck—which, amusingly, includes a Xeno Trunks card (she has no idea her master is the real one). Refusing to go down easy, Note charges in for a physical counterattack. Great Saiyaman 3 chuckles—classic Note behavior.
They continue trading blows, and Note steps up her game, matching Beat’s growing skill. But Beat pulls off another victory, and Great Saiyaman 3 declares him the winner.
Note concedes, impressed, and promises a rematch. Beat confidently says he’ll win again. She brushes it off as typical big talk—but now that they know each other's strengths, it's time to focus on correcting the anomaly and stopping the menace threatening both worlds.
Note winces, feeling the sting of their sparring match. She admits she's not used to fighting physically in the game and didn’t know it was even possible to get hurt. Beat quickly apologizes, asking if she’s alright. She nods, brushing it off as the consequence of challenging him in the first place, then teases, “You’re looking pretty beat up yourself.”
Beat chuckles, admitting he was probably too hyped on adrenaline to notice. Still, he’s in better shape than Note—likely thanks to his natural ki control, unlike Note, who's a skilled SDBH player but new to actual physical combat.
Great Saiyaman 3 congratulates them on their performance, pointing out how they've started to bond as a team. He adds that it seems they’ve also figured out how to use the Hero Switch, meaning they’re ready to face the real threat together. He instructs them to return to the lab.
An Anomaly?! The Saiyans Strike!!
The Dragon Ball Heroes team begins scanning for signs of anomalies, starting with the Gizard Wasteland. Great Saiyaman 3 checks the area and finds nothing unusual, preparing to redirect them elsewhere.
Before he can, Note asks if they can linger a little longer. Beat agrees, saying they never know who might show up. Great Saiyaman 3 reminds them of their mission. While he understands their excitement, staying focused is more important. Note admits he’s right, and Beat apologizes for the distraction. Great Saiyaman 3 reassures them, saying it’s natural to be excited as SDBH players inside the game world. He adds that with battles like this, blowing off steam occasionally is healthy.
Just as he tells them to use the Hero Switch to exit, ominous dark clouds swirl in the sky. Beat and Note both look up, alerting Great Saiyaman 3, who asks for a report.
Beat describes the sky’s sudden change, and Great Saiyaman 3 quickly realizes it means Shenron has been summoned—to revive Goku, and much earlier than expected. Suddenly, Vegeta and Nappa appear, surprising everyone.
“That’s… not good,” Great Saiyaman 3 mutters.
“Way too early,” Beat adds. “Our master said anomalies like this were happening, right?”
“Exactly,” Great Saiyaman 3 confirms. “Impossible events are unfolding everywhere, like history is being rewritten. I was expecting twists… just not this soon.”
He’s about to say it couldn’t get worse when Beat cuts in—“It does.” He and Note spot Raditz, alive and well, now joined by Turles. All four Saiyans stand united, ready to invade Earth.
The four warriors scoff at Beat and Note, mocking them as kids. Great Saiyaman 3 is stunned to see Raditz and Turles here, especially since neither should be present in this timeline.
Note points out that Raditz should be dead, having been taken out by Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon. Raditz laughs it off, saying the Namekian just got lucky—but not lucky enough. He claims he survived thanks to the timeline’s distortion.
Vegeta scolds Raditz, calling him a disgrace who failed to bring Kakarot into the fold. Nappa adds insult, calling him weak. Raditz growls, but Turles cuts in to ease tensions, suggesting they enjoy this rare Saiyan reunion.
As the enemy prepares to fight, Beat admits he can’t help but be starstruck—he’s finally meeting the real Vegeta. Note reminds him the punches are very real in this world. Beat is still hyped, saying he’s been waiting for this moment forever. Note jokes, “Think they'd sign my shirt?”
Great Saiyaman 3 cuts through the excitement, reminding them there’s no time for fanboying—they’ve got an anomaly to fix. He orders them to engage the Saiyans before Goku and his team can arrive.
Vegeta is amused the “milksops” dare to stand in for Kakarot. Nappa agrees, saying grade schoolers aren’t going to stop them. Raditz vows not to repeat past mistakes. Turles warns that they’re about to witness true Saiyan power—unless they’d prefer to join their invasion, noting their avatars are Saiyans too.
Beat declines the offer with a smirk. “We’re here to beat you, not join you.”
Vegeta grins. “Oh, there’ll be a beating, alright. Just not the way you’re thinking.” Nappa grumbles, “What’s with kids these days?”
Vegeta decides not to waste time and proposes they crush the kids all at once.
Great Saiyaman 3 advises Beat and Note to use what they learned from their sparring match—this is the moment to fight as a team.
In the ensuing battle, the player chooses either Beat or Note. Beat’s deck and avatar are customizable, while Note uses a balanced preset deck. Regardless of who is chosen, the duo manages to defeat Nappa, Raditz, and Turles through teamwork and strategy.
Great Saiyaman 3 praises them and urges them to focus on the final opponent: Vegeta.
Vegeta snarls, calling his fallen allies “twits” for being bested by children. Beat notices that Vegeta still looks confident.
Note points out that he’s not unscathed—if they keep pushing, they can win. But Vegeta scoffs, asking if they honestly believed that was his best.
Beat starts to think they might’ve seen it all—until Vegeta smirks.
“I was holding back. You’re nothing but playthings to kill time until Kakarot shows up. But it looks like he’s a no-show…”
Vegeta powers up, preparing to end the fight.
Seeing the danger, Great Saiyaman 3 considers stepping into the game himself—until a familiar voice interrupts:
“Hold it right there, Vegeta.”
Goku, joined by Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu, arrives on the battlefield. Goku smiles and asks if he missed anything.
Vegeta turns his attention to the new arrivals.
Great Saiyaman 3 breathes a sigh of relief. “Looks like Goku brought the cavalry.” He acknowledges this as another anomaly-related twist, but this time, it works in their favor.
Beat and Note are awestruck as Goku and the Dragon Team arrive. Beat, practically glowing, blurts out, “It’s the Z Warriors!”—his favorite name for the legendary fighters. Note rubs her eyes in disbelief. “I… I can’t believe this is real.”
Goku steps forward with a warm smile. “Looks like you two held down the fort for us, huh?”
Beat nods. “Yeah! We did what we could.”
Goku glances at Raditz, now downed, and adds, “Impressive. He escaped from me and Piccolo earlier. You two took him down?”
Note shrugs, still catching her breath. “Barely. That guy doesn’t go down easy.”
“You’ve got our thanks,” Goku says sincerely.
Piccolo crosses his arms. “Not bad… for a couple of kids.”
Yamcha laughs. “Wasn’t expecting backup, but sure glad you showed up when you did.”
Goku turns to his team. “Alright, everyone—fall in. Time to make up for lost time.” His gaze narrows at Vegeta. “So… ready to finish this?”
Vegeta scoffs. “You gathered your little squad, Kakarot. But unless you brought an entire army, it won’t matter against an elite Saiyan warrior like me.”
Goku smirks. “Let’s find out. Come on—give it your best shot.”
Krillin joins in. “We’ve been training for this moment, Vegeta! Time to rearrange that ugly mug.”
“We’re stronger than you think!” Yamcha adds.
But Vegeta chuckles, unshaken. “Strength and confidence aren't the same thing. Let’s see if you're still running your mouths after you witness my transformation.”
Note blinks. “Wait, is this where he turns into a Great Ape?”
Beat nods nervously. “Should be. And man, I really don’t want to fight that.”
But instead of creating a Power Ball, Vegeta clenches his fists and lets out a mighty roar. His aura explodes—his hair turns gold, spikes up, and continues shifting until it flows down his back. Within moments, Vegeta skips every known form and ascends straight to Super Saiyan 3.
Beat’s jaw drops. “He just went Super Saiyan…”
Note finishes his sentence. “All the way to three!”
Great Saiyaman 3 stares in disbelief. “That shouldn’t be possible. At this point in time, he shouldn’t even know about Super Saiyan, let alone achieve this. His power’s skyrocketed far beyond his normal limits…”
Even Goku, unfamiliar with Super Saiyan transformations in this era, senses it. “Whoa… he’s really strong.”
Vegeta smirks at their stunned expressions. “Shocked? You should be. I’ve transcended the limits of Saiyan-kind. I am… a Super Saiyan!”
Goku blinks. “A Super Saiyan? Never heard of it.”
Vegeta laughs. “Of course you haven’t. Technically, I’ve surpassed even that—reached a level beyond your understanding. But it doesn’t matter. You’re all dead men anyway.”
Goku scratches his head. “Well… I didn’t expect this. Gotta admit, you’ve got me beat in power.”
Vegeta glares. “Now you understand the foolishness of challenging me, Kakarot. You face the supreme wielder of Super Saiyan strength. It’s time for you to die.”
Great Saiyaman 3 groans. “Yep. That’s Vegeta, alright. On a rampage again…” He turns to Beat and Note. “Sorry, I still need more time to reach you guys. But you’ve got each other—and the Dragon Team. If you work together, I know you’ll win. I’m counting on you to stop this anomaly and bring Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta down!”
With their allies at their side, Beat and Note face the rampaging Vegeta. After a fierce battle, they manage to defeat him, forcing the Super Saiyan 3 prince to retreat.
Beat throws his hands in the air. “We actually beat Vegeta!”
Note grins. “Our teamwork was on point.”
Goku chuckles. “You may be pint-sized, but your power sure isn’t. Thanks for the help out there.”
As the dust settles, the Dragon Team gathers around them.
“Thanks for having our backs,” Krillin says.
Beat, still buzzing with excitement, replies, “The pleasure’s all ours. I always dreamed of fighting alongside you guys!”
Note adds, “It was an honor. Truly.”
Goku steps forward again, beaming. “You’ve got some next-level moves, Beat. We should spar sometime.”
Beat practically explodes. “Yes! Please!”
Great Saiyaman 3 appears via comms. “Great hustle, team. The anomaly’s been resolved. Hate to tear you away from your heroes, but I need you two back in the real world.”
Beat and Note wave goodbye to the Dragon Team.
“Catch you around!” Goku says.
“Thanks again for everything!” Gohan adds with a smile.

Back at the Hero Lab
Great Saiyaman 3 congratulates them. “You did it. You survived a showdown with an out-of-control Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta and made it back in one piece.”
Beat laughs nervously. “There were moments I thought we wouldn’t.”
Note smiles. “But we did. That’s what counts.”
“You did more than just survive,” Great Saiyaman 3 says proudly. “You adapted to wild changes, stayed cool, and came out on top. I knew I saw something special in you.”
Beat scratches his head. “You’re too kind. Honestly, Goku and the others saved the day.”
Note reluctantly agrees. “Yeah… we’d have been toast without them.”
“Maybe so,” Saiyaman 3 nods. “But a win’s a win. And we’re getting closer to the truth. I’m sure we’ll find out who—or what—is behind all this soon enough.”

World Mission - Hero Master’s Report on the Saiyan Anomaly
Later, Beat and Note investigate a dimensional rift deep within the anomaly. Inside, the battle isn’t over yet. Due to the distortions, Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz have survived and—like Vegeta before—each achieves Super Saiyan 3.
After another grueling battle, Beat and Note manage to defeat SSJ3 Nappa and weaken both Raditz and Vegeta, knocking them back into base form.
But just as they think it’s over, Vegeta hurls a Power Ball into the sky.
Raditz snarls as his body transforms. “Time for payback!”
He becomes a Great Ape. Vegeta follows, transforming into his monstrous form as well—if the fight drags on past the first round.
Beat and Note face off against both Great Apes and a horde of Saibamen, fighting tooth and nail.
Eventually, they prevail—defeating Great Ape Raditz, Great Ape Vegeta, and their army—fully resolving the Gizard Wasteland anomaly.

Post-Battle
As Goku and Krillin return to the real world, Great Saiyaman 3 checks in.
“Still think you’re dreaming?” he jokes. “Because that was really the Saiyan Prince. And you ousted him.”
He smiles. “Honestly… I didn’t think you’d make it. But you surprised me. You’re more talented than I ever imagined.”
Note smirks. “Just wait. There’s more where that came from.”
Still, something nags at Saiyaman 3. “There’s one thing I can’t shake. When the sky went black… they all came back. I think the game world itself is being rewritten.”
He crosses his arms.
“If I’m right… the biggest anomaly of all isn’t here. It’s still out there, waiting.”
Secret Battle Tournament
At the Hero Stadium, Beat participates in SDBH tournaments, and during his time there, he overhears a rumor from Moden: winners of the prestigious S Rank Tournament gain access to exclusive, secret battles. After claiming victory in the S Rank Tournament for the first time, a new option—Secret Battle—is unlocked.
Upon selecting the Secret Battle, Beat finds himself face-to-face with none other than the Hero Master himself. The Hero Master praises Beat for making it this far. Curious, Beat asks why he’s there. The Hero Master explains that battling high-level SDBH players provides valuable research data. He coordinated with Moden to create the Secret Battle option, allowing S Rank champions to challenge him in a one-on-one match.
Beat confirms he’s really going up against the Hero Master, and Great Saiyaman 3 nods, saying their last battle was cut short—so this time, they’ll do it right. Fired up, Beat tells the Hero Master to get ready, because he's not holding anything back.
During the match, Beat battles the Hero Master's avatar, Great Saiyaman 3, and a deck that changes every time—except for the avatar card, which remains constant. Beating the Hero Master for the first time rewards Beat with:
- A Tera Rarity Tournament of Power Module for his Super Hero Robo
- 3 Gacha Tickets (Rare)
- 100,000 Zeni
“Well done, Beat! I’ll have to do better next time!” — Hero Master, after being defeated
Once defeated, the Hero Master congratulates Beat and admits he'll need to improve for next time. From then on, Beat can rematch him in future Secret Battles, earning new rewards:
- 200,000 Zeni
- One 3x EXP Item Capsule
- 3 Gacha Tickets (Rare)
- A chance to earn another Tournament of Power Module
The Hero Master's deck will continue to change each time, except for his Great Saiyaman 3 avatar. After the first victory, Moden will privately reveal to Beat that she has a Hero Master outfit secretly hanging in her house—confirming she’s a huge fan.
The Breakers
Prologue
In another timeline, Xeno Trunks investigates a dangerous Temporal Seam and encounters a mysterious Survivor who was sucked into the distortion. Trunks quickly enlists their help to activate the Super Time Machine, but the mission fails when Cell appears, destroys the machine, and the key with it.
Shortly after, Trunks and the Survivor come across Xiaon and an injured Nallej, who is healed upon meeting them. Together, the four begin searching for another Power Key. Trunks holds off Cell in a fierce battle while the others activate the Super Time Machine, which successfully lands them in the Cell Games Arena, fixing the Temporal Seam and erasing Cell in the process.
Trunks then takes everyone to the Time Nest, where they meet Chronoa, the Supreme Kai of Time. However, another Temporal Seam opens and pulls the Survivor in. Thinking quickly, Trunks tosses them a special briefcase and later contacts them remotely, explaining that it contains tools essential for survival until he can reach them.
Inside the Temporal Seam, the Survivor encounters Teen Bulma (from the post-Emperor Pilaf Saga). With Trunks' help, she begins crafting a Power Key Radar. When Cell appears a third time, Trunks contacts the Survivor again and introduces them to the Transphere, a device that allows temporary access to a powerful warrior's soul—though he forgets to mention the time limit.
After Cell destroys the Startup System, Future Trunks arrives in his mother's Time Machine to extract the group. He transports them to a small Time Patrol Base just outside the Conton City limits, where he explains they will be staying for now, at least until the Temporal Seam crisis is under control.
